As a fan of other books by this author I really enjoyed these two short stories (not normally my favourite form). They had interesting characters (while not always the most likeable) and there was lots going on

I preferred Catering to the CEO - I think mainly because the secondary characters (the family) were much more likeable and entertaining than Stephen's friends in the first

Two fun, fast reads in one book!

In The Eye of the Storm is a boss/employee romance. Stephan and Holly make a great team in the office but when they get stranded together during a storm, their chemistry heats up. Loved it!

In Catering to the Ceo, Adam and Cassie are like oil and water but when they stop fighting long enough to get to know each other, their chemistry flies! I was not a big fan of Adam at first. He was very controlled and jumped to too many conclusions. I loved Cassie! She was sweet and confident. Very good!

2 Samantha Chase stories is always a good thing...in one book even better. Love in the office is never a good thing but when it happens it's time to enjoy. Samantha Chase writing is always entertaining and the short stories are perfect for an enjoyable read.

Let me start by saying that boss romances are not my favorite trope. But considering they were written by Samantha Chase, I’m always willing to read anything!
I very much enjoyed Holly and Stephen in In The Eye of The Storm. Yes, he’s demanding and frankly clueless as to the gem he has in Holly. Oh, he knows how well she helps him run his company...because, let’s face it, she does as much work as he does. But until the night of the storm and her “rescue” of him, he doesn’t see her as a woman, too. But once he does, there’s electricity in thecair, and it’s not due to the storm! Holly is a hoot, with the patience of a saint, frankly, for all she does for Stephen. And she’s proven that she is both smart enough and strong enough to not let this huge personality overshadow her. I loved this pairing.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Cassie and Adam. He’s a complete ass and she’s a dope for putting up with it. Yes, his company is a big account for her catering business. But I personally would rather be catering little league banquets than work with/for a man like him. His expected turn-around was too little, too late for me.
3.5 Stars combined...4 for Holly and Stephen, 3 for Cassie and Adam ( which is mostly for the writing)

I received an ARC from the publisher. All comments are my own

Loved this duo of romances. One of my pet peeves about these omnibus editions is that the stories are sometimes too much alike that I feel like I’m reading the same book twice BUT NOT with this one! Both stories are boss/employee stories but Into the Eye of the Storm is all about slow burning secret crush while Catering to the CEO is enemy to lover at its best!!!
Both couple were believable and endearing in their own way. Great way to get to great stories!

IN THE EYE OF THE STORM and CATERING TO THE CEO, a pair of perfectly paired short novels by Samantha Chase were originally released in 2013. They have something else in common: they both involve falling in love with rich bosses.

The hero in each story is a good-looking, workaholic CEO who is very demanding of those that work for him. Neither man has any interest in a serious relationship, but both have become attracted to an employee on whom they have come to rely heavily. While both women, a personal assistant in the first book and a caterer in the second, are strongly attracted to their bosses, neither holds much hope that anything lasting will develop. Similar premises, but their roads to possible HEAs are different so the readers are kept guessing.

Both stories are well-written, and surprise, steamier than her current novels. The sex is much more explicit than in her most recent stories which tend to leave the sex up to the imagination of the reader. I would have expected it to be the other way around, but I honestly think I prefer the subtlety of her current style of writing.

I enjoyed the chance to read two of Samantha’s earlier novels since I missed them the first time around. I’m giving this delightful duo four stars.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers’ Copy of this novel.

Both of these stories are stories that have been previously released and can be read alone without any previous knowledge of other books. Both are sweet love stories. The cover is very attractive.
I have no complaints, but they are both so predictable. While I love Ms. Chase’s books, I prefer to read one, let some time pass by reading other authors, then coming back to her again.

Two wonderful CEO books equals one awesome book!

