Great well written characters and a fast placed and an entertaining plot made this one hard to put down. I found this to be a quick sweet Christmas romance read. Overall a great get you into the holiday mood read.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I liked this book. It was a sweet light hearted Christmas romance. This was a short novella so the romance seemed a little too fast, but I enjoyed the writing and the characters. Lorelei was a strong, hard working character who went after what she wanted. I liked Henry and seeing him realize what he needed to do to get what he wanted. I enjoyed Dana’s writing and will hopefully read a full length novel of hers to see how she shows the progression of the romance in a full length book.

A little bit naughty for Christmas. Good plot and romance

It was short and fun.orelei is an attorney working for Henry, and hoping to be made partner. Henry is enjoying having full control of his branch of the family law firm and isn't ready to accept a partner.I really enjoyed the idea that is two workaholics finding love.Even though I enjoyed most of the story the end felt a little bit rushed and this make me to not give it more than 3 stars

What I liked about this book: I really enjoyed the idea that is two workaholics finding love and joy again. Usually in these setting, there is one workaholic and one more laid back that shows the other the true meaning of love and everything. It was refreshing to read two people that were both caught up in work and their careers and also that it wasn't perceived as a fault in any of them.

What could have been better: I feel that some of the developments were rushed, especially towards the end/resolution. It's always a risk in a novella, as it's shorter, but it felt like some things happened too quickly, especially the resolution of the conflict. It was hard to believe Lorelei would have forgiven him so easily, considering how important making partner was for her. In addition, the realization of being *in love* came to rushed for me.

But I loved the style of the author and I'd be interested in checking a full-length novel from her

If you want a wonderfully hot read with real emotions and HEA, then don’t look no further. I promise you won’t regret this wonderful early Christmas present for can get for yourself. Dana Volney has done such amazing job with this book and I will be looking out for more of her books in the future on netgalley and amazon. Totally recommend this book wonderful Christmas book.

What a wonderful short read to get me into the holiday spirit. Henry Hale is partner of his family Law firm and his star employee, Lorelei Sullivan is from lawyer pedigree herself and wants to make partner. The story follows the two weeks leading up to Christmas with wonderful misunderstandings, game night, and scary masks. I also enjoyed the fact that with such a short story, she didn't attempt to add any sex scenes it. It read like a natural relationship sliding from employer/employee to love.

I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is a short and sweet Christmas novella about lawyers. I bet you thought that was an oxymoron. The sizzle level is warm ... kissing only. Henry Hale runs a branch of his family’s law firm and seems to have a chip on his shoulder about making any one in his division a partner. Lorelei Sullivan is his top lawyer and is determined to become a partner. This part I found confusing because Henry seems quite clear that there is no partnership up for offer and why some one as intelligent as Lorelei is going all out to make partner doesn’t make sense. In any case Dana Volney manages to avoid the ick factor in a romance between boss and employee and this a nice little story with a satisfactory HEA.

This is my first book by Dana Volney.

A cute Christmas quickie. For those that like boss/employee relationships you'll like this read. A perfect book to help get into the holiday spirit. Henry and Lorelei have wonderful chemistry. I love how the mothers each give a little nudge. Very well written. For a first read of Dana Volney I will be going back for more.

A short Christmas novella about two lawyers in a small firm.

Lorelei is determined to become a partner in the firm. Henry is not so sure he's ready to take one on, but is finding himself attracted to her as they spend time with his family during the holidays.

I liked the small touches in this one that give you a little insight into the characters via their hobbies, how they decorate their house, and interact with their families.

As it is a novella I knew that it would be pretty short, but I do wish there had been a few more chapters to let us really see Lorelei and Henry together more.
