There’s nothing better than friends find love for each other. It just really warms my heart when I read this trope and Katee Robert did a phenomenal job of making this engaging and fun and all around sexy!
For me, the best part of the story was the unique twist of Lucy having Gideon help her in the bedroom … Gideon has always wanted Lucy for himself so here’s his chance to rope her in completely, right?! I was super giddy reading all of this. It warmed my heart completely.
I’ve read quite a few books by this author and she honestly never disappoints. I’ve also now read five books from this new imprint by Harlequin Carina Press, DARE, and I am just highly impressed on all fronts!

It's been a while since I read a book by Katee Robert and I have to admit I'd forgotten how much I enjoy her stories. I'm a sucker for a friends to lover romance though so I could't resist requesting Make Me Want and I'm so glad I did, I'm definitely going to have to start catching up on the rest of the author's backlist now!
This is part of Harlequin's new, and extra spicy, Dare range and I wasn't disappointed, it had the perfect amount of romance and smut and because the relationship was built on friendship it never felt rushed. Lucy's cheating ex left her with very low self-esteem, she's been single for two years and has decided that it's time to get back out there to try to find a husband but she feels like she needs a confidence boost before she gets started. She thinks Gideon could be the perfect solution, he's not looking for a long term relationship but she knows he respects women and has plenty of success finding willing partners so thinks he'll be the perfect man to give her a few pointers in the bedroom. Little does she know that Gideon has been secretly crushing on her for years and once he gets a taste he'll do whatever it takes to make their arrangement permanent.
I loved Lucy, she was treated badly in the past and it understandably knocked her confidence but she's a woman who knows what she wants and one she gets over her embarrassment she's not afraid to ask for it. She gives as good as she gets both in and out of the bedroom and I really respected her for that. Gideon is great too, he's always had a thing for Lucy and nobody else has ever come close but he never acted on that because she was dating one of his friends. The chemistry between them was scorching hot and they're both quite adventurous so we get treated to plenty of dirty talk, a very hot video call and sex in public places. There was a little drama at the end that I really could have done without but it wasn't enough to stop me thoroughly enjoying this story and I'm definitely looking forward to continuing this series.

3.5 stars--MAKE ME WANT is the first instalment in Katee Robert’s contemporary, adult MAKE ME erotic, romance series, part of DARE, Harlequin’s new imprint focusing on strong women and the men they love. This is corporate head hunter Gideon Novak, and attorney Lucy Baudin’s story line.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Lucy and Gideon) MAKE ME WANT follows attorney Lucy Baudin as she becomes desperate in her climb to the top. Up for partnership at the legal firm where she works, Lucy suspects that as a strong, independent single woman she may be overlooked for promotion therefore finding a husband is on the top of her list. Enter her former friend and corporate head hunter Gideon Novak, and the man with whom Lucy will fall in love. While Gideon goes in search of prospective husbands, Lucy has a more personal request of her own-lessons in the art of sexual seduction-from the man himself. What ensues is the building friends to lovers relationship, and the potential fall-out when Gideon realizes he is in too deep.
MAKE ME WANT is an erotic, sexy and edgy story about one woman’s desperate attempts to make partner in the firm, and one man’s need to beg forgiveness for sins of the past. Lucy’s last relationship ended when she discovered the man that she loved was having an affair-a man who was best friend’s with our story line hero. Gideon has always loved Lucy Baudin from afar but lost his chance when his best friend Jeff went in for the kill. Hoping to right a wrong from the past Gideon agrees to help Lucy knowing that in the end, he could lose the woman that he loves.
The relationship between Lucy and Gideon is a friends to lovers romance; second chances of a sort for two people lost in a world of betrayal and hurt. As their lessons in sexual seduction grow more spontaneous and romantic, the predictable is about to happen as Gideon forces himself to walk away believing he is not worthy of our heroine’s love. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.
We are introduced to Gideon’s partner and friend Roman Bassani, and Lucy’s sister Becka Baudin. Roman’s story line is next in Make Me Crave.
MAKE ME WANT is a predictable story line with a foreseeable fall-out for all concerned. The premise is entertaining; the characters engaging; the romance sexy and hot but I have to question why a powerful attorney would stoop to such an arrangement without considering the possibility of falling in love- the believability is problematic.