In the eye of the storm
Stephen Ballinger is Holly’s boss and owner of Ballinger’s. Holly is his personal assistant and loves her job until one night when Stephen pushes her job duties a little to far. A bar fight and a storm lead to a weekend spent together. This was a very sweet and romance story. It had me laughing, smiling and even a bit frustrated as parts. I loved both Stephen and Holly and also Will and maybe even Derek a little. You will definitely want to read this and see the journey the storm lead these two on.

Catering to the CEO
Adam Lawrence is the CEO of an international security company. He is strict and likes things a certain way. Personally throughout most of the book I kind of felt like he was a jerk. Although He would than do something that gave you a glimpse of the decent guy he could be. Cassandra owns her own catering business and has catered events for Adam for two years, although lately she seems to keep butting heads with him and speaking her mind, not something he is used to people doing to him. I must say though by the end of the book Adam was completely redeemed and I ended up loving him.

This is a duo you won’t want to miss. You get two amazing stories all in one book!! What could be better than that!! Happy Reading!!

Two fun contemporary romances packaged into one book from favorite Ms. Chase.

Stephen Ballinger is a demanding boss but waking Holly up from a sound sleep on a stormy night crosses the linen even for him. Then Holly is stranded at his house when felled trees from the storm prevent her from getting back home. The attraction that has been simmering for some time between boss and assistant flares up under the circumstances leading to some fun sexy times.
Steve wants to protect Holly's reputation so they decide on a hidden office romance. As it turns out Steve's employees don't seem to care but his best friends are jealous of losing him to a woman. In an interesting twist, one of these friends decides to throw a twist into the budding romance. Can the two lovers find their way back together to find forever love and romance?
Adam and Cassie are like chalk and cheese. She caters all his office parties putting up with his extreme micro management until one day he gets on her last nerve. She works out on him leaving him in the lurch on the party she's in the midst of planning for him. Would Adam have found another caterer and given up on Cassie? Fortunately he's doesn't need to find out. That very evening he's invited to a family dinner party only to find out that Cassie's dad and Adam's mom are getting engaged. Can these two work out their differences and find a way to create a bridge between them for the sake of their parents.
Adam is not a character that I cared for. He is too intense and too quick to jump to conclusions. Sweet Cassie is too good for him. Cassie's family is a nice foil to Adam's darkness plus it's a good thing her dad is willing to try to forge a truce otherwise who knows how long it would have taken the unhappy lovers a way to find their way back.
I love Ms. Chase's fun, flirty emotional romances but did not feel these two short stories quite measured up to the benchmark I have set for her.

