Really wanted to like this one but just after a few pages I just couldn't get into the story so unfortunately I'm DNF it , won't be picking it up to finish. With that said I would like to say thinks to NetGalley for giving me a chance at trying to read and review it in a change for my honest opinion.

This book was SO good that I could not put it down! Fast-paced thriller which so much going on and SO many plot twists. Faith, the main character, is a true survivor but she had a hard time fighting depression and anxiety for many years and dealt with it by drinking enough to make her an addict. She is such a strong person though which I really admired. Has a surprise ending that I did not see coming at all! Definitely worth your time! Great psychological thriller and a great mystery! Thanks for the ARC!! Loved it!!!!

The Girl Who Lived is a fascinating tale that blurs the line between sanity and insanity. 10 years ago a tragic killing spree destroyed lives and shocked a community. A master of misdirection, Christopher Greyson weaves a tale about loss and love that will keeping you reading to find out what really happened that fateful night.

The Girl Who Lived is my first read by author, Christopher Greyson. I was hooked at chapter one. The author was able to grab my attention from the beginning and keep it until the end. I could not put this book down and finished it in one day which is super-fast for me. The cover art for this book was amazing!

I totally loved the main character, Faith Winters. She is a young girl who comes with many flaws but because of that it makes her story real and believable. I was rooting for her throughout the book as she dealt with survivor’s guilt, anger, mental illness, thoughts of suicide, and alcoholism.

I love books with lots of twists and turns and this one did not disappoint. The author had me guessing clear up to the end. And WOW! What an ending! I thought I had it all figured out then NO…back to square one again. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves psychological thrillers and a good whodunit mystery. Five out of five stars for The Girl Who Lived!!!

Thank you Christopher Greyson, Greyson Media Associates, and NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book to read.

I'm a big fan of Christopher Greyson's Jack Stratton series so was excited to read his latest novel. I was not disappointed. Although, I miss some of the wise cracking Jack Stratton dialogue, this book kept me up reading late into the night. A well-paced psychological thriller that keeps you guessing right to the end. Highly Recommended

Thank you very much NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really thought this book was going to be a lot different than it turned out to be. I didn't care for the main character at all, and I thought it fell pretty flat on the scares. This one turned out to be a disappointment for me, but, based on reviews, it seems I'm in the minority on this one.

Faith gets released from another psychiatric hospital and struggles to adapt to life outside. Where everyone knows who she is because of her mothers book about the tragic incident that destroyed her life. The only one to survive a brutal attack that left her father, sister, best friend and her best friends mother dead, Faith has struggled with the fact that the police don't seem to take her account of that night serious. Although she has given them a description of one of the perpetrators they close the case believing it was her father who committed this heinous act. Faith wants the real murder caught but will he catch up to her first?

This story has twists and turns and you start believing you know who did it and then bam another twist with an ending I didn't see coming. This was a quick thriller that holds your attention and keeps you wondering who is pulling the strings. Quirky, secretive characters and lots of suspects make this a great book to dive into and get lost for a little while.

I had a blast reading this book, and once I started I couldn't put it down. What I really liked about this book, besides the well paced plot, was the examination of how the tragedy that Faith Winters endured as a young girl has shaped her life. I can't say that I really liked Faith. I initially felt a great amount of simpathy for her, but she is an addict and has her share of flaws that make it hard to like her. However, it was an interesting ride. I was impressed by the twists in the story and I didn't see the ending coming, which is always a plus for me. The only tiny criticism that I had is I was left with a few questions about some of the more minor characters after the resolution of the main story-line.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Though the title and the description of this book sound good, I was very disappointed in the writing. The protagonist is dealing with some serious trauma and understandably has a few bad habits. She has just been released from a psychiatric hospital where she has lived since she was thirteen. However, she was released with absolutely no life skills and no maturity. Slogging through her drunken benders and poor choices got so tedious I was dreading picking the story back up. I get that the character is dynamic, and she grows through the story, but the author focuses more on her issues than on the mystery of who and where the killer was. Alas, all the characters lacked depth and the story itself was convoluted.

Faith and her sister Kim head to their parent’s cabin to celebrate Faith’ s 13th birthday. It should have been a fun weekend. However, this day ends with four people murdered and Faith as the sole survivor. Fast forward to 10 years later, as Faith is released from a psychiatric hospital, nearing on the 10 year anniversary of the murders. Faith sees the man she believes committed the murders everywhere. Is her perspective to be trusted, as she binge drinks often and is an unreliable witness.

