Brae Mackenzie is a lost soul after the death of her husband. She has lost interest in her painting and her life. She is sent by her father to Scotland with an old map, to find out about her grandparents and her history. She is met by Damon, a stolid Scot who will help her find herself and her true love. This novel is heartfelt, enthralling and beautiful. It drew me in through its descriptions of Scotland and held me in its hand as I discovered Brae's true personality and life. A love story more than a romance, this book will break your heart before it puts it back together again. A fully engaging rollercoaster of a ride from the first to the last page. I occasionally lost myself in the setting, the glorious Scotland, but was enticed back to the story through the honest and believable characters. A well written piece of literature that is certainly worth reading and definitely worth the purchase price. Read the book’s description and blurs for the plot, as I will not hint at any spoilers.
