With an American president distracted by growing tensions in North Korea and Iran, an ominous new threat is emerging in Moscow. A czar is rising in the Kremlin, a Russian president feverishly consolidating power, silencing his opposition, and plotting a brazen and lightning-fast military strike that could rupture the NATO alliance and bring Washington and Moscow to the brink of nuclear war. But in his blind spot is former U.S. Secret Service agent Marcus Ryker, trained to protect but ready to kill to save his country. I was excited that Rosenberg has moved his writing series to Russia, a place that I have visited. It is amazing to me how much more a book means when you can visualize some of the locations that are mentioned in the book such as the Kremlin and Red Square.

And I was amazed at how fast I was drawn into the book. His books are always exciting, relevant to the current times and almost predicting things that will be current events. I found I was holding my breath in a few of the scenes. Both Oleg and Marcus, despite being very different character types, are likable characters that you can emphasize with. I have reservations about Morris. I need to read more about her. Which from the ending, there is an indication that is very likely to happen when the next book is released.

This review represents my personal thoughts on the book which I received a free copy of.

Woah. Rosenberg has wowed me again with another hit. I don't know how he does it but his predictions on political matters are scary yet thrilling as they are eerily similar to our current events.

The Kremlin Conspiracy is a well researched, well written novel that dives into some of the concerns and threats that exist in the modern world today and creates a plausible picture of the potential future. I love how the author takes actual recent past actions (invasions in Georgia, Ukraine, etc), actual characteristics, policies, and election details of current political world leaders and then gives the reader ideas of what could happen in the future if current themes and issues are not addressed. The plot was well developed with sudden and unexpected twists of suspense, murder, danger, and tragedy. I liked how the author wove in Marcus' backstory and how his past actions, skills, and friendships led him to the end results of this novel. I also appreciated the rawness of his guilt and depression in the wake of tragedy and how realistic it was. Overall, I thought this was a well written and engaging political thriller, and I look forward to where the story may go from here.

I received this novel from Tyndale House through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A well developed and explosive thriller. Marcus Stryker, a former secret service agent and Oleg Kashkin, the Russian presidents son in law are on seemingly opposite sides during a threat of a possible nuclear war between the US and Russia. This books takes the time to fully develop the main characters and is a very enjoyable read. It has a ripped from the headlines feel. Read this book if you love thrillers and be ready for a fast paced read during the second half of the book after s solid foundation is laid during the first half.
Thank you Netgalley and Tyndale House Publishing for the ARC for my review.

Joel Rosenberg has put together another thrilling espionage thriller. The new President of Russia has the singular goal of making Russia great again. The new US President is a bit of whimp that has a similar goal for the United States of America. Together they are pushing the world toward a thermonuclear meltdown.

It will take Markus Ryker, former US Marine and Secret Service agent, and Oleg Kraskin, senior aide and son-in-law to the Russian President, working together to find a way to pull these two superpowers away from the brink of cultural annihilation.

I could not put the book down. I had to - but did not want to. I stayed up nights to get more reading done. If I woke up at night,m I would pick up the book to get another chapter under my belt. The author has done a wonderful job of blending life, faith, and a political thriller that tracks with current events.

My hope is that Markus, Oleg, and Jenny (an unwitting CIA operator), are brought together again for more adventures.

The Kremlin Conspiracy was my first book by Joel C. Rosenberg. It flashes from the 1990s to present day Russia and the United States and has the overtone of Cold War hostilities. Rosenberg parallels the lives of Marcus Ryker, a U..S. Marine and Former Secret Service agent, and Oleg Kraskin, a Russian attorney, whose paths ultimately cross in this political thriller. Fans of Tom Clancy will enjoy the complex plot and nail biting suspense. The ending leaves open the possibility of future books starring Ryker, and I wlll be eagerly waiting the next chapter if Rosenberg does turn this book into a series.

The Kremlin Conspiracy by Joel C. Rosenberg is a top notch political thriller that kept this reader engaged from beginning to end. The basic plot has an American military hero, who becomes a former secret service agent working for a politician. In Russia there is a counterpart, the son in law of the Premiere. With the undergirding of a huge conspiracy that will affect many nations including the U.S. a partnership begins that leads to a conclusion to save not just one life but many.

This is the first book in a new series by Rosenberg. If you have read others, or not, this is a good one to begin with. Be warned you will want to read the next one (yet to be published after this writing) immediately! I left an honest review of this book, after being granted a review copy by the publisher through NetGalley.

Could Rosenberg’s current event fiction be anymore prophetic?

Several apartment bombings in Russia throughout the late 1990s were attributed to Chechnyan rebels. Russian’s defense minister has sworn to protect the people of Russia and the tide seems to turn in his favor both in reduction of attacks and popular favor. He soon gets elected the country’s new president and begins a reign that he believes will rebuild Russia from the devastation of the cold war to become the leading super power of the world. With unlikely allies in Iran and North Korea, the president begins a masked message of peace while supplying the countries with means to produce nuclear weapons. With ambition and power on the rise, does anybody have the guts to stop him?