Katee Robert always writes sexy books. Lucy has put her personal life on hold to focus on her professional life. When she reconnects with Gideon who is her exes friend, she realizes they have an attraction. Both characters fight their feelings as just try to satisfy their attraction but eventually realize their feelings. It’s s fun sexy book that makes you smile.

4.5 stars
Katee Robert can do no wrong in my book. I love the way she does her building of relationships. This was a couple who had a past as people who knew each other through her fiancee... and this man had to tell her the fiancee was cheating...Not a way to remain a friend...
Years have gone by and our gal is up for a promotion... but the powers that be think she needs to show how stable she is... ie: a husband...
She is desperate and asks the past friend to find her one as he is a corporate headhunter...He owes her...and before you know it he is annoyed with any of the men he is thinking of setting her up with ... because he has always wanted her...even back in the day.

After the devastating breakup with her fiancé Lucy’s whole focus has been her career and she has moved up the ladder at the law firm where she works quickly. Her chances of making the next step up the corporate ladder would increase if she married so she calls an old friend to see if he would be willing to help.
Gideon was friends with Lucy’s fiancé and they became friends as well. Although he did tell her the truth about her fiancé he regrets he didn’t tell her soon so when she asks for help to find a suitable husband he can’t refuse. Lucy’s ex has also left her with low self confidence when it comes to seduction so he agrees to some one on one teaching.
The heat between the two is intense but what happens when Gideon wants to change the rules and he wants her to pick him rather than the other matches?
This is a steamy story with just the right amount of emotion and Gideon will make you swoon as he helps Lucy regain her confidence. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Holy crap, what an amazing book. Katee Roberts has seriously outdone herself on this this book. Make Me Want is a smoking hot read with characters that make you love them. Lucy and Gideon are absolutely perfect. I can't wait for more in this series.

Katee Robert has once again created a sexy romance with compelling characters! Make Me Want takes readers on a wild ride as Lucy Baudin hires head hunter Gideon Novak to find a husband for her and also to help get her groove back.
Lucy's ex killed her self-esteem in and out of the bedroom. However, in order to get the big promotion she's gunning for she decides marriage will give her an advantage. That's where Gideon comes in. She knows his history as someone who doesn't have lasting relationships and thinks he would be the ultimate confidence builder. But even after they come to an agreement they can't keep their feelings for each other uninvolved. Gideon has wanted Lucy from the first time they met so he jumps at the chance to spend time with her. The lines blur easily because of their mutual attraction, but it also causes them to stress out over their changing relationship.
Make Me Want is a fast paced read told in alternating perspectives. Both characters have distinct voices that make them seem relatable. It's part of what makes this story so easy to read and stay engaged in. Though I wanted to see a bit more confrontation between Lucy and her ex, the connection between Lucy and Gideon was more than enough to make this a well-rounded read!
Katee Robert's writing is always flawless, so I was not at all surprised that I didn't want Make Me Want to end! Thankfully, the next story, Make Me Crave, is on it's way!
*ARC provided in consideration for review*

Lucy is insecure in her ability to attract and keep a man, much less a husband, which is the main requirement she wants to fill. Picking Gideon to give her "lessons" is supposed to be a means to an end, but moments of honesty have her second-guessing her plans.
Gideon is drowning in guilt. He feels responsible for Lucy's esteem issues, so he decides to help her out. What he doesn't let her know is that he's in love with her. Determined to be the bigger man, he sets her up on dates only to realise that he's lying to himself about how easy it would be to let her fall in love with someone else.
This is a hot, yet satisfying read. Yes, we know by heart how these tropes go: feelings develop even when we plan to avoid them and create escape hatches and contingencies. However, Katee Robert delivers a story with two characters that you can't help but wait with baited breath to see how they'd end up together.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book

I am huge fan of Katee Robert! I loved this O'Malley series as well as her Hidden Sin series so I was excited when I was offered Make Me Want.
Make Me Want is a great quick story and I let me tell you this Katee Robert defiantly made me want more! I want more of this and I want it now lol.

