Really good Christmas romance! I love the royal and Christmas tropes. Four glittery stars for His Christmas Princess!

Enjoyed Emory and Willow's journey to find common future. Good characters with story line to keep the reader turning the pages.

Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

I’ve just finished His Christmas Princess and loved it. Perfect for lovers of royal romance, Christmas romance or Cinderella stories, this one is written as a contemporary romance set in a fictional kingdom in the Bay of Biscay.
I liked the way author Kathleen O’Brien contrasted the formal behaviour expected of royals with their very human wants, desires and failings.
Heroine Willow Arden is the unmarried mother of toddler Masie, and on the surface could not be a less suitable bride for the crown prince, yet in addition to being the woman Prince Emory Vicenza falls in love with she displays all the necessary characteristics to fill the role.
Emory presents a stiff, formal and unapproachable public face. He is resigned to the fact that he will have to marry in order to carry on the royal line and spare his younger brother the work of being king. His people and his mother expect him to choose a royal princess as his bride.
There is a good deal of push and pull in this novel, which kept me interested to see what would be thrown at this pair next. Both have such a strong sense of duty and responsibility, which constantly gets in the way of their growing feelings for each other. I thought they were very well written and believable and I really enjoyed watching them dance around each other. Regardless of the fact that this is a Christmas story, it is a good read any time of the year.

"His Christmas Princess" by Kathleen O'Brien is a wonderful holiday tale. My heart was leaping with joy, although there are moments when it hurt for our lovely couple too. Ms. O"Brien has written a tale that is Hallmark channel worthy, in my opinion. I liked Emory, despite thinking he might come off as bit of a jerk, I found him endearing and lovable. Willow is sweet and a hard worker that secretly dreams of romance but doesn't believe it's truly in the cards for her. For a delicious Christmas story that warms the heart, don't miss "His Christmas Princess".

This was a great read, perfect for the Christmas holidays. The plot is quite common: a royal and a commoner who works at the palace are attracted to each other, but know it can never be due to their difference in status, and yet they can't seem to help themselves. Add an adorable toddler and some mental shields and you have quite a good book!

This was a quick read and perfect for the Christmas season. It's a sweet book that also touches depths addressing insecurities, responsibilities, stereotypes, assumptions and more. I have not read the first book but didn't feel I was missing any information or connection to the characters. The beginning establishes the state of mind of Willow and Emory (individually), then as time passes and they've grown (again, individually), and finally how they come together at the right time.

<spoiler>Although unspoken between them, we knew they were falling for each other. I may have missed something, but it seemed like the story abruptly changed, they were declaring their love for each other and talking about making big life changes.</spoiler>

The daughter, Maisie? Adorable! George, too.

I received a copy of this story from Tule Publishing through NetGalley for an honest review.

A lovely read. Story of love and romance between crown prince Emory and planner Willow, the single mother of Maisie. I would say Maisie stole the show from others

Love often doesn’t make a bit of sense, and the road to true love with a fairytale ending is far from the norm. Love hurts, love takes work and at times, love requires sacrifices that you never thought you’d make. This is something that Willow and Emory are learning firsthand. A future king and an American unwed mother will find a difficult journey to a happy together ending – but when the love is real sometimes the unexpected becomes possible.

His Christmas Princess was an emotional, touching romance between unlikely people. Their attraction, their passion is sizzling but their responsibilities in life are also very real. I often ached for both Willow and Emory. They’re both good people who fell in love, the rest was problematic because of their positions in life, outside influences and duties, and sometimes they got in their own way to happiness. Following along on their journey was a fun experience, at times a frustrating one as well. In the end, this couple found what so many do not, that above all else love matters in how you live your life, perform your duties and experience everything life has to offer. I liked them and was cheering them on to find a way to be together – no matter what the future held.

If you enjoy a seemingly impossible on the surface love story, good friends and annoying enemies, and seeing two people who are just right for each other find their way to a happy ending worthy of a fairytale – then you’ll enjoy His Christmas Princess. I’d recommend this one for any Romance reader. You’ll discover people to care about, a touching love story that sizzles and likable secondary characters as well.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Thank you for allowing me to read and review this book. I am just not interested in this book anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Let me start with saying that when I opened the ebook I found out there was a companion novel that took place before this one. And those characters are in this book too. Just like how Willow and Emory are in the first book. But you can definitely read this without the other one. The other book is called: His Defiant Princess.

Willow is an unwed mother, as they call it in her in the book. I would call her a very strong independent single parent. Her daughter Maisie is really cute. I really liked Emory too. And I really liked Brenna and Ronan as a couple. (main characters book one)

I really enjoyed reading about these two characters. I just love reading about princes and princesses, I can't help it. This story about Willow and Emory show them trying to be friends. They both want more, but they can't.

I loved that this book had a dual point of view. It was really great to read from both Willow and Emory's perspectives.

I hope that there will be more stories about these characters in the future. If the synopsis of the book sounds interesting to you I highly recommend you read this book!

3.5 stars

Emory is next in line to the throne and your typical tight laced heir. Willow has been invited to work for the palace, organising events. But she can never be queen alongside him.

This was really enjoyable and I felt the characters were well fleshed out.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. What a touching romance this story was. Little Maisse was such a cute character and the love story was well written and captured my attention. I would definitely read more by this author.

His Christmas Princess by Kathleen O'Brien is a fun read of a romance that blossoms between a crowned prince and a coronation planner. Of course, the road to romance is not always easy especially with the responsibilities and commitments of both Emory and Willow. However, most things in life worth something take some work as these two discover.

His Christmas Princess has engaging characters with smooth plot pacing. The palace setting gives the story a fairy tale quality. It is an entertaining, light but not shallow read.

As coronation planner, Willow Arden has met her share of the royal family. Never has she had the reaction to any of them the way she does to Emory. Emory has been gone a year living life his way before taking over the throne. Now he's back and his life is really about to get complicated!!

This is a fun well written book with great characters and a fun storyline. Definitely a book I recommend.

Kathleen O’Brien is a new author to me. I found her writing of His Christmas Princess to be so much better than I thought it would be. I selected it from Net Galley on a whim to try a new author. She weaves a charming story of love, a bit of past betrayal and of a prince who grows up to take responsibility and learn from his past. Prince Emory has, apparently, always known his duty was to be the future king, but he struggles with taking up his ‘job.’ He has fallen in love with Willow, an American, whom he cannot marry as the future king of Cornetta.

Willow is one of a duo who went to Cornetta to open a business. Brenna is the other half and has married Emory’s younger brother, Ronan, the spare heir. They had a previous book and marry at the beginning of this one. I plan to go back and read their story since I enjoyed this one as much as I did.

There are a lot of obstacles in the way to keep Emory and Willow apart. Both have made mistakes in the past, such as a horrible comment Emory made into a live microphone about unwed mothers. Well, Willow is an unwed mother. They have a lot to overcome to get to their HEA, but that is what makes this a good book.

If you like to read sweet, endearing romances over the Christmas break, this is one to put on your pick up list. And, like me if you want to read Brenna and Ronan’s story, His Defiant Princess, pick it up, too.

What a lovely read. Lots of chemistry and tension between Emory and Willow and of course little Maisie stole the show when she was around. I'd not read the Royal Holiday series that covers Ronan and Brenna's story, but will be making a point to read it soon.
