Fantastic read. I could not put it down. This is my first book by Lorna James but it will not be my last. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

Pretty good. We don't really carry a lot of erotica at our library, which is why I said we probably wouldn't purchase it, but this one was fine. The ending was a bit rushed, but the characters developed well.

From Page 1 of this story, you are drawn into perspective of the quiet, quirky, other-worldly Sophia. Marginalized by her peers for claiming a meager skill at reading Tarot cards, Sophia is "nearing spinsterhood" and, though in love, despairs that she will ever have the happy match she wants. The story follows Sophia, armed with a seemingly-innocent book that has started her on a path of debauchery and, ultimately, a fulfilling relationship the likes of which she never knew was possible.

Though this story is about a kind of relationship that I don't personally ascribe to, I found myself liking the characters very much and being happy for their happiness. The romance of this book was off-the-charts in terms of quality and quantity.

What I was missing from this story was more depth to the mystery following the main trio, however. The culmination of the threat to their reputations and relationships was so quick and dry that I almost feel the book would have been better without it. The story line of the three main characters learning how to make their relationships work would have been good enough on its own.

This book is set in an old setting making it that much more scandalous to read. She goes from being shy and not underatanding much of anything to an adventerous being with a love for 2 men. I love the mystery thrown into the mix too.

This was a good romance. I thought it was a fun read and I liked that it was a historical romance. Too short though!

This is a fast-paced steamy historical read. Stone and Huxley are supposed to be enemies but the truth is the are best friends. Sophia’s father has gambled away their lively hood and he arrangers a marriage between her and Stone unfortunately she is in love with Huxley his supposed enemy. What will happen when she learns the truth and what they have planned for her. This read is fun with a great story line and steamy sex. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

This was a sweet and sexy quick mfm read. No mm interaction. Definitely light hearted and steamy, personally could have read this with a couple hundred more pages. I enjoyed both H's with their banter and she was just a sweet uncomplicated odd ball.

Wished it was longer so really feel for this story. I like the whole paranormal aspects and the M/F/M relationship. With two best friends Huxley Brigmore, Duke of Bedford and Cromwell Stone, Duke of Kendal are always feuding but over little things, their family’s were at ‘war’ reason will be much later and it a whopper of a secret. But thei love their friendship but they love to share women more.
Lady’s Sophia Hodges a very simple lady being raised by a Mother that taught her the gift of Tarot cards and other gifts of being a sensitive, and a father that loved his wife and after she passed his love of gambling and he treated Sophie like a nuisance. Until Sophie talked her dad into buying her a book with will changer her life and make her curious about something, it wasn’t what her dad thought it was. Sophie fell in love for Huxley when he saved her but something her mother said to him made him aloof with Sophie but he will always hold her heart even if Stone wants her for himself after discovering her book she has. Her heart wants one but her body wants the other, so she’s fighting her self. Her father wants the money. Stone wants the knowing lusty virgin and Huxley would love to have Sophie anyway he can.

Two Dukes Are Better Than One...Lorna James

I voluntarily received an arc of this book via NetGalley for a fair and honest review. Lady Sophia Hodges’ father was pretty sure he would never marry her off. By accident, Sophia managed to get herself an erotic manuscript and she was enthralled by the thought of two men with one woman. Under threat of her father finding out she had such a manuscript, Cromwell Stone, Duke Of Kendal learns about Sophia’s interest and decides that a virgin debutante would be perfect for him, and his friend Huxley. Stone and Huxley had always shared women, but Huxley wanted Stone to stay away from the Lady Sophia. Sophia had a crush on Huxley Brigmore, the Duke Of Bedford. Much to her chagrin, her father was busy arranging a marriage, to a Duke, for Sophia but it was the wrong Duke...Cromwell Stone. Everyone thought the two Dukes had been mortal enemies, little did they know, they were the best of friends. Hurley’s future had been foretold to him by Sophia’s mother. He was told he could not marry Sophia...that it would lead to his death. Unbeknownst to Huxley, his best friend would be marrying the sweet Sophia. When Stone informed Huxley that Sophia was to wed, he left out the name of her husband to be. But Stone convinced Huxley that is is they who should introduce Sophia to the carnal pleasures she had only read about, before she is to wed. I loved this book. It was funny, sexy and a nice change from modern erotica. This is a new author for me but I will be scooping up her books soon.

