Reese was an excellent foil to the remaining single conquistador Cade. Both have secrets that keep them from getting close to others though they both have so much to give. Together they begin to bring down each other’s walls and undo the misperceptions they have of one another. Heart wrenching at times - particularly the day it falls apart in the kitchen for Reese and Cade is there for her. Loved this couple!

Long Shot is a fun, sexy romance that draws you in from the very beginning. I loved the relationship that Cade and Reese shared, from the fun banter of friends to the intimate relations of lovers. I have truly enjoyed this series and all of the characters. I highly recommend.

I absolutely fell in love with Cade and Reese and the rest of the gang. This story of one resilience, friendship, and love. Long Shot is written with smart wit, sexy scenes and unbelievable understanding of great food and amazing tequila. This is a must read that will keep you turning the pages to see if true love wins out in the end.

I really enjoyed this series, but to be honest, this was my least favorite book in this series. I never felt a real connection between Cade and Reese. He was the typical "bad boy" to stay away from and she was the women who was hiding something dark in her past (she did so by running away to the other side of the country and taking a waitress job that she was over qualified for).

I loved the other couples in this series and I enjoyed how the author made the books intertwine so that it was a continuation of the "gang". I just felt that Cade was going to go out with a bang. He was after all, the womanizer of the group.

Long Shot is a wonderful book. I enjoyed this book from the page one to the last page. It was hard to put down. I loved the chemistry between Cade and Reese. This is the first book I have read from this author, but it won't be my last. This is book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I didn't read book one or two but will read them soon. I would recommend this book.

So, maybe the problem is my own, but this one fell a bit short for me. I just couldn't connect with these characters, and I never felt engaged in the story at all. Part of the problem might be that I hadn't read the stories that came before this one. I agree with other reviewers that this can be read as a standalone, but I think I personally might have been more invested if I'd been immersed with this group from the beginning. Cade and Reese were likeable characters--I just wasn't feeling anything for them, and I found myself skimming large chunks of the book. Nonetheless, I did finish the story, so I was interested enough to see what Reese was hiding and how it all ended. With all that being said, I liked the author's writing style; the problem was all about the characters in this one for me. Thus, I would definitely read another book by this author, knowing that I might feel a much stronger connection with different personalities. I also wouldn't discourage someone else from reading this one. I am clearly in the minority here, and other readers may absolutely adore this story and these people.

Even though Reese and Cade both had commitment issues, I really liked this book. I liked that they got to know each other first.
So, Reese is a chef, a rising star chef, working as a waitress. We don’t learn why until after halfway through the book. I get why she just wanted to take a break from being a chef. Cade, he had a bad childhood, and doesn’t believe in love, even though it is all around him. He helped Reese through her problems, offering her perspective. I really liked how he pulled Reese out of her shell.
All this story happening around food and tequila made me a little hungry, going for some nachos now.

This is a wonderful series and I have loved every single book but this story I think is my new favorite. It easily stands alone but I highly recommend this series so I would definitely start at book 1.

This story is Cade's story. He is the manwhore in the tequila bar and to be honest his manwhoreness is one of my hesitations in reading this story, but in this stories case, he is more of a bored manwhore and hasn't manwhored in weeks.

Reese is his waitress at the bar and well she and Cade class a lot because she is also a foodie and the food sucks. I love how she goes behind Cade's back and tried to improve the menu and then the fireworks when Cade finds out were so great.

I really LOVED this book. It is well written, has a wonderful storyline and I loved every single character. The only thing I did not love is that the story ended with more of a happy for now rather than forever after. I would love another book so we could see how everything ends up. That said this book is HOT. It has a great plot and wonderful characters.

LOVED this book! This is a delightful series that follows the three former SEALs that own Conquistadors together. They are learning as they're going along and deal with various problems. One of them is a waitress, Reece, who wants to spend time in the kitchen instead of waiting tables, which she then compounds by criticizing the food to the customers. Cade is livid, but is also smitten with Reece, who has secrets of her own.

I loved the interplay between the characters and loved this novel. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone book, however, the series is so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. Put this one at the top of your TBR list!