Holly got a call from hre boss Stephan at 2 A M to come get him. Holly had been sound asleep in bed but did get up to get him. Worse off there was a storm going on. Holly was Stephan’s personal assistant. She already worked twelve hour days with him and then he would call her at eight A M on a Saturday morning with things for ehr to work on. Holly thought she could quit she had some savings she could live on until she got another job. Other companies would love to have Holly work for them as she was a hard worker, she doesn’t take a lot of time off and she is never sick. She is available almost 24/7 as she really doesn’t have social life anyway. Holly has worked for Stephen for three years and he was a workaholic A lot of things Holly did was after her twelve hour work day. Holly pulled into a parking lot of a bar and Stephen was answering his cell phone so she had to go out in the storm to get him. Stephan had gotten into a fist fight with his two best friends Will and Derek and it had to do with Holly. Holly had enough and told Stephen she quit. If Derek and Will thought she and Stephen were sleeping together Holly wonders what the rest of the office thinks. After getting Stephen to his house he grabbed her car keys and told her he wasn’t letting her drive anymore on this stormy night and she could sleep in one of his guests rooms. The next morning Stephen had made Holly breakfast and she tried to go home but had only been gone five minutes as trees were doen blocking the road so she had to go back to Stephen’s. Stephan knew she had to stay Holly’s mind.and get her to stay as his P A as with her his business had advanced as much as it has without Holly. Derek and Stephen apologized to each other and they were ok but Will wasn’t speaking to either of them right now. Stephan planned on never having kids or getting married. But his home was huge and he told Holly that this house had everything he ever wanted in a house. So Holly and Luke decided to go down to his home theater and watch a couple movies and Holly made some snacks first. After the movies they decided to do some work. Stephen apologized for calling her so late, working her so hard, calling her on the weekends- everything. Luke’s eyes had suddenly been opened and he realized Holly was a fascinating woman who was more attractive then he ever had noticed. Holly had made Stephen laugh and smile more in one day then he had in years. Growing up poor had made Stephen determined to have the beat of everything. In less than twenty four hours Holly had turned everything upside down. Stephen called Will and apologized and then things were o k between them. Luke told Will everything had changed since he spent the day with Holly and Will said no it was always there but Stephen would not let himself think about it because he was so focused on his business. Will told Stephen he had to decide if he wanted Holly for an assistant or lover. Holly came out when Stephen was sitting in the dark with a drink Then Stephan told her maybe she should quit and kissed her. Holly and Stephen became lovers. But after the weekend they decided to just go back to being employee and employer.
BOOK 2 Catering To The CEO
Cassie was used to Adams demands, his tirades, his cold and brutal treatment of people around him but today she had enough and told Adam she was done Adam was the CEo of a large International Security Company. .Cassis was an CSS International preferred caterer and event planner. Cassie said that CJ Delights had enjoyed providing their service for all his events in the past two years but she could not meet Adams request this time. Losing his account would put a large dent in her five year plan of paying off the loans she had taken out to start her business. Adam said if she left now their contract was done but Cassie kept walking. Cassie was scared for her business but she felt someone had to stand up to Adam and she just had enough. Then Cassie’s dad Stephan asked her to make dinner and he had two extra guests besides their family. Once all Stephan’s kids were there he and talked for a little bit Stephan told them he had been seeing a woman named Bev who had one son and they were there. The son was Adam who had fired Cassie today and she was very mad. Adam realized no one laughed around him. This was the first time in when he couldn’t remember that he was surrounded by people having a good time. When had his life become such a misery. Cassie came out to drive back to her shop to get dessert she had forgot there and Adam said he was going to ride with her and maybe they could clear the air as their parents were going to married so they would be family. He checked out her business when she went in to get the dessert and he was surprised to learn they she lived in an apartment above her business. Adam admitted Cassie’s company had always done a good job for his company Nothing she had made had disappointed at his events. Adam asked her to continue on the Fall Retreat event. Cassie said she would but some things had to be said - first she no longer wanted to be spoken to like she’s an idiot. She expects him to trust her when it comes to event planning and catering because that is what she does for a living. Adam decided Cassie had crossed a line Cassie permanently Adam has known Cassie for two years but all of a sudden he was driving past ehr home and he stopped and knocked at her doors later on Cassie thought she wasn’t supposed to be having a good time with Adam. Cassie still didn’t fully trust Adam. Cassie had Endometriosis and decided to have surgery she was having a lot more pain and she wanted at least a baby someday so after her surgery Lauren spent the first day with her and Katie sent a lot of the next day with her but Cassie was happy to finally be alone and relax. Later on in late afternoon Adam showed up with pizza and milkshakes and they watched a movie. Then Adam kissed Cassie.
I really enjoyed both books in this set a lot. They were both fun easy romances. I loved Holly and Stephen together as well as Cassie and Adam. Although it was a lot harder to like Adam as he was such a control freak. He acted like a butt through a lot of this book I would have liked more back story especially in Adam. I did feel like I was there with the characters in both books. I did feel the romance was a little rushed with Adam and Cassie .after two years and Cassie quits Adam as well as Cassie are so attracted to each other but it was still a good book and I enjoyed it a lot. I had no problem I had no problem with keeping my attention on both books. I really liked the plot and the pace for the most part. I did love how Cassie's family was so close. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of these books and I recommend.

