This was a cute story with a little bit of time travel as Ailsa gets transported back in time to meet some people in the house that she currently works in as an events organiser.

I like nothing better than reading Christmas themed books in December and this book ticked the box for a light festive read.

Liked the characters and story. Interesting following the development of characters and in regards to a holiday especially Christmas. Would recommend.

A magical story perfect for the Christmas holiday. Filled with love, warmth, and the magic of soulmates who transcend time. The characters were endearing, the outcome of their lives saddening in some respects, but you feel you know them and their story. The author has done a remarkable job of creating such realism in the characters who left me with warm in my heart for their joys and heartbreaks.

Never before had wedding planner Ailsa McCormack organised a wedding for Christmas Day – but here she was, Christmas Eve in Carrick Park, the residence which had been built in the 1800s, making sure everything was up to scratch for the next day before she went to bed. It was late, but Ailsa thought to check the drawing room on her way up – she was astounded to see a handsome young man in there, who was obviously one of the wedding guests arrived early. She couldn’t work out why he was familiar, but they enjoyed a drink and she was on her way.

Falling asleep to the thoughts of the previous inhabitants of Carrick Park was not unusual for Ailsa, but this night they were particularly vivid. Her visions of Ella Carrick’s portrait which hung at the top of the stairs was poignant; the book written about the family – the tragedies and loves told much.

Would there be a little bit of Christmas Magic for Ailsa? After all, Christmas was a special time – anything could happen…

A Little Bit of Christmas Magic by Kirsty Ferry is 4th in the Rossetti Mystery series (though I haven’t read the first three) and it's a wonderful tale of love, hope, tragedy and happiness, mixed with a little mystery and of course, lots of magic. An absolutely delightful Christmas novella, just perfect for the season, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and highly recommend it as well.

With thanks to NetGalley and Choc Lit for my digital ARC to read and review.

3.5 stars

This was a fun, magical Christmas read! A novella timeslip romance with the added benefit of a festive holiday atmosphere made for good reading. The characters are part of Kirsty Ferry's Rosetti Mysteries which made it more entertaining for those who are familiar with them. It's centered around the mysterious disappearance of a couple in 1865, and a wedding planner in present day preparing the old house for a Christmas wedding. Read it, and find yourself lost between 2 worlds!

*Many thanks to NetGalley, Choc-Lit, and Kirsty Ferry for an ARC to read and honestly review*

This was a very interesting story(line). I don't really like time travel but it wasn't quite like that either. Maybe we all need the power of dreams. A nice love story in the mix.

No Dickens here. ‘‘Twas the night before Christmas and dream of being in Christmas past, add a bit of romance. Not my cup of mulled wine.

An absolutely magical Christmas themed book that draws you in and makes you feel you are living the tale. I could not put this down until I had finished and was left feeling quite emotional. A superbly written beautiful story.

Oh, what a wonderfully romantic and festive tale this novella was. I’m often a little nervous about reading novellas, as they sometimes seem rushed and lack the depth of a full-length novel, but A Little Bit of Christmas Magic was a joy to read.

I loved the story and the characters. I even had tears in my eyes at the end. Such an emotional story, but in a good way.

For me, this had a feel of Downton Abbey meets A Christmas Carol. But instead of the usual A Christmas Carol feelings of greed, selfishness, and the need to learn lessons, this was a magical tale bursting with love so strong it found its place no matter where or when it appeared.

I loved this quote:
‘You wish on an angel and the wishes are as fragile as their wings.’

This is a truly magical tale perfect for the festive season. Who doesn’t love a little magic at Christmas?

This one definitely comes highly recommended by me and gets all 5 sparkly stars (and if I could add a Christmas tree with an angel on top to go with those 5 stars, I would).

A Little Bit of Christmas Magic is the fourth book in the Rosseti Mysteries but my first read by Kirsty Ferry. This is an intriguing time travel story that takes place at Carrick Park Hotel, which once was a family estate owned by the Carrick family. Ailsa McCormack is the Wedding Events Coordinator at the hotel and her job is to make each couple's wedding day the most perfect occasion in their lives. But who would want to get married on Christmas Day? Because she has to be there early the next morning to get ready for the event, she plans to spend the night at the hotel. There are rooms available for staff in the old servants' quarters. Her parents are dead and the rest of her family is visiting other family members so she has no one to go home to anyway. Ailsa has always been fascinated by the history of the home, wishing that she could meet some of the former family members that stories revolve around. Christmas is always a festive and special time at the hotel. After her shift ended, she ventured into the drawing room where the wedding will take place. She wanted to have a few moments of peace before she turned in. What she didn't expect was to meet a handsome stranger sitting in the shadows reading a copy of the book written about the history of the house, some of which is sad. Ned Cavendish is the handsome stranger that joins Ailsa for a little while before they each turn in for the night. But yet, Ned is vaguely familiar. Where would she know him from? He must be a wedding guest. The events that follow are magical, beautiful and centered around a Christmas of another time that makes Ailsa's lonely Christmas a little more special. This is a sweet story of mystery and mysticism. Lovely, short read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this story in exchange for an honest review.

A touch of mystery, a thrill of love on several levels, the glimmer of a time slip, and that magic that shimmers in the air around Christmas time – combine them all, give it a good stir and you’ll discover an emotional, magical Christmas tale that will capture your attention. A Little Bit of Christmas gives me just enough of several of my favorite genres in one love story that gives a few goose bumps for good measure.

Ailsa is spending Christmas Eve at work, but even considering that she’s working this Christmas there really isn’t any other place she’d rather be than at Carrick Park – a place that has feed her imagination for some time now. Taking a moment to herself the night before a huge Christmas wedding, Ailsa will discover that not all strangers truly are that and that love is stronger than most of us believe. A familiar stranger will give her a few gifts that are completely unexpected and perhaps the greatest of them all is love.

Told with a touch of awe and magic, A Little Bit of Christmas Magic will transport you across time to solve a mystery and get caught up in a few love stories. If you’ve followed the Rossetti Mysteries than you’ll be reunited with a few characters you’ll recognize. I enjoyed my time in this world, and it definitely gave me some Christmas magic I can return to at any time. This story will appeal to many readers across several genres, but especially if you love Christmas Romance. I’d recommend it to any reader who enjoys a good, tingling love story, a bit of mystery, a step back in time and that magic that is Christmas. Enjoy.

This was a very enjoyable Christmas-themed time-travel short story.

Ailsa works in the Carrick Park Hotel and is spending Christmas there this year as she is the wedding organiser for a couple getting married on Christmas Day. She decides to stay in the hotel on Christmas Eve to be ready for the wedding and wanders into the drawing room in the evening to relax a bit before going to her room. She bumps into Ned Cavendish, who seems really familiar but she's not sure why. They have a conversation about the history of the hotel and especially about a lady called Ella Carrick, who has a picture on one of the walls that Ailsa has always been intrigued about. Ellla and her husband Adam disappeared and were never heard of again and Ailsa has always wanted to travel back in time to see what happened to them.

As it turns out Ned is someone who travels through time and he takes Ailsa back in time to Christmas at Carrick Park in the year 1865, where Ella and her friends are celebrating Christmas. Ailsa thinks she is dreaming at first, but then Ned explains she isn't, and she is there to experience Christmas with the Carricks, but can't tell them anything about what she knows and therefore change time.

This was a very Christmassy, romantic, magical, intriguing story. Just lovely!
