Quick paced, funny, sexy story about an MC rider protecting and trying not to fall for the party planning sister of rival gang member.

I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for a review and I'd say that there is an essence to the story. Evie, who brings princess parties for kids to life, gets caught up between two rival biker clubs because of her brother's dealings. She wants to save her brother but also has to deal with being guarded by Rev, a rival biker who makes it known that he wants her.
There were scenes and events that felt forced and it seemed as though the author was rushing to get to the ending. If you like romance involving bikers and dirty talk, I'd love to know whether this did it for you.

Let me start off by saying MC books are not my thing. That being said, I struggled with this book.... a lot. I thought it was slow and I didn't really find it romantic at all. This the of books work for some people. but I am more of a sunshine and rainbows type of reader. This was not that at all.

"He's not Mr White Picket Fence and he's not promising me happily ever after."

"I feel free. Free and somehow safe at the same time because whatever Rev does to me, I trust him not to hurt me."

"I can't think when I'm around him--all I do is feel. Feel wonderful. Alive. On fire for him."

It's been a while since I've read a good biker romance, so when I heard that the new Dare Line from Harlequin was featuring one, I couldn't be more excited to check it out.

Ruled may be a short read, but I promise you this book packs a punch. The story-line was a lot of fun. I loved the danger and romance that this story had. The characters were engaging and kept me quickly turning the pages. From the moment I met Evie's character I just knew she was a force to be reckoned with. She understood the MC life better than most and wanted nothing more than to leave that part of her life behind. And Rev..He couldn't be more her opposite. Dedicated to the MC life and 100% dangerous. But, the moment he lays his eyes on Evie, he swears to protect her and make her his...

Overall, I thought this book was a quick and fun read. I enjoyed every second of it and couldn't stop myself from devouring it. For me, this book checked off all the boxes and had just the right mix of danger, drama, action and some seriously sinful moments. This is my first book by this author and I'm excited to check out more from her in the future.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Evie finished raising her brother Rocker after their father, also in a MC, is sent to Prison. Times were rough for them and Evie had even managed to start her own business, she provides parties for children (mainly girls) with princess dresses and a pink party RV.

Rev first see Evie in full Princess gear. He was there watching because he and his MC( Hard Riders) was looking for her brother Rocker. Rocker is part of a rival MC(Black Dogs) and has made a deal with Columbian's and Rev's MC wants him to back off with the deal. Rocker has gotten himself in over his head though...

Can Rev keep Evie safe?

When Rev approaches Evie she doesn't believe his story about Columbian's and guns. Of course her brother will not confirm or deny because as usual with a MC "it's club business". Rev has decided he will protect Evie as the Columbian's are looking at a way to get to Rocker.

Despite their attraction, there is quite a storm brewing between these two. Evie is pretty outspoken, hates MC and is protective of her brother. Rev will do whatever he has to do to protect "his brothers in the MC" and that means no Columbian's/guns. They do begin a physical relationship but Evie's denial about her brother stands in the way.

Will Evie's denial ruin a chance of happiness? Will it cost her life?

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it had a pretty good flow to it and I actually read it pretty quick.
Evie's devotion to her brother is totally realistic as she became a mother figure after their dad went to prison. Rocker loved his sister but as with MC's, the club comes first.

Rev was typical MC, his MC being primarily clean which is why they didn't want Columbian's or guns. As an MC man, his speech is blunt and to the point. He does truly care about her but she needs to come to grips about her brother and being involved with a MC man.

Ruled is a rocky ride across the world of motorcycle clubs, the ties that bind a man to the club and the woman who becomes a part of his life. It's edgy, gritty and dirty.
I have very mixed feelings about Ruled. It's hot as heck and the dirty, sexy times between Rev and Evie will burn up the sheets. However, it's also filled with rough edges and frustration, and it's not very romantic. I supposed it's unreasonable for me to expect a hard-edged biker to have a softer side and get all romantic but the romantic in me wants that.. Even when Rev is declaring his feelings for Evie, it's not very romantic. It's more of a take it or leave it kind of a situation. I would have liked it more emotional and mushy but that's just me.
I liked Rev. He's the Hard Riders MC's enforcer and he fixes problems. Evie's brother is a problem and that lands Evie in his sights. In all his dealings with Evie, he shoots straight. He's honest and truthful, and he does not hide who he is, what he does or where his loyalties lie. He's also rough around the edges and tough as heck. There isn't a gentle bone in his body but he's loyal, honorable and protective.
Evie was a difficult heroine for me to like. She liked her rules a little too much and she was also tough and unbending. I guess you need a spine of steel to deal with someone like Rev on equal footing or you'd get run over by him. She certainly held her own with him. I admired her for that but I didn't like the way she was so blinded about her brother and how that jeopardised her relationship with Rev. I understand unconditional love for family but I think she was very naive about her brother even when the evidence was right before her eyes. At least she finally came to her senses about her brother and about Rev but by then I was already majorly annoyed with her so even though she did something to redeem herself, I was not feeling too kindly towards her.
Although I enjoyed the story, I'm not sure if the whole MC world is for me. I love a tough, protective hero but I want them with a softer side to them. These MC heroes seems to be just all toughness with no softness. Vik's story is next and he's an interesting character. I might dip my toe back into the MC world for him.

This was a fun read. It had a great story and characters you could love and want.

What happens when a princess who wears dress up dresses and drive a pink RV meets a hunky biker? Attraction (obviously) and a story of romance and humor with a little suspense thrown in. Don’t get me wrong, at times I wanted to punch Evie’s brother Rocker. As a first time reader of Anne Marsh, I started the book with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. I really liked this book and will be reading more of Anne’s books.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly wanted to like this book but I didn't connect with the characters, it was slightly slow paced, and the plot wasn't exactly something I would be interested in. I'm still in the search for MC books with bad boys and good girls.

Not my thing. I didn't like the main character and especially didn't like the love interest. The writing felt crude.

This is a sweet story about a biker and a princess. A little bit. Kinda. It’s actually a story about Rev – a man in an MC – and Eve – a woman who dresses as a princess for birthday parties. These two meet when Eve’s brother, Rocker, gets involved with the cartel and his MC has now gone into Rev’s MC’s territory. Rev starts off by keeping an eye on Eve, but ends up liking her more then he thought he would/should. When he is told to kidnap her, he thinks there relationship is over. And it might be. I don’t want to ruin it for you. Overall, this story had everything I look for in a romance story. My only complaint, the story ended too soon.
This is my first book by this author and I greatly enjoyed it. I stayed up all night reading it since I was enjoying it so much. I look forward to reading Vic’s story next.

ARC received for review

It was just okay. It felt forced and rushed in places, and the ending was unbelievable. Lot of MC drama and sex. Eve sure didn't take any of Rev's junk, but her brother was all kinds of stupid.

Ruled is my first book by author Anne Marsh, but as soon as I read the synopsis I knew I had to read it. I love a MC series (they might just be my weakness) and add in a dirty talking alpha male like Jaxon Brady and I am hooked.

Rev is a naughty man, “You’ve got words. Effing use them.” Not as if she’s held back in the mouthy department before, so she can tell me if something I do fails to get her off." Evie does not beat around the truth, "she hands me a glass of tea and launches her opening salvo. “You can’t send me underwear.” I really loved this book, Rev was one determined man.
