A big thank you to NetGalley and Hocus Pocus for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I admit I usually enjoy anything by Cynthia Eden and was excited to get this book. This is number 2 in the series, but for some reason I just couldn't connect with the characters. I put it down, read the next two in the series which I liked a lot. Tried again and still no connection. It's probably me. I think a lot of people will enjoy this story if they like romantic suspense. I rate this a 3.5. This is Dr. Cynthia Gregory and Flynns story.

This has been the first time I haven't been able to fully immerse myself into a Cynthia Eden novel, and I'm quite flabbergasted. Whether it was the story itself or simply my own personal wall, I'm not sure. I was anxious to get to know these characters after meeting them in the first novel, but I wasn't sucked in like I expected to be. Maybe it was just one of those books that wasn't for me, for whatever reason, and after attempting it twice by putting it down originally and then coming back to it, I found it still wasn't working for me. I'm certainly still a huge fan of hers and will continue to read every book she puts out--unfortunately this one just didn't work for me.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat and captivated. I thought the main characters was resourceful, clever and entertaining. The plot twists kept me in constant suspense and when I closed my eyes, I easily imagine the villain lurking in the dark corners, leering at me from the shadows. But I do love it, when the good guys win! ;D

KEEP ME CLOSE is the second book in Cynthia Eden's Lazarus Rising series. This story has some of my favorite elements from previous Cynthia Eden books -- a crazed killer on the loose, and a retooling of the "Frankenstein" story. Although KEEP ME CLOSE isn't populated with any of Cynthia Eden's ferocious yet delicious vampires and werewolves, she does include some badass super soldiers with psychic abilities. For readers new to this series, Cynthia Eden brings the reader up to speed on what Project Lazarus is all about and who the main players are.

As soon as Flynn Haddox appears in KEEP ME CLOSE, he makes it clear to everyone what kind of man he is and how important Dr. Cecelia Gregory is to him. Flynn comes in like a force of nature and declares that Cecelia is his. In reality, Cecelia was only his psychiatrist while he was in the Lazarus program, but the sexual tension between them goes through the roof. Bryce King is a nightmarish and twisted version of Flynn. Both men want Cecelia, but for very different reasons. Cynthia Eden illustrates why she is a master of psychological suspense as she sets up the cat and mouse game between Bryce and his many targets.

Even though Flynn is incredibly possessive of Cecelia and aggressive when it comes to his enemies (just about anyone who threatens Cecelia), he is not a jerk. Flynn shows that he can back off when Cecelia needs a little breathing room. Plus -- for a jacked up super soldier who has probably perfected "resting Wolverine face", he utters some of the most swoon-worthy and romantic lines directed his lady's way. As Flynn and Cecelia lock lips and battle evildoers in KEEP ME CLOSE, the action and suspense never obscure the love story.

KEEP ME CLOSE is a roller coaster ride of amazing from start to finish. There so many supporting characters in KEEP ME CLOSE that intrigued me -- like Benjamin Larson, Jay Maverick, and Willow -- that I hope to read more about in future books. I look forward to the next sexy spine-tingling romance by Cynthia Eden.

Cecilia and Flynn met when she as the doctor in the Lazarus program, helped Flynn cope with being something new, improved, but back from death.
When the program ended, they both tried to go back to real life, but it´s not going that well..
Now Cecilia finds herself targeted because of her old work, and Flynn knows he´s the only one who can protect her. When feelings flare between them, everything will steam up.
PNR action, suspense and smutty fluff in that awesome combo that Cynthia Eden always brings <3
Love it!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cecelia was a psychiatrist, one of the best. She had a specialty, dealing with the mind of a killer. This came about from a much more personal level since she'd had a traumatic experience when she was 15 and barely survived. She has worked with the FBI as a profiler.

Flynn was a SEAL who died during service...and now he is alive? The Lazarus Project involved bringing back the dead with a serum in the effort to make a super soldier. Most had no memories of their past but they all had some sort of psychic ability.

Cecelia was asked to work with these men, to work on their increased aggression since this seemed to be a side effect from the serum. She came into the project innocently but eventually all hell broke loose and she and some of the men were rescued.

Flynn always had an attraction to Cece and she to him but she denies it plus she fears him. She doesn't so much fear the man as she does the power and strength he has, the psychic ability.

