Long Shot by Kelly Jamieson is a good fit for readers looking for a heartwarming story about healing, growth, and the power of found family, set in a contemporary romance context.

I knew I'd love Cade's story! After watching him jump from one night stand to one night stand, I knew that when he fell, it would be just as hard as when his buddies did. Watching him and Reese bump heads and then realize that animosity was actually attraction was all kinds of fun. And having the other women befriend her just made it so much sweeter. I will say, I wasn't sure how they were going to resolve their issues, but it was great ending to the book and the series.

After reading the other books in the series, I was curious about Cade's story and was looking forward to reading it. Although highly anticipated by me, it just didn't impress me that much. I loved Cade and I had no problem with Reese. My main problem was of them together. I just couldn't feel it. The connection although there, was not conniving enough for me to become invested in their story. I did enjoy the other elements the author brought to the page. I was especially intrigued about Reese's past and that was mainly what kept me reading the story. I just think my problem with this story was that I had such high expectations for it that I psyched myself out when it didn't go as I expected. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Serves me right.

I loved Reece & Cade’s story beyond words! I loved depth of the characters and their journey was in no way easy, but worth it in the end!

LONG SHOT by Kelly Jamieson. Ms. Jamieson did a fine job penning this tale. The story of Cade and Reese has the emotional pull I look for in a book. Both of these characters have had some rough patches in their lives and live with their own demons. Watching them help each other try to conquer these demons brings this book to life. I adored both Cade and Reese. The writing flows effortlessly and the storyline is believable and heartfelt. Oh, and there's a dog! Who can resist a story with a dog! Loved Jack! This series has been a delight to read and I look forward to more from this author in the future. (received NetGalley ARC for honest review)

This book was wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful chemistry between Reece and Cade during their journey together. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a bit of action and intrigue with your sexy romance!

There is something about the bar in this Last Shot series that has me giving it the name the little bar that could, three ex-Navy SEALS, brothers in every way, leave the service and decide to open a tequila bar called Conquistadors in San Diego and throughout this series we’ve watched these men figure out how to be business owners, watched them worry about making it, and watch two them find love when they least expect it. Long Shot is the third and final book in this series and in it we watch the most troubled friend, the man-slut extraordinaire flummoxed by the bar’s newest waitress. Smart and sexy, but not without emotion, Long Shot was an excellent story.

There was such tension between bar owner Cade Hardy and waitress Reese Kirkwell from the start and it was evident Cade was interested in Reece and while she tried to pretend it wasn’t so, she was interested in him. I’m going to admit that Cade’s sex partners showing up over and over at Conquistadors got a little old for me and while I don’t care how many people someone chooses to sleep with in addition to making sure they knew it was only one night of fun, he needed to make sure they knew his place of business wasn’t a place to discuss their encounter. As someone who was all business, it flummoxed me that he allowed it over and over and over. In the last book I knew there was something to the mysterious Reese, but I had no idea what her story would entail. At first I couldn’t understand the animosity is seemed Cade had for Reese, but then it became evident that she threatened him because of her knowledge of the restaurant and bar business and having everything under control was how he coped.

I enjoyed watching both Cade and Reese open up to one another even when they used Reese’s foster dog, Jack, as an excuse to hang out together. They both had baggage which is why I think they gravitated to one another because while they didn’t necessarily want to share their own story, they could sense the other needed a friend. Cade constantly surprised me with his caring side and watching Reese rediscover her passion for food and cooking was captivating. There was no denying the heat and attraction between them, but with two damaged souls admitting what they shared was more, left them open for heartbreak.

Long Shot was intriguing, sexy, and intense and I absolutely loved it!

This is the third book in the Last Shot series, and while it can certainly be read as a standalone book, the experience is really enhanced by reading all 3 books within this series.

Like with the other two books in this series, I couldn't put this book down and am sad to this day that there weren't more books in this series. The author does a great job in giving the reader an enjoyable read, while really sucking you in to the stories of the characters. These two are opposites in many ways - Cade is very personable and a flirt with everyone, while Reese is there to do a job. When Reese starts to come out of her shell and Cade gets a real sense of who Reese is, as a person and as a Chef, they really start to complement each other, despite their differences. While not my favorite in the series, the book was still really great and I highly recommend this and other series from the author.

I have always enjoyed books by this author but somehow this one just didn't mesh for me. Good story but not my thing. Give it a try for yourself perhaps you will enjoy more!

