This book is so cute! I really enjoyed the interplay between all of the Daniels clan, as well as between Gracie and Kevin. Aside from the romance, I love books like this for the other relationship dynamics, and the complicated families, and Amazing Gracie has that in spades. I loved it!

The abrupt ending that bothered me. It seems that the author decided to give an HEA to almost all the characters in the book, whether it made sense or not, but cut it short when it came to the main couple in the story.
Woods is one of my favorite authors normally but this wasn't one of her best sadly

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I tried several times to get into this one, but I just couldn't. I didn't like either of the main characters.

From the first page to the last Sherryl has written a book that engages the reader. Gracie and Kevin goes through many twists and turns in this story. The characters were well developed. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review a terrific story.

I read this book when it was first published in 1989. I loved it then and it's just as good as I remember. Gracie quits her job in hotel management and comes to small town Virginia. She sees an old Victorian house and wants to open a B&B. Kevin and his aunt own the old house, a final reminder of his mother's family and doesn't want to sell. As Gracie and Kevin get to know each other and Gracie falls under the spell of the small town and Kevin's family they reach a compromise. A sweet and lovely old fashioned romance. Perfect for young and old.

Gracie MacDougal returns to Seagull Point, Virginia trying to learn how to relax after being a workaholic. While relaxing she discovers a Victorian house that she dreams of turning into a bed and breakfast inn. There is one person standing in the way of making that dream a reality.
Kevin Daniels has no intention of selling Gracie the house but he is very interested in her. Gracie and Kevin are having fun dancing around each other. This back and forth teasing will lead them to discover things about themselves.

I enjoyed this book. Cute story line. The characters were mostly believable. I would recommend it.

Gracie decides to quit her job at a hotel in France over floral arrangements. The New CEO of the hotel wants to pinch pennies and decides to pinch the cost of floral arrangements and Gracie has an issue with that. She also has an issue with the frequent passes he makes at her but it seems to be more about the flowers.
So in a huff she goes off to Seagull Point, Virginia. While there she sees a property that she deems would make a lovely bed and breakfast. Of course the property is not on the market. It is owned by a man who does not want to sell. He is an attorney who would rather spend his time loafing around and making passes at Gracie. He is also described as a "scoundrel" and makes it a point to tell her he wants to sleep with her. There is anger, there is passion...you get the story. She is driven he is kinda lazy. They are drawn to be opposites who attract.
So that is pretty much the story. One can figure out the rest. This was my least favorite Sherryl Woods book. . I did not really care for any of her characters nor did I really care about what happened in their lives. Sadly, not her best. I was actually surprised at how much I did not care for this book as I have enjoyed all other books I have read by this author. I find her work to be engaging, entertaining and fun. This book just missed the mark with me.
I received a copy of this book from Harlequin and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sherryl Woods is one of my favorite authors. I can't recommend her highly enough!

Gracie MacDougal quits her job and returns to Seagull Point. A place she has fond memories of from when she was younger. She has her eye on a Victorian house she wants to convert into a B&B. The owner Kevin Daniels has no intention of selling.
Sparks fly between Gracie and Keven from their first meeting but neither is interested in a relationship. This is a fast, light, fun romance. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

As noted above, this is a re-issue. I read it a few years ago and here is what I had to say about it:
While perusing the bargain rack at my local used paperback store Amazing Gracie caught my eye. It is a sweet romance about Gracie, a hotel executive and workaholic who quits her job because she has a different vision for the luxury hotel than does her new boss. She goes to a small town in Virginia, a place she had vacationed with her family once, as a child. She realizes that she has no one who is important to her--no family, no close friends.
While there she falls in love with an old-fashioned Victorian house, which she decides to turn into a bed-and-breakfast. The only problem is that the property manager, Kevin, won't tell her who owns it (he does) but they start spending time together. Guess what happens?
The book has subplots about Kevin's cousins and Gracie's ex-boss but I can't say there was ever any real tension in the book or any doubt about the ending. I really liked Kevin's aunt, who used to own the house. All in all, I'd characterize the writing style as somewhere between fair and good and the book as a happy fluffy read. Grade: B-
I'm publishing a new post on this book because it is available on NetGalley. As I got into the book I realized I had already read it.
