This book is steamy, sexy, & romantic with a twist. Gemma has worked for Jack for a couple of years & has seen him in all his glory (literally & figuratively). She know that he is a billionaire that is compensating for the loss of his wife with as many women as he can (one night stands only). He doesn't want commitment just a good time. She accepts this & continues working for him, flaws & all. Then they have an unexpected encounter because sparks fly every time they're around each other. Jack wants to keep at it to get Gemma out of his system. Gemma is okay with that at first because she's getting to enjoy something she's admired from afar. Will this arrangement continue to work for both of them? I highly recommend reading to find out.

The office romance premise of this book, while nothing new, can be very fun when the characters are well-developed and the story is paced to engage and keep the pages turning. The break-neck pace of this story gave me whiplash. There was no build-up, no chance to develop feelings for the characters or become invested in the outcome of the story. There was no ebb and flow of the storyline, no teasing push and pull between the characters, the book started at one speed-setting and never veered from it. Jack was pushy, Gemma was needy; throw in a compulsory, out of left field, Mr. Darcy-Elizabeth Bennett reference; add some confusing point of view switches, and the book that had the potential to be a fun, sexy read, just lost me.

A brilliant read with sharp writing, intelligent characterization, and sizzling sexual chemistry between the two leads. Absolutely loved it.

Oh wow this is one fantastic book and it was such a pleasure to read. Had me hooked from the blurb and totally grabbed me in from the first page till the very last one. What a fantastic book this is and Clare connelly should be really proud of this book as us readers are just going to love it like I did. I would recommend

Readers of the Beautiful series by Christina Lauren would likely enjoy this. Has a similar feel to it. The writing is good just not as humorous as Christina Lauren.

Off Limits is exactly what you expect from a romance novel. Everything is predictable, but that's not all bad. It's predictable in a good way because you know once you start reading it you'll get exactly what you came for, including the happy ending with a nice ribbon around it. But it's predictable in a bad way because you know what you're getting--there are no surprises, no real twists that veer from the norm of the romance genre.

What was really unfortunate was the premise of the book: an employer and employee falling into a relationship. There's a lot of talk about power, which mostly comes from Jack executing power over his employee in the business world and the in bedroom. In the current climate of harassment and assault, this book had the poorest timing of all. It's probably not something you would want to read if similar stories in the current news cycle get to you.

This book was really hard to read. At some point I was looking for Jack to realize he was in love with Gemma. I didn’t like the fact I had to wait almost to the very end. I am really not that hard of a girl to please when it comes to romance books and this one was not my favorite.

At first my thought was that the main character appears to be lacking in the respect for women department. I was willing to overlook that for the time being because I believed there ro be an underlying reason and story there. Turns out there was somerhing there. As well as raunchy, steamy sex. I enjoyed every page. There was great chemistry with the characters. This was a nice quick read. I received the book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say I have been suitably impressed! I love Gemma and Jack's story! A scorching, fun and compelling read.This book hit all the high notes!

While attracted to each other from the start, they both know that the attraction is off limits. She ignores his exhibitionism, as she loves the challenges of the job. Until one evening when Jack notices that while she is cold to him, she is very warm and friendly to all the other employees, colleagues and business associates. She has been on his mind a lot and he finally looses control and decides he wants her, even though she is off limits. The story is well written, the characters are both well developed strong personalities and the conflict is real. Quite steamy.

Off Limits is a book about Gemma and Jack. Jack is Gemma’s boss and that’s why there cannot be a sexual relationship between them, even though they both want it. One day Jack’s crossed the line and since that day, they are addicted to each other. But will it last?

When I started reading Off Limits, I didn’t know this book was going to be this sexy. I started reading this book on the bus and I couldn’t stop blushing and hoping that no one was reading along. Off Limits is such a steamy hot romance book!

I really love Off Limits because it reminds me a little of Fifty Shades. It’s not that the sex is that similar, but the way it’s described and the way the book flows. Off Limits is such a fast paced read, I couldn’t stop reading. From the first page, I was completely hooked!