Their goal is to find out if there are more victims left from this project when Cecelia is asked to work on a case with the FBI that is very similar to another. Flynn has always been super protective of Cece and is not happy when she will be working with an ex-lover. He will be there every moment.

Can Cecelia help catch this killer? Can Flynn keep her safe?

This book was awesome! I am a fan of Ms. Eden's already but this drew me right in and kept me turning the pages. The flow of the story was so smooth and there were many twists and turns. Every time I thought I had it figured out it would twist and when it came down to the conclusion in the end, I was blown away.

Cece lived in fear since she was 15, she was afraid to let anyone in to know the real her. This is what she has to do if she will have a life...and love

Cynthia Eden Is one of my favorite authors. I tend to read everything she writes other than her paranormal type series. I just am not typically a paranormal reader. I decided to give this book a try because it did not seem to be as heavy on the paranormal as some of the others, and I was craving a Cynthia Eden fix. Having not read the first book in the series, I did have to play a bit of catch up, but it still worked pretty well as a standalone.

The attraction between Flynn and Cecelia is mutual, but for Flynn it is almost an obsession. Cecelia is completely opposite in that she prefers to ignore it. As much as she is attracted to Flynn, she is even more afraid of him and the others like him, especially subject five who wants her dead. Flynn has made it his mission to protect her. In his mind, she's his no matter what.

This was all the things I want to read romantic suspense for, lots of action and plenty of steamy chemistry between a spunky lady and a seriously alpha man.

I requested an ARC from Net Galley.

Ms. Eden has written another thrilling romance with an excellent plot. Enjoyed it a lot!

I have read almost everything Cynthia Eden writes because it is action pack, the story packs a lot into a few pages, the romance is hot fast and the characters are interesting.
Just like all of her other series this one can be picked up on book 2 and readers will not feel lost but feel they are writing a new story with just enough background to understand the secondary characters who might have stared in the first book or will in the series.
Keep Me Close has the same feel as many of Cynthia Edens other stories Alpha male who takes control of the female with a very caveman feel. It works in this series because the men been turned into killing machines so they are not to have normal responses but more basic response to people, Kill, Fight, Win and claim woman.
The story moves fast and readers of Cynthia Eden will love this series and its perfect to curl up to a fire place and enjoy a night alone.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher Hocus Pocus Publishing, Inc. for the Copy.

I would give this 4.5 stars. This is the second book in the series (I liked the first one a bit more) and is the story of Dr. Cecelia and Flynn, the super soldier. When serial killer Bryce gets into their heads and tries to manipulate and eventually kill Cecelia, the game is on. Some of the characters continue from book one, which is nice. Some of the creepy side notes where not nice. I get that the evil ones are needed, but too many names got me confused at times. Maybe just me. Still, overall a good story and one I had trouble putting down. Highly recommend this book, series and author.

Second book in the “Lazarus Rising” Series is just as fast paced and adrenaline ride as Subject Two aka Flynn Haddox and Dr. Cecelia Gregory are dodging the bullets to stay one step ahead of the people hunting the super soldiers.

With his entire past burned down to ashes, Flynn literally is the dead man resurrected, gunning to end the threat hunting Cecelia and the super soldiers created through the Lazarus project. Having defied death once, Cecelia wants nothing more than to put the entire disaster behind her and take a chance at a future with Flynn.

With his best friend Sawyer Cage and the creator of the Lazarus Project, Elizabeth and with some very rich and resourceful friends in tow, Flynn and Cecelia have to fight their way through mind games, and the evil manipulations of an enhanced solder “Subject Five” who was a serial killer in his past life!

Impressive as always, Cynthia Eden’s plot of super enhanced soldiers, the scope of technology that can be created and used is pure genius and mind-blowing. ”Keep Me Close” is another brilliant story as Cynthia Eden continues the series with Flynn and Cecelia, their fight for survival, and the fight to save the surviving soldiers, and to get to the bottom of the iceberg, and destroy it once and for all.

Received an ARC from the author and Hocus Pocus Publishing via Netgalley for an honest review.

I LOVED this one!!!

A man with no past; fighting for a future. A woman with a past better forgotten; fighting to move forward with her life. When these two come together it is brazenly HOT.

I love that the Lazarus abilities are evolving; unveiling tons of possibilities. These super soldiers might be enhanced, and gifted with special abilities but, it is the romance that will keep me coming back to this series.

I can't wait to see what Cynthia Eden has planned for these characters.

