This is one book that I will read over and over again. It helped me to learn how to lay a foundation for a grace-filled, life-giving morning routine. I can go back to the foundation when I am in a full season of life, and then build it back up, using all the resources mentioned in the book. It is practical and great for anyone in any season of life.

In Hello Mornings, Kat Lee gives some fun, upbeat advice on how to start your day on the right foot. Kat has a way of writing that makes it feel like she's actually talking to you, with your individual needs in mind. I thought that the strategies she suggests made a lot of sense and I'm going to try and apply them to my daily life. HOpefully, they have an impact. I will definitely be reading more of Kat's work. She's a very talented author with an interesting perspective.

Kat Lee provides an approachable and practical guide for anyone who needs a morning routine (hint: it's everyone). Whether you're a night owl or morning person, she gives step by step ways to gradually build your morning routine around three basic concepts: God Time, Plan Time, and Move Time.

Kat starts the book with why mornings are important and why mornings should be important to you. The approach is relatable, in that everyone wakes up some time. We each have a day to work in some capacity (whether that's staying at home, working at a office, or taking care of family). Starting your day is what Kat defines as a morning, so even late shifters can do this!

Kat then defines the three basic concepts and how these can be grown over time (or reduced if time doesn't allow for it in this season). God Time - meditate on 1 verse; Plan Time - review the day's calendar; and Move Time - drink 8 oz of water.

Kat ends the book with habit creating ideas and how to prepare for a new habit. She then reminds the reader of the power of accountability and community, calling the reader to action on their unique morning routine.

Throughout the book, there are places to write out thoughts to questions being asked. There are also quotes from real people who have used Kat's process to grow and develop their own routines, so the reader can see how this process works (no matter the season of life).

This is a practical guide to mornings for those that need reminding of how to retackle their days with a purpose.

The way you start your morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. This book shows many practical ways to start your day off well. Great ideas plus practical application equals better days overall.

My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it did not present the gospel very well. Although the book was written for Christians, I’m sure many non-Christians will pick it up, too. I was troubled by the quote, “God does not require our perfection; He wants a relationship with us.” While that’s true to an extent, He does ultimately require perfection. The author never says how to attain that perfection – through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. So while readers may be able to get their morning routines together, they may be left wanting on Judgement Day.

Kat Lee is so encouraging! I loved the concept of this book and the practical advice she gave. I know that our lives go in stages, and so not everything will work always or all at once. But it is so encouraging to find helpful ways to structure my mornings so that I can get the most out of every day. I'd also recommend her podcast, which I've enjoyed listening to since reading the book. She really does seem to be a very kind and encouraging person. I recommend this book!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I have always been a morning person, but not a very organized person. Kat Lee does a wonderful job at suggesting how to get on a morning routine with Jesus. This book is honestly really good and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to find just a few moments to spend with Jesus and not feel guilty.

The writing felt very generic and one-tone to me. I wasn’t -super- into this subject at the moment, so it felt very boring to me. But I am planning on trying it again in the future!

I am a big Kat Lee fan and love listening to her podcasts so I was really excited to get a chance to read this book. I knew it would be very helpful and I wasn't disappointed!

I really appreciate that this book is filled with resources, ideas and examples to help you kick-start your morning routine, without making it complicated. A good start to your day doesn't have to be long and complicated but we often get caught up believing that it does. Kat's method to starting your day off on the right foot busts that myth because it is so basic, it's hard not to be successful in implementing it in your own life! Through 3 basic steps, you too can get your day off to a great start...Kat suggests focusing on "God Time, Plan Time, and Move Time" and expands on these concepts throughout the book. She even suggests that this basic routine can be completed in about 3 minutes, which works even on your busiest morning! I also appreciate how this simple routine can be incorporated into all seasons of life...even crazy busy/tired mamas of little ones!

I really like that it's practical without being "preachy". Kat shares plenty of stories from her own experiences as well as wisdom and experience from others who have implemented the 3 minute morning routine themselves.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants their days to get off to a good start, but have struggled with consistency in routine and habit.

You can manage your mornings well
Kat Lee is the hostess of the "Hello Morning" Podcasts, the creator of the "Hello Morning.org", offers Bible studies, and is also a writer and speaker. Her goal with her book "Hello Mornings: How to Build a Grace-Filled Life-Giving Morning Routine" is to show the readers the importance of mornings for starting the day right. In reality the book is not only about mornings, but about living exceptionally and intentionally. Kat is very open and honest. She does not hide the fact that she is not naturally organized and has to work on her own routine. In spite of the fact that she encourages the readers to fit their lives and personalities, she also underlines that it is about progress not perfection.
The three important components for Kat in the morning routine are 1) God Time - time with the Lord, 2) Plan Time - time to plan the day or revise previous plans, and 3) Move Time - an investment into ones fitness. She encourages the reader to start with a three-minute routine of those items. In the last part of the book Kat presents the Morning Routine Toolkit and teaches how to built habits. It is important to her that the morning routine needs to start the night before with the necessary preparations of the family and the tools (Bible, Bible study, workout equipment, clothes, candles, drinks, snacks, ...).
I really recommend Kat Lee's book because it is open and honest and does not have an "one size fits all"-approach which I really appreciate. Her "keep it simple and build up from there"-approach is also attractive because the barrier to try to invest in a morning routine is lower than in other approaches.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the author and the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Hello Mornings is fabulous! She proposes having a 3-minute morning routine. Most mornings would have routines longer than 3 minutes, but when life gets hectic you can fall back on the 3-minute one. This way, prayer, planning, and health don't get neglected, and you don't get discouraged by completely abandoning a plan. It's then easier to expand the plan when life calms down, too.

