My review .....
What a laugh. That was a fun read from start to finish.
McKenna is bright, sparkly, and a personality to match. (Considering the constant put downs from family and ex boyfriends) But she’s not happy, she’s stuck working in dead end job until her blog is a success (she wants to teach make up on line) but after the last boyfriend, McKenna decides enough is enough. And when a drunken evening’s internet ordering lands her order on her neighbour’s door, it gives McKenna an opportunity to redirect her focus.
Beckett is the total opposite, very serious, very Work orientated, but there is a reason, he wants a safe and secure home.(we find out why in the book) And the app he has designed will ensure that, but the backing from his future father-in-law is in jeopardy (his fiancée says he’s married to his job), so when an opportunity to win his future wife back, he grabs it with both hands. McKenna might just be his ticket to a secure future. But when he spends time with McKenna, he has to decide what he wants.
There were a few moments that had me cringing and laughing. The characters were very likeable and well written.
It’s a fun afternoon read.

McKenna Prescott is a very determined woman and will do anything to get her freelance makeup business up and running. So, when an opportunity presents itself to ask her neighbor Beckett Walsh to convince his sister to hire McKenna for her skills as a makeup artist for the woman's high-society wedding, Beckett decides to help her especially with what she's offering in return. Will McKenna be able to help Beckett win back his ex-fiancé, or will their plan backfire and give the pair a shot at happy ever after instead?

Ms. London's books are an absolute delight to read and this story was completely enthralling, fast-paced and a story I couldn't get enough of. Really, I was completely hooked right from the beginning because of the heroine's dilemma and how it leads to her coming face-to-face with the hero. Will the heroine be embarrassed because the hero knows what she's come to his door to get? Then again, what a better way to get over a break-up than to order what she does.

The dialogue was well-written, compelling and the perfect combination of intense moments and playful banter that had me loving this couple, especially how the heroine tests the hero when it comes to whether he's any good at dating. Will he succeed or fail? Moreover, both the main characters are incredible and I loved every moment the hero and heroine interacted, as McKenna gets Beckett to be more personable instead of bogged down in his work. I also liked how determined the hero was to take care of his family, even though it doesn't seem fair to him. Will he finally realize that he's not his mother's keeper? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is how driven he is when it comes to his work, even if his plan for getting his new app started makes him seem like he's willing to settle for mediocre happiness instead of true love. Luckily, that all changes with spending time with McKenna.

While the heroine, she's the black sheep of her family and it made me feel sorry for the way they treat her. Why couldn't they realize that she was happy with her life? Furthermore, she's strong and brave by continuing to put up with her family's constant judgment when it comes to her life. I also liked how determined she was to get her freelance makeup business up and running, because it's the only way she'll be completely happy. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is how much she challenges the hero and gets him to see that work and helping his family shouldn't be all he has in his life.

Overall, Ms. London has penned a remarkable read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance nicely-detailed and full of passion; and the ending had me charmed by the hero's determination to win back the heroine because there's no way he can live without her in his life. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up brilliantly, as the hero is incorrigible when it comes to the two of them and their adventures at weddings. I would recommend Trouble Next Door by Stefanie London, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Sarah Ballance, Kadie Scott, Avery Flynn and Tawna Fenske.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
At first glance, McKenna + Beckett do not like they would be a match.
When you go beyond the surface, you will see that they compliment each other.
When you find the one, you want to make the relationship work.
You want to be there for each other.
McKenna was going to help Beckett get the girl of his dreams.
Beckett thought that the woman of his dream was his ex-fiancee.
Little did he know that she was right there the whole time.
I loved the storytelling + the characters!

I thought this was a cute story neighbors who meet under certain reasons which I fond very funny. McKenna is taking a break from men as they don't find her to be the "one" type as she is too sparkly and likes to wear color outfits. Beckett is the total opposite of her a workaholic who's world just came crashing down when the backer for an app he is designing pulls the plug on his money because Beckett and his daughter breakup. McKenna tells Beckett she will help him get his girl back if he will help her get a job doing his sisters make up at her up coming wedding. well as they 2 start to hang out things turn complicated and neither knows what to do.
this was a very cute story and would like to read more from this author.

trouble next door all starts when mckenna dreamed up operation self love in order to get over her latest breakup. accidentally sending the sex toys she ordered to the grumpy hot guy across the hall was a mistake. and when she googles him and realizes beckett has connections that could lead to a big break for her makeup business she decides to ask for help.

so they come to an agreement in which in exchange for beckett passing mckenna's name on as a potential makeup artist for his sister's high society wedding, she will help him get back together with his ex. who he's mainly trying to smooth things over with because her father now refuses to be an investor in his startup. that sentence makes beckett sound like more of a jerk than he really is.

he is actually a good guy. more comfortable with computers than people, but once he actually notices mckenna, it's like he can't stop noticing her. and the reasons why he needs to reconcile with his ex, which even more than money are about habit, start to fade away.

and it's a very sweet story about two totally opposite people coming together in an unexpected way.