Clare Connelly is such a great author and I cannot wait to read more books written by her!

4.5- I thought that this book was a sexy and fun read!! I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book and the chemistry between Jack and Gemma steamed up the pages. The idea of the hot forbidden boss romance is so sexy and so fun. When Gemma tries to fight her attraction to her boss just how hard will she fight it, or how hard will he fight her? One night of late night work turns into a night of something else entirely, something so hot and could be so dangerous for them both. The late night together doesn't just change the work relationship but it also changes their emotional relationship. Having been hurt before Jack isn't willing to let his feelings grow for Gemma but can he really stop it?Thank you for allowing me to read this and write honestly about it.

Jack was someone that Gemma had secretly loved working with over the last two years. His playboy mentality was some what of a turnoff but she loved the challenge he posed. Each day was something new and there were days he would drive her utterly mad. Jack has been waiting for the moment when his little assistant becomes something more. A hunger consumes his every thought every time she is near. Fantasies are on a vivid loop and there are times he struggles to maintain his thoughts. Gemma tries to remain strong knowing Jack is who she secretly desired. One desire that would definitely change her world as Jack begins to heal from the death of his wife. Will he spend a night with Gemma or will evolve into so much more?

This may be a fast read, but it is no less steamy and sexy and full of story, than a full length novel. The sex was hot and there was a lot of it, everywhere. Once they unleash the attraction they’ve been holding back from each other (due to the boss/employee stigma), there is no stopping it. I really liked Jack, he was much more than he appeared to be. After everything he went through losing his wife so young, it’s no wonder he had issues. I liked Gemma too. She just wanted to escape the expectations that had been placed on her for so long and be her own woman. She turned out to be just what he needed and vice versa.
I would definitely read more from Clare.

Off the charts hot!!

Highly recommended for those days you need a lot of heat. Clare Connelly delivers a scorching story with great characters.

Overall, I wanted to keep reading, so I did. Jack, whilst he is a man whore, is very likeable. Gemma, not so much - I found her inner dialogue rather cold, and always 'hearing' how rich she was became boring. This is why I didn't give the book 4 stars.
Jack's wife has died, and he becomes a cold, hard man whore. Gemma's attraction to him is growing, and they finally hook up. It appears that once that occurs, Jack ceases his man whore ways. Towards the end, Gemma becomes rather likeable, the romance increases, as do the sharing of honest emotions. Ending was rather sweet.
Loved Gemma's grandma

Clare Connelly hits the ground running with Off Limits bringing her reader a sizzling sleeping-with-the-boss romance, and if this is a taste of what’s to come from Harlequin’s Dare imprint, then sign me up.

Jack Grant may be Gemma Picton’s boss, and a demanding one at that, but she’s pretty fearless with her sarcastic, pointed, witty retorts and it’s clear there’s chemistry. And if sex-fuelled shenanigans are what you’re after, then they seriously deliver.

“Two years of looks, laughs, infuriating arguments and differences of opinion have been leading to this.”

There’s no getting away from the fact that a large part of their story is centralised around how often these two can get down and dirty, and because of that it does lack depth in the first half. But when it comes it is worth it as Jack’s tragic past combined with Gemma’s feelings for him adds that missing emotional level.

“I have seen his dark places. All of them. And he has birthed new ones in me.”

All in all my first time reading this author, and this imprint, was a success so I can say with confidence, they’ll be seeing me again.

A steamy and hot read. Off Limits is the story of Jack, a billionaire businessman with a haunting past and who is trying to run from it and Gemma his in-house counsel. An interesting read for those interested in reading hot graphic sexual stories. It is a fun read

Oh my goodness! I totally loved this book! Jack was really a piece of work and he needed to be brought to knees by love. And Gemma was the one to do it. Since Jack was so caught up in his dead wife's memory. He seemed as if he had no heart. But he was a man of deep emotion. Extremely good read!