A hot new mystery suspense by Cynthia Eden.

Keep Me Close book #2 in the Lazarus Rising.
When we last saw Flynn…. He escaped a facility that was holding super soldiers. Humans that were brought back to life, with the formula that was made by Elizabeth Parker. Whose story was told in Never Let Go, whereas, Never Let Go surroundings was mainly in the facility. Flynn’s story has us readers out in about.
When a murder is committed all fingers points to a serial killer. Which leads the FBI to seek out Cecelia a top-notch profiler and the psychiatrist who was hired to help the Lazarus’ test subject.
Keep Me Close wasn’t as thrilling as Never Let Go. This story was more mysterious then thrilling. If you read the first book, there wasn’t a mystery. It wasn’t about the Who did it, or Why did they. The reason and who was placed right in front of you. Whereas, this book had different players. You may think you know who, but everything or everyone may not be as what they were playing to be.
I enjoyed Keep Me Close just not as much as Never Let Go. When I reviewed Never Let Go, I did say that Cynthia Eden set the bar too high…..this book may not have surpassed Never Let Go, but it does sit comfortably at #2

4.5 - "We all have secrets..." Stars!

The second book in Cynthia Eden’s Lazarus Rising series; Keep Me Close gives us Flynn and Cecelia’s story.

Both played large parts as secondary characters in the first book, so you know that their coming together is pretty much a foregone conclusion, especially as Flynn goes all growly alpha on pretty much everyone who tries to get near the secretive Doctor.

"I’m supposed to bare my soul for you, but you’re gonna keep holding back from me..?"

No one writes Romantic Suspense with a twist, quite like Cynthia, and this series is giving me all the good feels the same way most of her previous ones have. You absolutely need to have read the first book, because Sawyer and Elizabeth are very much a part of this instalment, and we also start to learn a lot more about Jay and just how deeply he was involved with the original experiments.

"I’ll be with you… I’ll take care of you."

Some questions are answered, but many more are raised, with the introduction of several new secondary characters that I think will likely play more pivotal roles in the forthcoming books the author releases. Action, adventure, suspense, thrills & spills, all told around a sexy-hot love story, what more could you ask for!

"We thought we were safe, but we were all wrong."

I very much think the first two books have now set the scene, I am interested to now see how everything plays out going forwards, with a seasonal novella up next; Stay With Me, is due for release in December, and I cannot wait to read it.

The story wasn’t fully over…

Hot on the heels of reading book one Never Let Go, I needed more. And I got so lucky that this book dropped the day I needed more!

In the last book, the Navy SEALs who were killed on a certain mission were given the Lazarus serum...and brought back to life. The creator of the formula never wanted it to be used in that way, and even though it wasn't ready, even though the formula had had some unforseen complications, it was ordered to be used anyway. On their own guys.

Enter Flynn Haddox.

Flynn was kept in cells with his fellow teammates, and with their reanimation came some problems. The first being that none of them remember their lives before waking in their cells. The second (among many) was increased aggression. Adding to that, these new supersoldiers were rapidly developing talents beyond the enhanced strength and quick healing. They had telepathic abilities and each man has his own talent that he's just better at.

Cecelia Gregory is the doctor brought on to help the men adjust to their new lives, and to help with the increased aggression. However, she's never really given the whole truth. She's going in blind so to speak. The moment Flynn walks into her office, he knows she's it for him. He may not be able to remember his name, or even that of his mom, but he knows she's his.

Cecelia has her own secrets and those secrets have led her to a career in psychiatry. She wants to figure out why killers kill. And she understands those monsters a little too well. She is supposed to fix the soldiers. But what if some of them don't want to be fixed?

One of the soldiers who escaped in the last book isn't a good guy. He's also begun to get his memories back. One person he remembers? Cecelia. He fixates on her...and her fear. And he exploits it using his psychic talents he hid while in captivity. But he's free and he's coming after her.

Flynn and Cecelia can't keep fighting an enemy they can't see, especially if he can get into their minds. Sawyer and Elizabeth, also of Project Lazarus, join them, but will two supersoldiers be a match against

This book is just as fantastic, and just as heart-poundingly intense as the first one. I had heart palpitations during certain parts! Ms. Eden has done it again! With her intense looks into the mind of a killer, and her amazing characters who aren't always 100% perfectly good, living somewhere in the gray areas of good and bad, she shows how the monsters aren't always the bad guys.

