This story has so many elements present that have the potential to be a hit for me, a ginormous hit. But sometimes, it just doen't entirely work for me. This book was likeable, engaging and I overall enjoyed reading it but it just didn't really 'hit home' for me at the same time.

I do think that it's a book that you'd definitely need to pick up when the synopsis and story elements are to your liking, because it'll definitely be a hit for a lot of other readers out there, I'm sure of it! I'm planning on reading the next book in the series at some point, because it was good enough for me to want to continue.

Great book, love this author and how they can keep my attention to the end! The plot is well developed, characters are believable and they obviously paid attention to detail to make the story worth your time to read.

I did not read this book but would like to in the future. Unfortunately for me, it was archived before I could download it.

The initial thing that drew me to this book was the cover.
My rating for this is 2.5 / 5 Stars.

However, I tried reading it several times since I requested the ARC.
It took me a while to finish because it was relatively predictable and the writing wasn't fantastic.
I didn't find anything unique about this. I did like the magic system and fantasy components. They were interesting and I really did enjoy getting into this aspect.
The characters were a bit stereotypical. With the writing, at the begining I felt like the character was telling me all of the stereotypes of her father and herself. Instead of showing us the depth of the characters we were just told what was happening. It felt a bit monotonous

As I said, I did love the world and the very interesting fantasy / magical elements but the characters and plot felt unoriginal.

The cover drew me in immediately -- it's gorgeous! The synopsis caught my attention, but ultimately it was too tropey for me to fully enjoy it. Particularly in terms of the romance. I rolled my eyes far too many times and predicted how it would go.

A unique plot with a few (okay, a bunch) of typical YA tropes, a GORGEOUS cover, solid writing. This books was good. Not great, but good. I enjoyed reading it.

Mara Pryce is just a normal teenager, living with her widowed father and going to high school, just like it is expected from her. That is, until the day a mysterious stranger that only she sees appears in her life. She almost fools herself into thinking he was just a figment of her imagination but in a time of peril he reappears and saves her life.
The stranger is called Theodore and e proceeds to explain to her that she is an enchanter and him her protector. In the world of Wiccan magic, there are the Enchanted and the Iniquitous, forces of good and evil magic who are always at odds with each other. By discovering her true nature, Mara embarks on a journey to discover a part of the world that has always been hidden away from her.
I first approached this book with a sense that maybe it was not for me but I was proven wrong right from the first chapter. Written beautifully and fluently, this is a stunning immersing book that is a sure recipe for one to get lost amongst its pages.
Throughout the book, the reader gets to unfold a whole unseen world at the same time that the main character, Mara, starts to discover it herself. There is a magical world hidden from humans and the ones who inhabit within it try to hide it from the ones who do not belong to it. Unfortunately, the strife between light and dark forces has many of the younger Enchanted generations hidden away in safe houses in order not to get murdered, like those who are not as fortunate as being able to be protected.
This new world and its history help Mara to make some sense about her true parentage as well as to discover a new side of herself that she had never had the chance to know before. This journey brings her closer to a new family, not a traditional one, but one made up of friends who deeply love each other.
This book will build you up and its end will blow your mind. I am (not so) patiently waiting for the next instalment!

3.5/5 I enjoyed this a lot! I loved the magical feel of the book and I loved the witches aspect of this book, and the characters were written really well! I loved it very much! I liked this version of the chosen one trope. I know people normally don't like tropes like that but I love them and I think this one was a great! I think the war aspect as well really pushed this novel along and really helped me get invested in this book! Highly recommend if you're interested in reading books about witches and romance because this one fits that for sure and is so good!!