Lady Sophia Hodges’ obsession with tarot cards and the spirit world would have labeled her as odd, if not for the fact the Queen shares her interest. While searching for a connection with her dead mother, she narrowly avoids a scandal with Cromwell Stone. She blames that erotic manuscript she's been reading in secret for giving her such unnatural curiosities. When Sophia is powerless to stop her father from gambling away their livelihood, and even less able to stop him from arranging a marriage to Stone, she consults her tea leaves and sees a future life with passion and other confusing portents. The book is amazing. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Keep up the great work.

This is a fun book which revolves around some familiar but well-loved tropes, twisting them together into a sexy romp.

This was a very steamy read and the first book of its kind I have ever read. I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. It is not like a typical historical romance because there are two dukes in the relationship and also the occult element. Tarot cards and tea leaf readings are so fascinating.

The combination of the chemistry between the trio and the occult made this a very enjoyable read.

I wasn't sure once I started this book if I would like it since it involved tarot cards and such. It turned out to be a good book. The supernatural aspect of it wasn't overwhelming. Good storyline.

I loved this saucy historical romance. Two Dukes definitely are better than one.

3.5 stars
On the surface, Cromwell Stone, Duke of Kendal and Huxley Brigmore, Duke of Bedford loathe each other. However, only a trusted few knew that the passion they shared was deeper and more forbidden not only did they go through women like they changed their cravats, they did it together.
Lady Sophia Hodges’ obsession with tarot cards and the spirit world would have labelled her as odd, if not for the fact the Queen shares her interest. She ‘s found an erotic manuscript that she's been reading in secret & it’s given her such unnatural curiosities. Then finds herself engaged to Stone but she’s been in love with Huxley ever since he chased off a gang of ruffians who had been about to accost her. Now, she was going to marry his arch enemy, Stone, and be hated by default.
Only it seems both men are intent on pursuing her and fulfilling every naughty fantasy a well-bred virgin shouldn't even be having.
This is a sizzling read & very erotic, much of the novella revolves around Stone & Huxley seducing Sophia. There is a side plot that concerns them but although this had the potential to add tension & mystery to the story it fell short. The characters were to some extent likeable but I didn’t feel they connected with each other & I was left wondering if they loved each other or if it was just about the sex as there was very little romance. It was a quick erotic read.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. The relationship between Sophie, Stone and Huxley is rather unconventional for their time but it is very erotic. Sophie buys a manuscript that is an erotic writing describing sexual acts and she wishes to explore these different situations. Loved the book and would highly recommend it if you are a fan of erotic writings.

Look, sometimes you just want to read a fun trifle of a romance. And this book delivers. Completely low on angst and high on fun. Lady Sophia Hodges is a bit of a wallflower and loves reading. At the beginning she thinks, "Why didn't they throw library parties, where everyone wore comfortable clothes and read books?" lol. This is my kind of heroine. Anyways, she gets her hands on a book that seems really boring called The Convent Life Chronicles---but it's really Victorian-age Erotica where a dude disguises himself as a nun, breaks into the convent, and basically has sex with everyone. Reading this book gives Sophia ideas...OF COURSE.

Anyways, 2 dukes: Cromwell & Huxley seem to hate each other but really love to share women, so Cromwell offers for her hand in marriage but they all fool around together. There's also a pretty delightful sub-plot about tarot cards and fortune tellers and the Victorian belief about the occult. HONESTLY, look at that cover. What you see is exactly what you're going to get and if that's what you're in the mood for, pick it up and give it a read.

MY ONLY WARNING: This is honestly more like a novella than a novel. It is SHORT. $6.99 seems like it's way too much for how long this book is...