The Last Shot novels are my first foray into Kelly Jamiesons books and so far I must say, I have been missing out. From the very first book Body Shot I was CHARMED by these characters. I honestly loved Cade from the very start so I was super excited to read his book but I loved Beck and Hayden in Body Shot and I didn't love Marco and Carries story in Hot Shot (though it was still a solid 3 out of 5 I just found Carrie to be my least favorite character and somewhat bland) so I thought Long Shot was going to be very hit or miss.
Lucky for me I considered it a hit! Cade is smart and sexy and flirty and fun and I could go on but I used the word 'and' too much already. In short his character made this book all the better. The interactions between Cade and Reese are amazing. Sexy, funny, charismatic, interesting, and so much more. Everything down to Reeses doggo Jack was just amazingly writen and well developed. I loved that Cade sensed something broken in Reese and even though he himself is fighting back some demons of his, really he own does what he can to get her to step out of the darkness and find peace. Reeses character is just as amazing as Cades. Though she is broken, she is strong and does not give up. I admire that greatly and it just really shot this book to the next level for me. I love the boss-to-boyfriend thing, I love their relationship in general. I love that though Reese is a waitress (not a bad thing, I myself waitress) she has ideas and contributions for Conquistadors. They save eachother and it's beautiful.
I loved it! 10/10 would recommend.

This book was straight up food and cocktail porn. Reece was a chef in her hometown, but after she survives a tragedy (trigger warning: gun violence), she moves to San Diego and works as a waitress at a tequila bar and restaurant while she tries to heal and get a handle on her PTSD. Cade is her boss, and has A Thing for Reece, but he’s determined not ruin his business venture with his buddies by getting involved with her. Too bad this is a romance novel and “determination not to get involved” always results in “getting involved.” I really liked Reece and Cade, as well as all the secondary characters. The descriptions of the food are to die for, so do not read while hungry. There’s even an adorably ugly dog that surfs in this book. I don’t know if I’ll ever reread it, but I enjoyed the several hours I spent with this book.

I give this book 4 stars. The storyline between Cade and Reece was well written and a must read book. I recommend this amazing book. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Long Shot by Kelly Jamieson is the newest book addition to the Last Shot series and it is awesome and super sexy! I can't wait to read her next book!

Long Shot is the third in a trilogy, however it stands alone as well. One of the reasons i select Kelly Jamieson novels is her strong ability to interconnect characters and make the secondary characters as complex and layered as the primary couple. The Long Shot is a quick read, possibly a little predictable. The love scenes are plentiful and tasteful. The primary couple has issues from their respective pasts to address before they can have a successful relationship. So, as I said, it's a typical category romance, made a little bit different because of the supporting character's friendships, dialogue and interactions.

A nice story. The heroine Reece is a chef so a lot of wonderful food is mentioned and the it's all in a tequila bar, I wish I was there for a taste. It's the last in the series and all the characters are mentioned even though it is a standalone.
It's Cade's story, 3rd partner of the bar Conquistadors, he looks after a lot of their financial dealings and he's a bit of a manwhore. Reece is a waitress in the bar but secretly a chef, she's mentioned a couple times that the food isn't as good as could be, but her stubborn boss Cade has dismissed her comments.

This was an entertaining tale as snapping and acts of deceit commence between Cade and Reece. A romance can't be denied and it's pretty hot. And Jack the dog was a nice touch.

I enjoyed reading this book. Reece is working at a San Diego Tequila Bar, Conquistador. She is hiding some secrets and her past. Cade, one of the owners is also hiding his past. The romance was predictable but I liked the characters and the restaurant setting. There were a few surprises. The book was a quick easy read and was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Enjoy

Long Shot is a story of two people who know they shouldn't get involved, do their best to avoid it and end up falling in love any way. Cade is such a control freak that he almost looses the best chance he has at happiness. Reese is suffering from her own brand of PTSD and does her best to remain free and breezy with no roots in her new home town at her new waitress job, where she really excels in so many other things happening at the bar.. Leave it to Jack to leash them together under the guise of friendship, companionship and shared love of dog.

i really love this author. she's quickly becoming one of my reliable go tos. i really moved the build up of their relationship and how honest they were with each other. it was refreshing to have a heroine with panic attacks and have the hero help heal her instead of the other way around. i also loved Jack and the foster fail.

I'm never disappointed when I pick up a Kelly Jamieson novel. I know that I can count on strong, independent women, tough but sensitive men, and a smart storyline. This one definitely lived up to the standards that I've come to expect.

I've enjoyed this series so much, mostly because it encouraged me to explore my love of Tequila. Jamieson has a knack for educating while entertaining and I always walk away from her books smarter than when I started. This series is no different. With a Tequila bar and its owners at the center of all three books, Jamieson shares all sorts of delicious facts and stories about the origin of Tequila, its production, and how to do a proper tasting. Throw in a heroine that's a CHEF and a couple perfect for each other and we've got a trifecta of goodness in Long Shot.

Jamieson's writing is always sharp and clean, making her books quick paced. Rainy day? Perfect time to cuddle up and read about Cade and Reese, two people who have cut themselves off emotionally but have an instant attraction. These two type A personalities might not seem to make a lot of sense at first (opposites attract and all that), but remember, Jamieson writes smart, grown-up romances where we read about characters that could easily be our next door neighbor. Cade and Reese felt real and relatable. It was hard not to root for them!

4 stars for Long Shot. Heat level: 3.5

I absolutely loved the final book in the series. We finally got to see a bit of the quiet partner. This was just a sexy read that I'm glad I got to read.
