Wow! Wow! What a fun and scorching little read!! Make Me Want is the first book in the Make Me Series and is part of the DARE line from Harlequin. And let me tell you, this little novella is Hot Hot Hot!!!

Make Me Want follows the story of Lucy and Gideon. It is a great mix of a friends to lovers/fake relationship romance and if you know anything about me, you know I can't get enough of those. From the moment you meet Lucy and Gideon, the chemistry between the two of them is just off the charts. You can't help but root for these two as they burn up the pages together.

Overall, I thought this story was a lot of fun. The plot was very entertaining and I couldn't help but just devour this book. I enjoyed the characters and couldn't wait for their story to be told. I thought this story had the perfect balance of steam and romance and was happy that this story had little to no drama.

If you're looking for a hot and sexy read that can easily be read in just a few short hours, look no further and give Make Me Want a try!

I think this book is a pretty good start to the new Harlequin Dare line. The story is a bit edgier, a little more explicit, but still a very tasteful romance. The story, the dialogue and the setting are realistic and contemporary. I love that Lucy, is a high powered attorney that always wins. She wants a promotion, but since she works for old fashioned men, she feels like she might need to get married to secure the promotion. I don’t think this was meant in a disrespectful way, but it is still the reality for women in the workplace. Lucy is pretty much ready for an arranged marriage. She can’t trust herself to find the right guy. She tried and she is still recovering from the heartache and betrayal from her ex-fiance. She asks for some help from Gideon Novak, who was her ex-fiance’s friend (but her friend as well), because he is a successful headhunter who knows a lot of people. The reader will quickly see that Lucy and Gideon have a thing for each other and have for a very long time. Gideon can’t believe that Lucy is asking him to find her a husband, but he agrees because he feels partly responsible for what his cheating friend did to her. Lucy also asks Gideon for some sex lessons because she has been made to feel like she is totally inadequate in the bedroom based on what her ex used to tell her. Gideon is reluctant to agree to this outrageous request, but not because he doesn’t want Lucy, but because he doesn’t want to lose her friendship again *swoon*.

Hot sex ensues and you can tell that both characters are getting their feelings for each other all mixed up. Gideon finds it almost impossible to try to find a husband for the woman he loves, but doesn’t totally realize that he loves...you can see where this is going… It takes some meddling from others to get things on the right path for Lucy and Gideon. Fortunately, the reader gets to enjoy some scorching sex, witty dialogue and just an all out enjoyable story that will have you cheering at the end. Pick this book up if you are ready for a happy ending!

Gideon is a successful corporate head hunter, when his estranged friend Lucy, calls him up and requests him to find her a husband, he feels like he owes her, since he feels guilty for breaking up her engagement.

Gideon has always had feelings for Lucy and finding her a husband is going to be the hardest thing in the world, at least until he figures out that maybe he could fill that role for her!

This book is full of sexy off the charts chemistry. The sexual tension and between these two characters is scorching!

Definitely a one click author for me from now on!