Keep Me Close is book 2 of Cynthia Eden’s latest series titled Lazarus Rising. You can take the series title literally as these super soldiers have returned admittedly broken, psychopathically quirky and greatly skill enhanced. Whatever they were like personality wise they are more so now. With superb writing and intricate plot structure this is a series that is completely captivating.

Flynn, former Navy SEAL is at the center of this story along with psychiatrist, Dr. Cecelia Gregory. It is a story if trust, love and self-acceptance as they battle against the forces that are out to hunt them down. Their romance is like Flynn over the top, especially with his possessive and obsessive tendencies.

Keep Me Close proceeds at a breath-taking speed with many twists and turns revelations and new unknowns. Like the first book in the series, events from the past come into play along with some people not always being exactly as they seem. As the overall theme expands, new characters are brought into the group. I highly recommend this series be read in order for the most enjoyment.

I love Cynthia Eden and have read all of her books. I had a very hard time with this story line, very unbelievable. I was very disappointed in this series

The second book in the Lazarus Rising series just may have surpassed the first!

Flynn and Cecilia’s romance was touched on in Never Let Go as they were the main secondary characters but let me tell you that it in no way prepared me for just how turbulent and emotional their road to happiness would be. Of course, the sizzling attraction that flared every time they were in each other’s company proved to be undeniable as this couple grabs reader’s hearts and have them holding their breath. Cecilia’s past tugs at emotions while providing ammunition for the bad guys in some disturbing turns and Flynn may be a bit rough around the edges but that didn’t stop me from developing a major crush on this tormented soldier.

Keep Me Close drives readers to the edge with thrills and surprising twists in a plot that plot that is a perverse maze of obstacles and betrayals. The story retains its page turning status as new characters are introduced previous characters reappear including one of the bad guys who delights in the torment of Cecilia. The story draws a range of emotions from readers including curiosity, wrath directed at the enemies and empathy toward characters as they deal with all of those obstacles that are thrown in their paths to happiness.

I was so looking forward to reading Keep Me Close as I just read Never Let Go, so as soon as I got this one, I started reading and was delighted when I couldn’t put it down until I had read every last word. Once again, Cynthia Eden has created a world full of thrilling suspense, dynamic characters, and an original plot that guarantees that readers want more, which means I am waiting impatiently for the number three, which thankfully is due to be released in December.

DAMN! The second book in Cynthia Eden's new Lazarus Rising novel is FREAKING INTENSE..both in HEAT and in ACTION! Every time I try to take my time with a new book from Cynthia Eden I find myself just rushing through them instead because they are so good. But Keep Me Close was ALL consuming and wild, and sexy, and definitely intriguing and scary!

Flynn is even more possessive than Sawyer was. And the connection between him and Cece was WHITE HOT...it was like lightening, their passion crackled with heat. And the danger was even deadlier and more spooky. The adrenaline was RUSHING through me with every turn of the page and I loved the feeling. This is SO my favorite series from Miss Eden and I can't wait for more, for which I hope there are MANY more because this series is UTTERLY AMAZING!

Keep Me Close gets a RIVETING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Flynn will just take your breath away!

Well book two in this series catches up with the couple that previously had a more supporting role. Reanimated super soldier Flynn might not remember his past but he does know that he wants psychiatrist Cecelia. They escaped the lab together and after laying low Cecelia is positive she wants to get back to work but everything starts going wrong when a murderer starts playing games. This serial killer might have slipped through the net before but now he's back and even more determined to reel in his victim but this time he's enhanced ! Yes it's clear that Flynn isn't the only one obsessed with Cecelia.
I'm loving this mixture of suspense and paranormal with it's highly original plot. There are several characters of note here so clearly the author has numerous different definitions in which to take the overall story arc. However as much as I liked Flynn there was just something about Cecelia that didn't gel well. Yes she's a survivor but her numerous exes that show up just didn't add much to my understanding of her character. We are told she's a woman who enjoys flirting with the dark side but honestly the hints and lack of any evidence just felt odd. Still it did mean Flynn could get all growly and possessive which was highly entertaining.
Why a four ? This would have been a five but I hated the end ! Oh it's a good story and I really enjoyed the emotional pull not to mention the very twisted past that Cecelia clearly has but after so much thrown in with such a lot are of baggage to traverse the ending seemed so flat ! Still I will look out for the next book and hope for another thrill a minute romance.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