MAKE ME WANT – Katee Robert
Harlequin Dare (eBook)

March 2018
Contemporary Series Romance
New York City – Present Day
Two years after breaking up with a fiancé who cheated on her while hammering her self-esteem, Lucy Baudin is looking for a guy…to marry. To facilitate the search, Lucy asks an old friend, Gideon Novak, who is a company headhunter. Lucy is secretly attracted to him, but he rarely dates one woman beyond two weeks. However, Lucy wouldn’t mind an erotic fling with Gideon and decides to test him by adding in an outrageous demand.
Gideon is hesitant about Lucy’s request to find a mate for her, not only because that isn’t his expertise, but because deep down he knows he’ll be jealous. Then, Lucy drops a shocker. She wants his help in the sex department. Lucy insists that in addition to finding her a man, Gideon must teach her sexual techniques…intimately.
It’s a bold request by Lucy in MAKE ME WANT and one that will singe the pages. She once thought her ex was the right man for her, even after he constantly criticized her about her looks and sexual prowess, but she ended things when she was told—by Gideon—that he was cheating on her. It’s been a long road back, with no dating, but now she needs a husband to help further her career at the law firm she works for. Gideon is stunned at Lucy’s request for sex, but he knows that if it isn’t him that helps her, she could turn to someone else. And he doesn’t want that to happen!
To say that MAKE ME WANT is hot is an understatement. The sexual chemistry between Lucy and Gideon is scorching, and every time they’re around one another, all they can think about is the other. Oh, Gideon does line up a few dates for her, but he’s envious and wants to be Lucy’s guy, even if he’s not the commitment type. As they continue to sizzle in the bedroom, it soon becomes apparent that they’re perfect for each other. Will Gideon change his tune about remaining a bachelor? Will Lucy get the man she really wants…Gideon?
In MAKE ME WANT, Gideon and Lucy discover which buttons to push on each other and their sexual frustration soon turns into hot sex between the sheets. Lucy and Gideon’s vulnerabilities will endear themselves to readers, who will surely enjoy this tale as much as I did. If you’re looking for a taste of Harlequin’s new Dare line, then I highly recommend you grab a copy of MAKE ME WANT at your favorite online bookstore.

Make Me Want is a contemporary romance putting a new slant on the marriage for convenience trope. Being part of Harlequin's DARE imprint it definitely has a sexier than usual twist. Lucy and Gideon's relationship definitely was more complicated than the average matchmaker and client. She used to be his best friend's fiancee and he definitely felt more for her than what was appropriate. Now two years later they meet up but its not the reunion Gideon was expecting. Lucy needs a husband to get promoted and he happens to be the best headhunter in the field. There is one small condition to the assignment, Lucy needs a tutor, a sex tutor that is and for her there is no one better than Gideon.
Katee Robert needs no introduction in the contemporary romance fields. She specializes in sexy, erotic and just a little bit beneath the surface emotional. She wields words to make readers feel every gamut of emotion that her characters experience and Make Me Want definitely delivers on all aspects. Lucy and Gideon definitely have chemistry and their sexual encounters will need a blast of cold air to cool down readers. Both Lucy and Gideon develops personally especially when they both realize when their only sex relationship has become something more. Make Me Want lives up to its title.

Lucy and Gideon's history is a bit messy to say the least. They haven't seen each other in 2 years and now Lucy needs his help with scoring a husband. I could just feel and imagine the struggle it took Gideon to agree to this crazy demand with him being in love with her for so long.
Their chemistry was smoking hot. I really like how patient he was with her and his determination to bring down all of her walls to see him for who he is.
»Pick me! «
Never have I ever felt those words strike a chord in me like I did this time. I guess it has something to do with being in a similar place a life time ago, but those two little words had seal the deal for me; I loved it – it's as simple as that!
I can't wait to see what mess Roman cooks up in the next book :)

2.5 stars
can somebody tell me what the cover dude's name is, asking for a friend-
ANYWAY,
WELP I expected more from Katee because I love her books but this one didn't do it for me. I couldn't care less for the characters, and I didn't feel their chemistry at all. I'm sad because there was so much potential and yet it fell flat for me.
Will keep an eye out for Roman's book, tho.