Marcus Ryker has always dreamed of being a police officer and marrying his high school sweetheart Elena Garcia. An unfortunate family incident changes his outlook on life in several ways and Marcus joins up with the marines shortly after the events of 9/11. After his stint in the marines, he begins the process of joining the secret service and eventually joins the president’s personal detail. As Russia’s president begins to set events in motion, Marcus realizes that stakes have never been higher and the US and Russia will come to the brink of war if he doesn’t do something. Everything he learned to protect his president will have to be used to take out theirs!

As usual, Rosenberg masterfully draws the reader in with the first paragraph and never lets up until the end, which only leaves you wanting more! The story line carefully reflects that of the rise of Putin from head of FSB to defense minister to being elected president of Russia. Reading the book really jogged my memory back to when the apartment bombings were occurring in Russia and how Putin vowed to take out the terrorists, which eventually got him elected. If you haven’t researched Putin, I highly recommended that you do so that you can do a compare/contrast to the story that Rosenberg has weaved together.

It’s often been said that Rosenberg writings are prophetic with current events. This one proved to be no exception for as I was reading this book, North Korea has announced they will cease nuclear weapons testing! Could it be any mere coincidence? Or are they doing exactly with Rosenberg laid out in this book for present day? Only the reader can decide!

I always recommend his books for readers who love current events and a fantastic story! Pick up a copy of this book as soon as you can!

I received complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

Honestly, this was a hard read for me. Early on in the book the author would jump between characters and timeframes that I found confusing. I struggled keeping track of who was who and their significance. Likewise, the story at times seemed to drag on. Please note I reviewed an unedited advanced reader copy, some of the “slow” parts may have been cleaned up for final publication.

For me, a big problem was I didn’t start caring about the main character until near the end of the story. If I had related to him more earilier maybe I would have enjoyed the story, not sure.

For people who like Jason Bourne type stories you would probably enjoy this book. Lots of action especially in the final section, although in my mind somewhat unrealistic. (Hence the Jason Bourne reference)

Based on the ending, I’m guessing this is a book one, otherwise the author is cruel.

Although, I wasn’t crazy about this book, I might read book two but I would definitely read another book by this author.

Dislaimer: I did receive this book from the publisher but was not required to give a review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Joel Rosenberg is one of the most authentic authors in the political thriller genre. As a citizen of Israel, he is privy to the political climate in the middle east. In his newest book, The Kremlin Conspiracy, Mr. Rosenberg shifts his focus from the Middle East to Russia. Although the first half of the book is slow backstory, the second half is pure action. The Kremlin Conspiracy is set in modern-day Russia with a president who sees himself as Czar. I was fascinated by the political intrigue and infighting. It was as though I had a seat in the Kremlin. So hang onto your hat and grab a cup of chai, You will be in for one heck of a read!

I was given this book by NetGalley.com for review purposes. I was not required to post any review and all thoughts are my own.

Two men want the best for their countries, if not the world. Marcus and Oleg. American and Russian. Two men with staunch moral fiber learn just how governments work to sustain peace or possibly destroy it.

Even though he’s still a senior in college, Marcus tries to join the Marines after 9/11, only to have the recruiter tell him to wait until after graduation. He soon starts a career in the service of his country that tests the bonds of his family and his own trust in God.

Oleg falls in love with the daughter of the Russian prime minister and asks for her hand in marriage. During the engagement, he is hired to his future father-in-law’s staff as he ascends to the position of President. Oleg soon understands the true nature of President Luganov and he becomes complicit to his manipulations. He falls deeper into the ‘modern czar’s’ coercion and subterfuge.

Joel C. Rosenberg’s The Kremlin Conspiracy is of taunt contemporary thriller that shows off the author’s talents of masterly exploring the macro and micro acts of war. From 9/11 to the present, he uses the characters of Marcus and Oleg to track the global power struggle and show the human side of these aggressions.

A practiced author of historical and contemporary thrillers, his writing does not contain any throwaway characters. Every character has a purpose and he develops them accordingly. The only negative in his writing is that at times he ends his chapters by dropping very leading lines that play into his next plot twist. This foreshadowing is unnecessary, especially with his sophisticated and polished writing.

The Kremlin Conspiracy is a tremendous read. Rosenberg’s characters look to the power of patriotism, loyalty and prayer in fighting an evil megalomaniac. The author seems to see history and our collective future through a very positive lense. There is tragedy in Rosenberg’s writing, but at the same time great possibility of national and world balance.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tyndale House Publishers, and Joel C. Rosenberg for the advanced copy for review.

I am reviewing a copy of The Kremlin Conspiracy through Tyndale House Publishers and Netgalley:

In this action packed book by Joel Rosenberg an American President is distracted by growing tensions in North Korea and Iran, a new threat has popped up in Moscow where a czar is rising in the Kremlin, a Russian President is consolidating power as quickly as he can, silencing his opposition, while plotting a brazen lighting fast military strike that could break apart the NATO alliance and be the start of a deadly Nuclear War.