The proposed morning routine includes 3 parts: time with God, time to plan the day, and time to take care of your health. The author is a Christian and mentions specific Bible verses, but her description of the God-time/prayer component could be appreciated by anyone who believes in a personal God (not just Christians). I think it would be annoying or frustrating for readers who do not believe in a personal God. While any form of meditation could be substituted for prayer in the routine itself, the author mentions the importance of cultivating a relationship with God throughout the whole book.

The end of the book has a lot of great research and tips on forming and keeping habits. This book has been one of my top recommendations all year!

This was such a grace-filled, wonderful book about starting your own morning routine. Her three minute morning is something even I can do and build on. I liked that while the author is a mom, she's not your typical "mommy blogger". This is geared more toward women, but men could apply the same principles to their mornings. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I was drawn to this book being based on the concept of a morning routine. Unfortunately I didn’t realise that this book was heavily based on the bible, hence it was not relevant to what I was hoping to find. For readers who wish to create a morning cemterdnaround bible readings this book would be ideal.

I always thought I was a morning person until I really had to start getting up early. Then you add kids to the mix and it seems I dread mornings now. I wake up and then waste time and have to scramble around trying to finish getting ready. Sometimes the important things like spending time in the Word, praying over my day, and taking healthy steps to be able to do what God has called me to get left behind in all the rush. Part of me feels like if I can't spend an hour in quiet time and thirty minutes working out then what's the point. So I don't do anything.

Hello Mornings by Kat Lee gives another option. She gives the reason for God Time, Plan Time, and Move Time using Scripture. And she recommends starting small with just 3 minutes each morning and then expanding from there. Two things I really liked about this book were how practical (and attainable) it is and how she continually brings the focus back to our service to God as the reason why we do anything. Many books like this often focus solely on the practical and end up being a glorified self-help book. Having a proper motivation for what we do and remembering who allows us to do it makes me want to stick with it more.

The book is not perfect but there is a lot of wisdom in it. Now I just have to get up and do it. Another thing emphasized in the book is the importance of accountability. Anyone want to join me on this journey to taking back the morning?

The Hello Mornings community is amazing! And now there's a whole book to encourage and guide you as you work to form new, life-giving habits. This book is divided into 3 parts: the first part discusses the WHY behind getting a good start to your morning, the second part gives you a blueprint of three simple things to include in your morning routine, and the third part is a toolkit full of tools to help you with your habit and journey. Kat is sweet and humble and you will finish this book ready to start your day by saying "hello mornings!"

Wow this book is so much more than a how to book to order your mornings. Kat Lee writes with remarkable passion over a simple three minutes of the day and the incredible impact it makes. Her tone throughout the book is excitement and hope for her readers’ future in this small change. There is a lot of inner introspective work that she asks us to do that we may prepare and give ourselves the best chance for the long haul of committing to beginning the day right with God.

Hello Mornings is chalk full of insights and encouraging words that inspire me to live out an ordinary mundane life-extraordinarily. She makes me feel hopeful that God does have a special plan and that it begins in the little everyday things I choose to do. Hello Mornings welcomes readers to take note of how we spend our time and how to redeem it and offers grace for failure. I think Kat Lee does a great job in capturing God’s heart for people and how He has an amazing beautiful plan for everyone. And that starts with just welcoming God unto our Mornings.

Fabulous book. It has been the encouragement that I needed to prioritize and welcome God into each morning. The simplicity of a 3-minute routine definite helps make this something easy to do every morning. God-Plan-Move. Easy to remember and easy to incorporate. I have gained control of my mornings again and it definitely helps me ease into each day before the chaos begins of life with 3 kids. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with their mornings.

I did not finish this book due to the overly religious tones in it. I wasn't aware that it was a christian book, and that is my fault for not looking closer at the genres of it.

I sincerely apologize for this and wish the author much success!

This book really spoke to me and made me more excited to face each day. I had been in a place where I struggled to get up each morning and often felt fatigued and weary from the moment I opened my eyes. I expected a basic list of ideas to get through the day but this book was so much more. It really gave me the power to see past my current situation and get excited again about the first three minutes of my day.