This is a cute, easy, enjoyable read that had plenty of fun with opposites attract and keeping things light. McKenna is sparkly and upbeat, Beckett is kind of gloomy and serious, but the two of them together were great.

I really liked McKenna. I loved her love of makeup and making women look and feel good, and I felt for her when it came to a lack of support from her family. She’s fun and light-hearted without being frivolous and I loved seeing her grow in confidence and take the first steps to building her own business.

I liked Beckett too, especially when it came to how accepting he was of McKenna and her quirks. He’s also deeply caring when it comes to his family. Which made it all the more disappointing about how he handles things with his fiancé. Maybe he was so focused on finances and the end goal to see the woman involved, but he’s so understanding and accepting of the other women in his life – McKenna included – that it seemed a little harsh that his fiancé didn’t merit the same consideration.

On the whole, though, this was lovely. Fun and light and easy, it reads like a bubbly tonic to a bad or difficult day. With added extra sparkles. Just what I needed on a chilly winter night.

When a package is delivered to the wrong home, it could lead to mystery, mayhem, or hilarity. Stefanie London’s latest contemporary romance, Trouble Next Door, is a light easy read. The premise is fun and the plot is highly predictable, however, Ms. London has added a few interesting twists that make her story an engaging read.

The highly sensitive contents of the package in question should have led to a lot more awkward embarrassment and laughs than it did. When McKenna retrieves her package of sex toys from her hunky neighbor, Beckett, he is surprised but rather stoic. McKenna in her embarrassment gives up the whole story behind her purchase. While I found that odd, I guess amicably living across the hall from one another does lead to some sense of familiarity for an outgoing young woman like McKenna.

The characters are highly likeable and have great chemistry. McKenna—with purple hair and bright pink lipstick—is vibrant and gregarious, however when it comes to her life and love choices, she is filled with doubt. Her bad choices in men and her family’s strong judgment have paralyzed her emotionally. Beckett, who has an adoring mother and sister, feels the strain of needing to take care of them. Stereotypically, he doesn’t want help and wants to do everything on his own. However, McKenna absolutely slays this drop-dead gorgeous geek. Can he learn to compromise in order to keep this woman in his life?

Trouble Next Door is a quick fun read that left me smiling.

Trouble Next Door is a fun romantic comedy that will leave you wanting more. Stefanie London has written a fantastic book and I don't know why I haven't read more from her already.

McKenna wants to start her own makeup business and decides that since she is giving up men she will focus on that. When a package she ordered is delivered to the wrong person, she meets her sexy neighbor, Beckett. Too bad that mix up was super embarrassing and hilarious. Beckett is essentially married to his job which costs him his fiance and her dad's money for his startup. He makes a deal with McKenna to get his sister to hire her for her wedding in exchange for McKenna teaching him how to get his fiance back. Of course, it isn't going to be easy.

Beckett reminds me of a few of my guy friends with his geeky ways and I loved this! I wasn't sure if I was going to like McKenna at first but I ended up really liking her by the end. I was smiling pretty much the entire time I was reading this book and it's been a stressful couple of months so I really needed that! I look forward to reading more from this author.

For me, the blurb of this book was so much cuter and better than the actual story :-( I'm not so sure what was missing but as I began reading, I found myself getting bored with the pace, the plot, the characters. Sigh. Which is why it took me so long to finish this book. It wasn't bad... I'm just meh about it. Sorry. Not keeping this one.

Just imagine, you've been dumped by your boyfriend after discovering you've chosen the wrong man yet again. That's what happened to make-up artist McKenna Prescott. She's fed up of always doing that so now she's going to make time to learn more about herself - starting by ordering some sex toys to experiment with! The only problem is she was slightly - okay, very - drunk when she placed the order . . . . and got the apartment number wrong. Now she's going to have to collect her package from her handsome neighbour and entrepreneur, Beckett Walsh, preferably without him discovering what's in it!

Beckett is so focussed on his job that his girlfriend has broken their engagement - and her father has withdrawn his financial backing from Beckett's latest start up venture. He needs the money to make his plans work. When McKenna offers to teach him about women so he woo his fiancée back again in exchange for him helping to get his sister to hire McKenna as her wedding make up artist, it seems he has a good plan . . . . but as he and McKenna work together and get to know each other, deciding on who should be partners is open to conjecture as love intervenes in unexpected ways!

I've enjoyed many stories by this talented author and have to add this one to that list! The author brings her characters to life, helping readers empathise with their dilemmas, angst and turmoil and creating a great read that I have no hesitation in highly recommending.

I requested and received a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

I’m going to keep the format I’ve been using for the last few reviews. It’s easy and practical, eheh.

THE POSITIVE:

♥ The writing, this book is fun and fast paced. It just flew by. Even if I’m not the biggest fan of the 3rd person POV, Stefanie London did a great job on this one, and managed to give different voices to each of the characters, even through the third person perspective.

♥ The characters were awesome. I loved McKenna, she was so unique. And having a main guy who is an introvert? Yes please!

♥ The romance was great and McKenna and Beckett had tons of chemistry. I really enjoyed their time together.