Marcus Ryker is a former U.S secret service agent who is not afraid to kill or be killed to save his country and all it stands for.

The Kremlin Conspiracy is a novel that will hold your attention from the first page to the last.

I give The Kremlin Conspiracy five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Joel Rosenberg books often feel like they’re coming right out of the nightly news. They’re so relevant and realistic and I always hope they won’t come to pass. 
This book goes back and forth between Oleg in Russia and Marcus in America for about half the book. When books go back and forth between two separate plot lines, one often is more interesting than the other and I found that true here. That and the fact that this book covers a span of over 20 years made this feel a little disjointed and slower paced to me. The two worlds finally converged and things started picking up.
One thing I appreciated about this book is that it shows how hard life can be on families of people in the political realm. Even though Marcus is a hero serving his country, he struggles with finding balance between his work and personal lives.
Oleg is the president of Russia’s right-hand man. He is faced with horrific decisions as he determines who and what he owes his allegiance to.
Despite the minor issues above, I enjoyed this book. It just wasn’t my favorite Rosenberg book. Thank you to Tyndale House for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.

The Kremlin Conspiracy is an exciting read! I was not sure what to expect at first. I am not a huge fan of political thrillers, but this kept me on the edge of my seat. I just could not put it down. The suspense kept me interested and wondering on what would happen next. The ending was one I would not have predicted. Loved it!

I highly recommend The Kremlin Conspiracy and would give it 100 stars if I could. Well done, Mr Rosenberg!

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Joel Rosenberg’s books are always well-researched, well-written, and make you feel as if he has the ability to have next week’s newspaper in his hands today. He has changed his setting in this book from the Middle East to Russia. This change of scene in no way lessens the tension that characterizes his books. The opening sentence is an example of what to expect all throughout this book:
“Louisa Sherbatov has just turned six, but she would never turn seven.”

The first part of the book follows the separate lives and careers of Marcus Ryker in the United States and Oleg Kraskin in Russia and continues until their lives intersect in a world-changing encounter. I am already looking forward to the next book to continue this exciting story of espionage and suspense.

I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher. I was not required to give a positive review. This is my honest opinion about this book.

Wow! I loved this action-packed, fast moving story. It felt real to me since so much is in the news today about Russia, North Korea and nukes. Highly recommended!

I'm normally a big fan of Joel Rosenberg's books. I've read all of his novels and one of his non-fiction books, and I've always enjoyed them. Unfortunately, The Kremlin Conspiracy was a bit of a disappointment to me. It's the start of a new series for Rosenberg featuring ex-Secret Service agent Marcus Ryker as the protagonist. Rosenberg can still write a page-turner, and I read the book quickly. I had a few issues, though. First, unlike in previous Rosenberg thrillers, the main politicians in this book (the leaders of Russia and America) are so obviously carbon copies of Putin and Trump as to make me wonder why Rosenberg bothered changing their names. Second, there's too much action. A political thriller can be thrilling and well paced without having this many gun battles. I'm not at all opposed to action in a book, I just think it can be overdone and was here. Third, Ryker wasn't developed as well as some of Rosenberg's previous protagonists. Some of his struggles are a bit cliché, some of his skills a bit superhuman, and he doesn't seem to wrestle at all with the morality of his actions.

I like Rosenberg's writing well enough that I'll give the next entry in this series a fair shot, but in my opinion, this book isn't up to par compared to other Rosenberg novels. I received a digital copy of this book for free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I express in this review are entirely my own.

In the book The Kremlin Conspiracy, author Joel Rosenberg follows Marcus Ryker and his rise in the military and secret service. But there is also a leader rising in Russia who wants to be the unifier of the former Soviet states and desires to be the next czar of Russia. These two lives are on a collision course!
This was an excellent story and plot with many twists and turns. I would highly recommend this book! The book did end a little to abruptly and I hope there will be another book. I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rosenberg knows how to create a political thriller that could very well parallel today's headlines. A Russian leader who wants to be a czar over a restored glory of Russia is pitted against an unpredictable U. S. president. With the existence of NATO on the line, an ex-secret service agent tries to prevent a possible global disaster.

I really like how Rosenberg has crafted his characters. The Russian president is a conniving man, lying to the public while secretly making preparations for military expansion. And the U.S. president? He is totally unpredictable. When a Democrat senator comes to him with inside information, the president's disdain for those in the other party is clear. Whether he would accept the intelligence provided and act on it is the huge question.

The plot is full of action from beginning to end. I felt all of it was possible. It really portrays the current tension between the U.S. and Russia. Rosenberg has done a great job of weaving a fictional story around the facts and real characters in the international scene.

I felt the end was abrupt and inconclusive. I trust this is because there will be a sequel otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a political thriller based on current events and attitudes.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
