I really enjoyed reading this book! I've really enjoyed Amanda Stevens books, the mysteries are intriguing, and the romances, the couples just connect together so well! Ava and Dylan were characters that I wanted to read more of!

The idea of a group of college friends, scatted away over the course of time, reuniting, sounds like fun. Expect that someone has a grudge of some sort. Add the fact that one of their number died shortly before their separation, makes things pretty tense!

That Dylan was dating the girl that died, and then was starting something with Ava just before that occurred, well, yeah, it was complicated! And that they haven't seen each other in a long time...that was an awkward situation!

I really enjoyed the mystery, we had a very set character list, so who the bad guy was was limited, but there were a good number of possible motives, and a number of scares and possible accidents maybe on purpose! Loved when it all came out, that was a great ending! I just wish we could've had more!

Yeah, I just loved this book, and I can't wait to read more by Amanda Stevens!

Years ago a Harlequin Intrigue book had equal parts suspense & romance. These days, the romance seems to be lacking. The only author who knows how to write Harlequin Intrigue books is HelenKay Dimon. It has been a couple years since she last wrote one but what I liked best about her books in this series is her characters are very well developed, the suspense & intrigue is never ending and the romance has all the right feels. So I may be prejudiced but I just didn't quite get in this read because while there is drama & suspense, what happened to the romance? I assume anyone who purchases a Harlequin Intrigue is doing so because they want both the romance & the suspense. Eliminate one, what is the point of the other?

This is my own personal view so I still highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery. Just don't expect a lot of romance or "feels" out of it....

With an eerie and sinister atmosphere over the reunion weekend, the college friends come together to face the secrets of the past while stranded on a Texas ranch surrounded by the flood waters and no contact to the outside world.
This story stands out with its rare setup and plot, the dark and grim cloud hanging over the reunion, and the suicide of one of their own a decade ago that caused them all to drift apart. The story reminded me of the movie The Big Chill, and I have to say, it was well done in a smaller, more deadly, cruel, and bloody way.
The relationships are twisted, nothing is as it seems, the friends from college have moved on with their lives, and there is very little that holds them together anymore, very little that they share in life, except the toxic secrets they revealed in a twisted game they used to play.
Dylan Burkhart and Ava North fiery passion of their youth have left a mark on them that they have not forgotten over the decade. The first meeting is as awkward as one can imagine, yet there are feelings still simmering that could easily ignite given the chance.
A very intriguing and mesmerizing reunion mystery that had me glued to my Kindle. I could not put it down, I needed to know what, who, and why as the build-up kept getting bigger and more dangerous on each hour passed. Thus, the abrupt ending and halfway wrap up of both the case as well as the romance left me gasping for more. Yes, the culprit was found, but I would have loved to see it play a bit more in-depth towards the end, after such an intense, malignant crescendo.
Regardless, a potent, violent, and ardent, character-driven story that fascinated my mind and touched some deep, painful issues like a friend's suicide and the mental pressures of returning to civilian life after military service. A thrilling reading experience one has to experience, for sure!

Many years ago a friend committed suicide and Ava, Dylan, and the group of friends eventually separated ways. That was until they were invited to a reunion and things aren't looking too good, with the weather going bad and cryptic messages left for the friends it seems a secret about the death of the friend might have something more to it.

I liked this book it was short and it had just enough of everything to keep things interesting. I was able to read this book in a couple of hours and had a hard time putting it down. I kept wondering when some other sinister clue would pop up. Wondering what was really going on if everything was about Tony and what he was doing or if its really about Lilys suicide. Then there was the point of questioning who was behind everything because everyone seemed to be keeping secrets and some were just plain ol unhinged. I loved seeing that bit of seconds chances at love when it came to Ava and Dylan on the side, its not much for a romance book if that what you are looking that but if you are looking towards this book for a good short mystery element then you'll like this book.

Such a scary book from one of the best horror author of the world in my opinion. Dylan and Ava are stranded with a group of college friends in a ranch, but are they really friends? More a krimi than a love story, but I loved it anyway. I knew what was waiting for me when I picked it up.

I love Amanda Stevens books and have read everything that she has written. The story line in this book is one that I have read over and over. So, this is not my favorite book by this author

Full review to be published online in mid December.

I usually don't go out of my way to read category romances, but it's Amanda Stevens. I've always enjoyed her "Graveyard Queen" series, so I keep a lookout for something written by a favorite author. WHISPERING SPRINGS is, as always with this author, a cut above the average read. Assistant DA Ava has come home for a college reunion, and runs into old flame Dylan...and a whole lot of trouble. Between digging into the years old suicide of a college friend and mysterious things happening at the resort where the group is staying, Ava and Dylan have their hands full sorting things out. Well written, and creepy good fun.
