It is a great read for the holidays, especially if you want to curl up with your kindle and a warm blanket, maybe with a cup of hot tea, and get caught up in story full of romance and suspense. The protagonists are engaging characters, it's easy to like them. Thanks for the copy!

Chelsea Caldwell is right back where she started, seeing ghosts and being the talk of the town. Yet there's something sinister happening in the small town of Jenkins Cove, and Chelsea might just be the person to uncover it.

It felt like this book couldn't decide what it wanted to be. Romantic suspense, paranormal romance? Each separate classification would've worked, unfortunately, mixed together created an unfortunate mess.

The characters were bland and dull, the plot got lost in the suspense/paranormal/killer/ghosts mess, and the romance left me utterly cold.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in return for my honest opinion.

I have read many of Rebecca Yorke's books and always loved them, this book is no exception. A Wonderful cast of characters and a great Christmas read, after I finished it, I ordered and read the other two books in this trilogy.

This is the first book of a trilogy written by 3 different authors, and the story will continue in the next book with different couple. It's a fabulous PNR and a fast and enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to what’s to come in book two!

A new cozy series that has Chelsea returning to Jenkins Cove to help her aunt run her B&B. Just because she has a spirit room set aside for ghosts shouldn't be a surprise. When Michael arrives to debunk the ghost stories surrounding the inn he gets involved with Chelsea and quickly revises his ideas about ghosts. This new paranormal series is a nice read, Return to Jenkins Cove series will have three books. Rebecca York is the author of numerous books.

The first book in a Trilogy. Interesting twist, with three authors writing one of the books in the series. This is the first, and is the romance of Chelsea and Michael. A good, albeit creepy story for Christmas, with a lot of dark stories swirling around. A lot of young people being murdered, bodies cut up for parts, etc. Chelsea, home to help her aunt run the B&B, is able to see ghosts. Michael, a journalist there to debunk her, and they both get caught up in trying to escape someone trying to kill them. A good introduction to the other characters, and sets a good foundation for the other books to come. Highly recommend this book and series, but also strongly recommend you read them in order.

Christmas Spirit begins the Return to Jenkins Cove trilogy written by three authors. Each story is complete in itself with threads woven throughout all of the stories.

Chelsea never wanted to see or communicate with ghosts. It was simply something that was and she had no control over. This fact has messed up a lot of things in her life – like being the subject of whispers and rudeness from those who believe she’s a fraud. She tries to not let those people get to her, but it’s not easy. Now there are ghosts demanding justice, a mystery to solve, danger all around her… and one man who is not what he claims tugging on her emotions. She wants to believe in Michael’s attraction to her, but there’s just something about him that doesn’t ring true. She has to trust him for he seems to be there when she most needs his help, but how can trust survive based on lies.

Michael is determined to show Chelsea for exactly what she is… a fake out for her own fraudulent purposes. There are no such things as ghosts who speak from beyond the grave. Dead is dead. His mother’s need to contact his dead father showed him exactly the type of people who would drain a person dry in their schemes to steal money, hope and normal lives. He was pretending to be something he wasn’t when he arrived at the bed and breakfast, he hadn’t intended on caring about this woman… or questioning his own solid beliefs. But things were happening that he could not explain, a mystery that needed solved, justice that had to be found. Even if it meant he had to readjust his thinking. The danger to Chelsea is very real, and Michael will do anything to keep her safe – including believing her abilities to talk to the dead.

Christmas Spirit will grab your attention and hold on to you until the end… even when you know there is more to come. Chelsea and Michael make an intriguing couple, and the danger from the living is just as real as the ghosts they encounter. I enjoyed their adventure into romance and definitely will continue with the rest of this trilogy. Combining two of my favorite genre, Christmas Romance and Paranormal Romance just makes this one all the more enjoyable for me. I’d recommend this story to any reader who loves things that go bump in the night, a mystery to solve and engaging characters to care about.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Some books have the perfect combination of components to make them a hit. Christmas Spirit is one of them. There is mystery, steamy romance, and paranormal elements. The book is well written and intriguing and since the first chapter, I found myself wondering who was the person behind the crime and what did the ghosts want from Chelsea.

Though in spite of all the good stuff this book has in its favor and as much as I wanted to like it, I couldn't feel completely engaged with it. It started so well but then it dragged sometimes.

Still, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't become someone else's favorite.

Christmas Spirit is a fantastic story for the holidays, one where you can just curl up with a warm blanket and a cup of hot cocoa and get caught up in story full of romance and suspense.

Michael and Chelsea both are engaging characters that draw readers in with their holiday romance as both have to suspend their disbeliefs in order to push forward with their relationship. This keeps readers engrossed as they empathize with the characters while becoming caught up in the mysterious happenings that tests the couple’s beliefs.

The suspense builds as Chelsea and Michael try to figure out why someone is after them and what the ghosts are trying to tell them. This keeps the anticipation building as the reader tries to determine the outcome as well and I have to tell you that it was I didn’t see coming. The story is well written and the characters are developed which made it easy to feel as if I was part of the town and I shivered with delightful chills with each ghost visitation.

Rebecca York writes some delightful stories and this one is definitely one of them as she brought Jenkins Cove to life during a the holiday season and I can’t wait to visit Jenkins Cove again and see if I can uncover more of the mystery.

I really wanted to like this, but I could not connect to the characters and found the dialogue and plot a little stilted. Still, it is an intriguing plot, it just wasn't for me. DNF