THE NEGATIVE:

♦ I was expecting more development on the story, especially after the fallout, and in terms of their family lives. A lot was talked about McKenna’s relationship with her family, and Beckett’s family too, but in the end, everything was wrapped up fairly quickly, and I felt like some things were missing.

♦ Even though I really liked the romance, I expected more of Beckett and I was disappointed with him for a little bit (even understanding his reasoning), and I wish, once again, that certain things had been explored a little more.

OVERALL, VERY CUTE AND FUN READ, AND I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT. PERFECT FOR A RAINY, LAZY AFTERNOON.

From its hilarious beginning to the sexy and sweet ending, Trouble Next Door is So. Much. Fun! I had an absolute blast reading McKenna and Beckett’s romance – it was energetic, flirty, sexy, and even heartwarming at times.

Beckett is a serious hero in need of a shakeup. His childhood made him crave stability for himself and his family and he’s completely focused on making the app he’s working on a success. To launch said app, he needs funding and since his ex-fiancée’s father was his biggest investor… Well, things aren’t going too well for Beckett at the beginning of this book. I admired his intelligence and focus and the clear love he had for his family. Beckett definitely has his flaws, but at his core he’s a kind, loving man who is trying to do his best. His world is knocked off-kilter by McKenna, which made me grin more than once. She’s bright, sparkly, and has a larger-than-life personality that I absolutely loved. McKenna is stuck working the beauty counter until she can launch her career as a makeup artist. She’s got talent and determination, but after years of her family beating her down because she doesn’t fit their mold, she is somewhat vulnerable. Her passion for her work and her love of makeup shines and was actually one of my favorite things about Trouble Next Door. When an author really enjoys something and incorporates it into the story, it comes through, adding extra life to the book.

As individuals, McKenna and Beckett are great. As a couple, they’re dynamite. Even when they start out as friends, with McKenna trying to help him get his ex back, they have great chemistry. They’re supportive of one another, they actually listen to each other talk about their work and goals, and that’s fantastic. Add in sizzling chemistry that can’t be denied and it’s easy to see why I absolutely hated having to put Trouble Next Door down. The characters, the romance…there’s such a bright, popping personality to this book that I smile even just thinking about it.

Trouble Next Door is the first book I’ve read by Stefanie London but there’s no way it’ll be my last. I loved Ms. London’s writing; the humor, romance, and character growth was on point and I will definitely be glomming up her backlist. There are some books that just make you happy when you read them, and that’s what Trouble Next Door was for me.

Trouble Next Door by Stefanie London is the story of McKenna Prescott and Beckett Walsh.
McKeena comes from a smart family but she is more of the creative one in the bunch. But Mckenna is going through a break up where she decided to take a break from dating...but did order a 'stress reliever' that accidentally got delivered to her neighbor Beckett. Beckett is working on getting his ideal into reality when he goes through a break up with the investor daughter So Beckett is having his own issues.
Their story was a little different then the normal rich guy with working girl. Beckett is trying to get his company on good footing...so he isn't well off. This is also a really funny romance that I really enjoyed.

A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This was a fast read. I was conflicted about the characters McKenna seemed strong but lacked self confidence and Beckett seemed closed off emotionally. I couldn't really connect with them but it was interesting to read about make up artist as I know nothing about that. I am sure that many readers will love this book. It just wasn't quite my thing. I rate it a 3.5. If you like romantic comedy then I say give this a try. I did think the opening was hilarious!!!

Starting a new book, especially by a new (to you) author, is always a minefield of questions. Will it be any good? Will I like the characters? Will it be as good as the blurb makes it out to be? Well, when in the first few pages you find this: "God, of all the bloody packages to go missing..." and the package in question contains adult toys; you just know the book is going to be funny!

Stefanie London is a new author for me, but Trouble Next Door certainly won’t be the last book of hers that I will read. One star is automatically given for Stefanie being an Australian author (I will ignore that she is currently living elsewhere) and successfully basing her book in an Australian setting. I have been lucky enough to read a few new (to me) Australian authors this year, and I’m so proud that the world is starting to recognise the gold mine of talent we have here.

The remaining stars are purely based on the quality of Stefanie’s work. Trouble Next Door is a lovely light read, but not emotionally bland. We are presented with the full range of human emotion: humour, love, embarrassment, confusion, betrayal, lack of confidence, indecision, and just a little angst thrown in for good measure.

I really enjoyed Stefanie’s writing style. It flowed very well, and the switches between the two POVs of McKenna and Beckett were smoothly done so it simply flowed from one to the other. Characters were very well done. It was easy to sympathise with both McKenna and Beckett, and both were genuinely likable people. Secondary characters were developed enough according to their role in the story. This book did not feel one dimensional or flat. All the characters were very much alive on the page.

I very much enjoyed Stefanie London’s Trouble Next Door and would have no hesitations in recommending it to someone who is looking for a light read with heart.

This was such a fun read. I loved the level of humor in this novel. Romantic comedy type books are my favorite and this one was pretty good. I enjoyed that Beckett was the strong silent type but was not a jerk, which I feel is typically what strong male characters are turned into.
