While I am a huge fan of Christmas & Santa, this book just wasn't for me. I'm sure other people may like it, but I just couldn't get into it.

I made it one third of the way through this book and that was as far as I could go. The idea in the blurb seemed like a good one, but the book did not deliver for me. It was full of mean, silly, destructive characters who just kept getting worse and worse. The jokes were bad and I am not sure if even a young boy, who this book seems to target, would find them amusing. Perhaps a shorter story, maybe with some illustrations might have worked better. Sorry, but I can not recommend this one.

I thought this was ok. It felt dumbed down for middle school, yet not quite right for elementary level. I'm not reviewing it on my blog.

This is a really sweet idea, and I’m sure some kids would enjoy it. I really wanted to love it because I enjoy Christmas stories! However, I found the writing to be unrealistic and cliche. The storyline was rather predictable, and it often felt like I was reading a middle schooler’s writing. Not to mention, the jokes all felt very low level. Middle schoolers can tell when an author appears to be talking down to them.

I tried really hard to get into this, I did. But...it's just not working for me. Santa is kind of like a stern boss I've had, the four elves are just not enjoyable to read, and there's no real basis for their names (Jack-nass? Come on, you're waiting for a middle school boy to grasp onto that and make all kinds of jokes). There are only four reindeer, and they're just mean. I understand that they're not pumped about the whole situation, but still. No one wants rude reindeer. Nor do they want three pages of butt-based talk.