This book had me in parts. In the first few chapters, I was paging through quickly, hooked. Even though the main character is Faith, I found her unlikeable and not redeeming in any way. The main thing that bothered me about this book was just how unbelievable so much of it was. Greyson does give you twists aplenty, but they seemed rushed and somewhat unbelievable. Some twists I did predict and some caught me by surprise. I give an extra half star for some clever twists; I just felt like there were too many of them to actually be believable. I also took some issue with the whole “crazy woman, unreliable narrator” trope that’s been making the rounds in this genre.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book kept giving me panic attacks! Faith witnessed the death of her Dad, sister and friend. No one believes she saw the real killer. The police feel they solved the case. She is determined to prove them wrong. So many twists and turns. Terrific writing and very engaging characters. Did not see the ending coming. Very well done.

“The Girl Who Lived” by Christopher Greyson is a thrill ride for the reader that will keep you guessing until the very end. Faith witnessed a horror that no person let alone a child should ever have to endure, and when those closest to her turned their backs on her, she felt as if she had taken a dark trip into insanity. When she is finally released from the mental hospital where she had spent the last couple of years, she knew she could not rest until she found the true murderer of her family. The web of deceit and mind games that continue to surround Faith once again has Faith questioning all that she has known to be true, but before she has a chance to figure it out the real killer is out to make Faith the latest victim. This is a spellbinding novel that will hold your attention until the last words have been written. I was given an advanced copy of this book, and all of the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

"Faith glanced at the spot near the trail head where Kim had parked that night. For the millionth time, she wished she could turn back time=prayed that she could go back and do something, anything, and prevent Kim's death She could have thrown a tantrum when she saw Rat Face-insisted they turn around and go home. She could have suggested they call someone, convinced Kim to stay home in the first place."....

In this thriller novel we meet Faith Winters. She’s being released from the mental hospital on the tenth anniversary of the brutal murders of four people. One being Faith’s beloved sister, Kim, her father, and two family friends.

Faith is a wreck. A drunk, self destructive woman. Does Faith know deep down who committed the murders? Is someone worried she might remember? Her bad behavior keeps those she really needs from believing most of her story as events unfold.

Released and sent home, Faith decides to try to track her sisters killer. Returning to where it all happened makes Faith relive so much of the tragedy. With a distant, but helpful mother, there aren’t many Faith will be able to rely on. She has a hard time relying on herself. How far can she get? Will she end up dead, back in the mental hospital, or solve the murders, once and for all?

Enthralling from the very beginning. Faith is a character you can’t help but become invested in. Is she innocent? Is she a victim? Is she crazy? What would you be if someone murdered those you loved?

What if Faith really saw the murderer that night? He will not have forgotten that she is “The Girl That Lived.” Lots of action, and some surprises. Who can she trust? Everyone seems to have a secret.

Thank you Christopher Greyson, Netgalley, Greyson Media Associates

So, I will wholeheartedly admit that there were a few times I needed to put my Kindle in the freezer and step away from this one. And then I quickly rushed back to it! The visuals you get while reading this will give you chills, and it is a FANTASTIC introduction to the author. I was terrified and enthralled, and terrified, and maybe I slept with the lights on for a night after this. I would love to hear the audiobook version, I think you'd be never be able to stop listening!

Talk about being thoroughly confused and afraid you’re going crazy!!

We follow along as Faith attempts to get her life on track 10 yrs after witnessing a horrible incident and spending time in and out of institutions as a troubled/rebellious teen.

She is put to the test and doesn’t know who to trust. With things going haywire around her, it feels like her world is coming apart at the seams.

While reading this story, I was just as confused as Faith and couldn’t figure out who was trying to ruin her life. I was on the edge of my seat with worry about what was going to happen next.

It’s great to be truly scared for a character. Faith wasn’t exactly likable to me but she was fairly entertaining and that’s what mattered to me.

If you want a great psychological thriller, give this book a try.

I enjoy a good thriller. The Girl Who Lived is a good thriller. Faith has gone through a horrific event on her 13th birthday. Her father, sister Kim, her best friend and her best friend’s mom are all murdered while Faith is on the path to the cabin. After running and hiding from the killers, Faith becomes the sole survivor but has she really survived. She has been in and out of mental hospitals, is an alcoholic and often thinks about killing herself. Now 10 years later she is back in her hometown trying to start over. Her first night home, after drinking several shots, she thinks she sees one of the killers. This starts a crazy few days of trying to find the killers and not knowing who to trust. This book too me on a roller coaster of a ride, which didn’t reveal the true mastermind until the end. Do you think you know who is behind the murders? You might want to rethink your choice.

This book was really good! It moved along at a good pace and kept my interest the whole way through. At first, I was hesitant to like the main character, Faith, but I found myself rooting for her. The plot took a few different twists and turns and I was surprised at the end "bad person". This is a great selection for anyone who likes Paula Hawkins or Ruth Ware.

Well written psychological thriller. Is Faith crazy or has she really seen the killer from 10 years earlier. The twists and turns in this book keeps you guessing right up to the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