Thank you to Net Galley and Harlequin Dare for providing me with an ARC copy of this book. All opinions are truthful and my own.
This book follows Lucy who needs a husband within the year to help her get the promotion she wants at work and in order to find her this husband, she asks one of her old friend Gideon for help as he runs a recruitment company. Gideon was also best friends with Lucy’s ex-fiancé and was the one who had to break it to Lucy that her fiancé was cheating on her.
Ok so my main issue here was the plot – the main point of this whole book was that Lucy needed a husband because otherwise she wouldn’t get the position as partner. She then goes on to mention that a previous co-worker went for partner but was overlooked and her male counter-part got given the position all because she was single. I just find that whole notion and concept so backwards and ridiculous and I honestly can’t believe that a book written in 2017 is using this as a plot point and as an excuse to find a blood fake husband to get around it!! Lucy is a lawyer and helps defend criminals, yet she stands for that sort of bullshit? What a lad of crap – I honestly can’t believe that her solution to this is to find herself a fake husband – it really annoyed me.
The other thing was that she not only asked Gideon to find her a husband, she also asked him to teach her ‘sex tips’ and basically give her sex lessons as her ex-fiancé told her one of the reason that he cheated on her was because she didn’t keep him satisfied in bed. I’m just going to interject here and say that I did enjoy that Lucy couldn’t shake the toxic things her ex said as I think it’s very realistic of coming out of a toxic relationship as all the bad things they said about you sticks with you the most and can leave you feeling like you’re not good enough for anything or anyone. So I definitely liked how this was shown in the book but I did think that the fact she was asking for bloody sex lessons from Gideon was a bit ridiculous. I mean there are god knows how many articles online to help or other ways she could help learn to improve her sex life without using Gideon.
So it’s obvious where this was going to go – Lucy develops feelings for Gideon and Gideon had feeling for Lucy way back when she decided to date Jeff over him so that wasn’t going to be made better by sleeping with Lucy. But what annoyed me again, was that despite Lucy having he balls to somehow date and marry and sleep with whichever random man that Gideon found to be her future, she couldn’t tell him how she felt?! She was willing to marry a complete stranger instead of simply telling Gideon how she felt and maybe marrying him instead. She had nothing to lose as he is meant to be finding her a bloody fake husband so why the hell did she not tell him and possibly have a fantastic life because of it! Gideon was just as bad – he also had nothing to lose and yet he still didn’t say anything to her despite having had feelings for her for however long – he’d rather find her a fake husband than admit his bloody feelings and it’s all a pile of crap.
The writing for this book is what saved it slightly but I couldn’t get over all the bad plot points which is why I rated this 2 stars.

Woman attorney needs a fake husband. Premise may be the same, but when Katee Robert writes the story, you know it’s going to be good. And she delivers. The is told from both POV and it works. Lucy needs a husband to attain the promotion she wants at her law firm and knows the only one she can help her is an old friend and headhunter, Gideon Novak. The issue, how to find a husband without Lucy finding out Gideon wants it to be him.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Make Me Want had a good set up. Lucy needs a fake husband so of course, the headhunter Gideon to take care of things but what they don't expect is that Gideon would very much like so to be Lucy's fake husband and teacher in bed. The story was set up in a way that I didn't really like it. It felt like Lucy was submissive in life and just going through motions, not really being her true self. I wanted her to embrace her life, take more control, instead of only thinking of temporary pleasures to satisfy her cravings.

Katee Robert does not disappoint. She's created two very human characters that the reader will like from the beginning. Their developing relationship is a great one.

With Make Me Want, Katee Robert gives readers an emotionally charged, smoking hot story. I love this author's books, and this one was no exception. Gideon and Lucy were two great characters with a shared past and an incredible chemistry between them. I loved the way Robert brought them together. I always enjoy a story where the two main characters start out with no intention of falling for each other. In the case of Lucy and Gideon, there was unresolved feelings from their past that had a ton of complications attached to them. I liked the way things developed between them both individually and as a couple. Lucy had some huge personal hurdles to get past due to her horrible ex, and Gideon was so caring and patient while helping her. I loved the way he was with her, and I loved the way he was usually so composed, yet lost control when it came to Lucy. Their connection was insane, and the intimate scenes between them were some of the hottest I've ever read. Overall, this was a great story that I recommend to anyone who enjoys sizzling hot romance, I am so thrilled that Roman will be getting his own book, and am looking forward to reading it.

I'm a big fan of The O'Malley series (and yes, I stalk the sites to see when the next ones come out!), so was looking forward to a different series from Ms. Robert. She did not disappoint! Almost didn't read the small preview for the next one, only because I knew I would want more. Now. And I did. There was not a single thing or two to point out that makes this a great book- just her writing and storytelling covers it all. I stay up way to late reading, and would rather be finishing the book while I'm working! THAT is a good story! I liked the characters, the story line, and the hint for more to come. All of our customers that I've introduced her books to love them, and I'm sure this one will be a hit too!

I LOVED this story so much! Sexy, but still sweet. A second-chance that should've been first. The story pulled me in and didn't let go!

This book seemed like an 89s romance. The fact that the heroine had to get married to get a promotion!? And then the guy becoming super possessive and jealous!? It just didn't seem like a contemporary romance