Hello everyone I hope you all have an amazing and wonderful day❤ What are you guys reading?📚 I’m currently trying to pick my next read😆

The reason why I wanted to read Enchant was because of the cover, it’s stunning & dreamy and I definitely thought I was going to like the book even before reading the synopsis. After reading the synopsis I found myself eager to read this book, I mean a gray-eyed guy that goes to her graduation and when she sees him disappears?! This was a book I definitely didn’t want to miss! Plus, it’s been a while since I read a Paranormal book😆

The story is about Mara who’s life changes drastically when she meets Theodore, a mysterious guy she saw at her graduation and vanished before her eyes. Things get even more complicated when he tells her what she is… She’s The Chosen One, an Enchanter. Now she and Theodore, her protector, travel to a safe house before the Iniquitous, who want her dead, reach them.

Enchant was a quick read for me. I think I read it fast because, as I mentioned before, it’s been a while since I read a YA Paranormal book. I loved the idea of the safe house being kind of like a boarding school where other Enchanters had to learn how to master their powers!

Sadly, I didn’t end up liking this book as I thought I would. I wasn’t able to connect with the characters and while I really wanted to like Theo I just couldn’t. He had a temper and it usually annoyed me that Mara still liked him. I know he was her protector and everything, but sometimes he kind of exaggerated his actions and got Mara in a problem, then again there were other times when he made me laugh, I was confused by his personality. Another thing was that the author used food to describe characters, specially their skin and I think it wasn’t really necessary.

While it was a quick read I don’t think I’m going to read the next book in the trilogy, maybe this book wasn’t for me, but if you guys give it a try I hope you like it!

It was interesting. Very YA. I struggled to finish this one. Pacing needs some work along with character development.

The interesting plot line is what caught my eye. And it's what kept my eye. I liked the characters as well! But for some reason, the book as a whole, just wasn't for me.

Amazing is all I can say!! I can’t wait for a sequel. The characters were so real to me. And I loved the story!!!

The writing style was just not for me, I didn’t enjoy it very much. The main character lacked depth and I couldn’t relate to her story in anyway that made it more enjoyable to me.

The cliffy at the end put me on edge.

just wasn'T m cup of tea. I liked the premise and storytelling of the book. The writing style is intriguing and keeps you on your toes, but eventually, I found the story a bit too predictable. When charcters are written so well, however, I really don't mind. I enjoy reading more about characters and setting instead of plot.

*thank you to Netgalley and Micalea Smeltzer LLC for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

3 stars.

Im not completely sure if I liked this. I'm so borderline. On one hand it was very YA, I loved the fantasy feel this book has but I wasn't connected to Mara as id have hoped to have been. I felt that ruined the story a bit. Still, I'm glad I read this but I don't think that I will re-read it. As for the rest of the series when it comes out, yeah, I'd be willing to give it a go.

This was a DNF for me. I struggled with the pacing, and the paranormal romance. Usually paranormal romances are a hit for me, but unfortunately this one wasn't.

Wow!

I don't really know what to say right now, other than that ending! Oh my gosh, that ending was everything. Can I have book two? Like yesterday? There are some endings you don't see coming and this was totally one of them.

I will admit this is pretty much a fast paced book, with a few slow moments. It has that drag in the beginning, where the world building is going on and you're just getting a feel of the characters. Who as you can see in the blurb is Mara and Theodore. A few others come along as well, but I don't want to spoil anything!

A little warning!

There will be a point where you may yell at your book/Kindle/Phone/reading device, these two can be infuriating. That by far is not a bad thing, it's not like they are actually going to listen to you. But it's still worth a try, right? Thought so.

But once you hit about 40% it takes off like a rocket and you don't want to put it down this is a unique take on a world with magic/witches. Or rather Enchanters, Chosen and Iniquitous. Which is hard to do in this day in age with so many variations at this point.  This book really kept my attention, it wasn't as predictable as so many are now. It is really worth the read or two, doll face.

My intended star rating: 3.5
- I have to start at the end, sorry to say, because the ending was enchanting. (Pun intended.) Wow, that cliffhanger.
- I was a bit disappointed with the story though. It wasn’t my favorite and it felt like it bit too much off of the plots of other popular stories.

This was a good cute YA read, I wasn't in love with it. I will reread it as I often do with books I'm on the fence about.