3.5 Stars
Helllllooooooo Katee Robert.
Welcome! Glad to meet ya.
Sorry for the serenade but… THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Still. While reading this I considered dialing a friend, because HHHHHAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!
Reading Make Me Want I more than once wished for a warning label and maybe my own personal freezer. Someone should put a blast chiller option on kindles. I needed one.
What prompted me to click the request button are:
(a) The dude on the cover kinda looks like Carter Dane so my first thought was, “why is CD on the cover of some MF smutticilicicousness?” which quickly segued into a brief episode of wish fulfillment along the lines of, “has CD decided to widen the playing field?” Then I expanded the photo and realized my mistake.
*epic sad face is epic*
Congrats, Alex Mecum!
*fake smile*
*grumbles*
(b) The main character’s name is Gideon!
What? I have a name kink. Don’t judge.
This Gideon is eerily reminiscent of another (also slightly Neanderthalish) Gideon I’ve lusted over read before and while Sylvia Day might take exception to the similarities, my thoughts are more akin to…
The story itself is not groundbreaking and rife with non/miscommunication with a heaping of martyr syndrome that I loathe. Lucy is up for a promotion at her good ole boys law firm and won’t get it unless someone puts a ring on it. Gideon’s a friend of her ex-fiancé and was once hers too, so that coupled with his reputation as a skilled headhunter, leads her to hire him to find her a suitable husband. His reputation as a sex gawd leads her to ask him for “lessons” on how to have the HILLY DILLY amazingly since her ex told her she was a bad lay. Can you say projecting, boys and girls?
Regardless, the boning is top-notch! On the couch, on a conference table AT A FANCY SCHMANCY CLUB, a naughty video chat, in a lingerie dressing room and they did make it to the bedroom a couple times. Gideon’s also on the bossy/toppy side too! I mean…
Seriously, this thing should come with a complimentary box of wipes, a pack of cigs and some Gatorade.
I will most definitely be reading the next in this series. One-handed, but still. Now that I know what I’m in for I will be prepared like the devoted Girl Scout I am to see Roman getting his swerve on!
Recommend to… hells bells, you know who you are.

The fantasy comes to life. Katee Robert has a knack for allowing readers to live vicariously through her imagination. Whether naughty, dangerous or heartbreaking, her characters call to the little voice inside yearning to escape. Make Me Want is a passionate tango of lust, love and liberation. One woman's quest to unlock her inner vixen, brings her heart's desire. HOT!

A successful lawyer hoping to make partner by getting married to appease her conservative bosses, Lucy Baudin has few options. After a devastating breakup, she hadn't dated in two years. Her former friend Gideon Novak is a headhunter, so she hires him for a deceptively simple job: find her a husband and teach her to regain her confidence in the bedroom.
This is a steamy friends-to-lovers trope, so fans of this will be delighted. It's clear from the outset that Lucy and Gideon are perfect for each other, even with the ridiculous setup and their emotional hangups. Of course, Gideon will get jealous when Lucy dates the men he finds for her. Of course, he will feel as though he had taken advantage of the situation. Of course, Lucy will compare her dates to Gideon. Of course, they will confront her ex, who has no redeeming features in the novel whatsoever. It's how we get there that's the fun part, and why this trope is such a fun one to play with. Lucy is a likable and relatable character, confident in her profession but not in her personal life. We can all feel that way sometimes, which is why this happily ever after tale works.

I absolutely adore Katee Robert's books as they always deliver. It diesnt matter what genre she writes in (contemporary/erotica, suspense or mafia) I WILL read it. So when I saw she was writing a book for Harlequin's new racy Dare line, I could.not jump on this book fast enough! I loved Gideon and lucy. I thought their chemistry was hot and sexy and their connection intense. I could not get enough!
Lucy and Gideon have a history together. As the bestfriend of Lucy's ex-fiance, Gideon has been personally connected to Lucy for a long time. But when Lucy professionally contacts him for his headhunting abilities, it breaks all the rules. He must find this workaholic a husband and in the interim teach her all the ways to rock her future husband's world in bed. But when emotions get involved and lines get cross can Gideon and Lucy realize that what they giveaways wanted has been right in front of them all along?
I loved this story. I loved that their passion was so fiery and that the more time they a spent with one another they realized how great the other was. I did get frustrated with Lucy at times however as I felt she was so in her head all the time overthinking things. Likewise, Gideon's aboutface came out of nowhere and was SO random that I actually went back to see what I missed. But all in all It hought this was such a fantastic spin on a mathmaker/friends to lovers story and honestly hope we get Roman's story next!!
I would like to thank Netgalley and Harlequin for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review! Bravo! 4 stars!
