Such a fun way to present Presidential history! I LOLed several times while reading.

An unconventional, creative book presenting each President of the United States as if he were an object of your amorous feelings, this book covers the interesting parts of each President's life with brevity, humour, and sass. Immensely enjoyable and readable, Volume One of Hottest Heads of State manages to squeeze a lot of history with a jocular tone. A very nice addition was the script of how Dolley Madison "saved" the Washington portrait, which added a lot of commonly unknown context to that "daring" rescue. The humour is not the normal cringe of some "fun" histories, but rather a mix of satire of the current situation, innuendo, and a pointing out of the great oddities in our history. The history itself was quite accurate and presented rumours as rumours, not as likely facts. There is, honestly, very little wrong with this book if you are interested in the Presidents.

This book is a fun read with a great deal of historical and political information packed in. It had me giggling throughout, particularly in the sections covering the more distant presidents. This would be enjoyable for those already interested in this topic, but would also be a great introduction for those who are not typically interested in presidential trivia. It does start to feel slightly biased when covering the more recent presidents, but not to a degree that should ruin the book for anyone. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a lighthearted, silly take on presidential history and look forward to future volumes in this series.