In the Eye of the Storm:
Holly has been Stephen's PA for two years and has held her tongue about her lack of a social life and his wanting her to work 24/7. Having to go out in a storm at 2am to get his drunk behind, she had enough. Stuck at his house to ride out the storm for the weekend quickly turns into romance as they each see each other in a new light. Stephen has to learn to separate work from pleasure if he wants Holly to stay with him.

Great character development and written in Chase's fun style with relatable situations that make for a fun read.

Catering to the CEO:
Adam is a hardass CEO who is used to getting his way in all things. When his caterer Cassie of 2 years has the nerve to say no to him he fires her. Life has a way of making you regret haste decisions as now their parents are engaged and no caterer will take the job. Adam and Cassie are the ultimate opposites attract and people having to learn to trust in each other to make it work. The ending was true Chase writing that is chuckle worthy.

Once again Samantha Chase has proven she is one of the best authors in the publisher world today. Her characters jump off the pages and her families within these stories are so much like what most families are today. Not these unrealistic families who really don't act like everyone we would run into on the street. These families and couples fight like real people, love like real people and tear our hearts opened like real people would when you heard their stories. I always wait not so patiently for her next release. Samantha Chase knows how to bring these characters to life within her books.

Two great romances in one book. They were funny and romantic. My favorite was "the eye of the storm".

In the Eye of the Storm: Another easy breezy story for ya. It’s a work place romance with very little angst. Stephen and Holly were both characters you’d root for. If you’ve seen the movie Two Week Notice and liked it, then you’ll love this little gem. It runs along similar lines. Very heartfelt and fun.

Catering to the CEO: OH, this story was such fun. First we have the push pull and add a a little sprinkle of wait, what? you're dating his/her father/mother? Bwaaahahahahhaha THEN you add the bonus of Adam having to crawl back to Cassie and seriously, a good time was had by all! Not kidding you, this one is a great story! Sweet and sexy and full of heart.

I'd highly recommend either of these books but why not just buy the duo and read them both?! :)

Holly and Stephen are forced to spend non-work time together, and Stephen is faced with the truth of his workaholic behavior. Boss/employee. An easy, fun read.
Adam is one of Cassie's best clients, but his overbearing attitude finally makes her snap. Adam is forced to realize how much Cassie has done for his business and must face the music. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Samantha Chase hit a home run with this duo of books (In the Eye of the Storm / Catering to the CEO). Great chemistry between the characters, witty dialog and plenty of steamy scenes. Both books are fun, light reads from one of the best romance authors around.

Two great stories in on book. I really enjoyed both of these stories. They were quick reads and I found myself wanting to read more. I can tell a difference in her writing style but it's not a bad thing. I recommend this box set.

In the Eye of the Storm
Ugh..Derek, I mean with friends like that who needs enemies! In all seriousness, In the Eye of the Storm is the wonderful story of two people who act upon their recognized attraction with a sweet outcome. Holly has been the Personal Assistant of Stephen for three years. Although she has always had a secret crush on him, she never acting on it until one faithful night when Stephen calls and needs to be rescued from a bar. The storm they find themselves in is brutal and it strands them together for a weekend that is swoon-worthy. There is a bit of drama, Derek getting involved when he shouldn’t have, but I have to give Holly credit. She could have fed into the drama and made Stephen suffer however, she initiated their happily ever after.

Catering to the CEO
I was drawn to Adam from the very beginning of the book. He’s like the perfect man (even with his control-freak attitude). Cassie was sweet, passionate, and naïve. Together they make the perfect opposites attract couple. Adam is the CEO of his company and he definitely has ideas of the ways things should be. Cassie is a smart small business owner that operates her own catering business. To say that the two butt heads is an understatement. I loved how Cassie was able to not only stand up for herself and the people around her. She also made Adam a better man. She was able to fill a void that Adam didn’t know was there. I appreciated the times when Adam’s softer side was visible. I loved their happily-ever-after.
