I really enjoyed Jeb and Mariah's story. Jeb took one last mission for the Queen because it would get him the life that he wanted. He didn't count on come back with the love of his life.

I really liked Mariah. She went against her father to do what she knew was right for her and the country. That took guts!

I am really looking forward to reading the last of the series, but will be sad to see these characters go.

I really enjoyed the first two books and definitely need to check out other books by this author! Unfortunately, although this was an enjoyable read, it ended up being my least favorite in the series. As always, I did enjoy the romance and the writing style.

Enjoyed the story, even if it was a bit predictable. It made me want to read the other books in the series.

Lieutenant Jeb Danvers is a member of the elite team known as the Traitor's Club. He decides to take on one last assignment for the Queen and the reward she offered. The rewards for this assignment would give him the resources to make his dream of a horse farm become a reality. His mission was to travel to Scotland to visit Laird MacFarlane, a school friend of his fathers and find the person who sent the Queen a letter and one of the missing jewels and retrieve the rest of the jewels and bring them back to England. He meets Mariah MacFarlane and discovers she’s the one who had contacted the Queen. Together they race across Scotland and England to bring the jewels back home to England and to stop her father and his nefarious plans. I loved the book it’s filled with adventure and romance, heart breaking moments of life and death tragedies and a surprise visit from the Queen.
This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

If the Queen asked you to track down some stolen jewels, would you help? Only if you were Lieutenant Jeb Danvers, part of an elite team known as the Traitor's Club that had spied for the Crown during the war and had barely survived. But also if you needed more resources to claim your dream and the crown offered them for your service. The key was coming out alive and Jeb had all intentions if possible of accomplishing that goal. He travels to Scotland to visit Laird MacFarlane, a school friend of his fathers who is suspected of hiding the jewels. He meets Mariah MacFarlane, his daughter and finds that she is the one who had contacted the Queen.. Desperate to escape her father and get the jewels back to England, home of her deceased mother, is all that Mariah can think about. She finds out her father has nefarious plans for the money the jewels can bring and she is determined to stop him. This is where the adventure and suspense begins as Jeb and Mariah try to make it back to England without being killed. This was an action packed novella, though short packed a punch with the storyline. Laura Landon delivers again with a tale that will keep you going and make you want to read all the books in this series.

This story features Jeb Danvers, one of four members of a team of spies for the queen during the Crimean War dubbed the Traitor’s Club. Jeb was captured and tortured during the war and wants nothing more than a peaceful life in the country breeding horses. Dangerous secret missions are in his past until he his asked to go undercover to Scotland to recover jewels stolen from England two hundred years ago. His reward for succeeding at the mission is an Arabian Stallion that would be a great boon to his stable, so he reluctantly accepts. When he arrives in Scotland he discovers that Mariah MacFarlane, the daughter of his host, is his contact. Can he trust her? If he does, can they escape and make it back to England safely? They agree to try. What follows is a wild race back to London.

Laura Landon delivers a tightly woven, fast-paced plot and strong characters. In this story she manages to weave a wonderful love story into a great adventure. The other Traitors are all here, and we meet Jeb’s father. Jeb’s story is an exciting addition to The Traitor’s Club series. I highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The review is voluntary; the comments are my own.

This was a fast paced storyline involving Jeb, a member of the Traitor’s club. His mission leads him to Mariah. Mariah has a troubled relationship with her father and has discovered a plot he is involved in. Jeb and Mariah have a dangerous ride to safety and although their feelings for each other deepen, there are forces at work determined to ensure there is no happy ending. This was an entertaining read and I enjoyed it so much, I purchased another of the series. I received a copy from Netgalley and have voluntarily reviewed it.

Laura Landon is also one of those authors whose books I buy without even looking at the blurb because every book I've read so far has been amazing. The Traitor's Club series is her latest series and I really love those guys. We married off Hugh and Ford in the other two books and now Jeb is on his way to Scotland, right in the middle of intrigue, rebellion and - of course- danger. This assignment is meant to be his very last one, a special one that comes directly from the Queen herself who has promised him a very nice and useful reward.

Well, when he arrives in Scotland and gets to know his host's daughter Mariah, he might find that some unexpected rewards are the ones that really count. Oh, right, you have to get away first, preferably alive, to make things even more complicated. Let's just say that his host might think that Jeb has taken something of value on his trip back, maybe even two things and somehow things very soon get very rough.

Jeb and Mariah are a wonderful couple, tough, lovable, charming and so very much in love with each other that you can almost see the sparks flying off the pages.I really loved those two and I also loved the way the Traitors were there when one of their own needed them. The story is captivating and well told, keeping me glued to my reader from the first page on. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series!

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. The story revolves around jewels that were removed from a royal English crown. One of the stones was sent to the Queen who requests Jeb go to Scotland in an attempt to retrieve jewels stolen. Their he meets Mariah who gives him the jewels, she stole from her father’s hiding place, on the condition he take her with him. The story is intriguing and keeps your attention. This is a very sweet romance story and appropriate for any age, even young girls. I enjoyed the book and recommend it for a quick read.

Lieutenant Jeb Danvers is a former spy and “traitor” who has no desire to resume his work for the crown, but when Her Majesty makes him an offer that he cannot refuse, he agrees to take one last mission.

His mission is to travel to Scotland and find out who sent the Queen a jewel from a crown that was stolen years ago and assumed lost and retrieve the rest of the jewels. The package sent to the Queen was traced back to the MacFarlane clan and Jeb is expected to use his family connections to gain entrance.

Jeb’s father, the Earl of Stafford went to school with Laird MacFarlane and Jeb uses that connection to stay with him for a few days. He hopes to find the person who sent the jewels and return to England as quickly as possible.
Jeb meets Mariah MacFarlane shortly after he arrives and knows he has found the person who sent the jewel – but why? Why would Mariah turn on her own father?

Mariah MacFarlane is impressed by the Englishman sent by the Queen and out of loyalty to her English mother, she will do all she can to help him retrieve and return the jewels, but she has one condition, she goes to London with Jeb. She knows once her father learns of her deeds, there will be no going back to Scotland - - - ever.

Jeb doesn’t want Mariah to be involved, any more than she already is, but knows her life will be forfeit if she stays. Over the few days spent in her company, he has come to admire her and he cannot deny their mutual attraction, but until the jewels are safely returned to the Queen and Mariah’s father has been brought to justice, there can be no future for them.

As they travel to London, Mariah shares her reasons for turning on her father and also admits to the attraction between them, however, there is no time to explore their deeper feelings as they are being pursued by her father and his men. They narrowly escape the first attack, but are not so lucky the next time. Jeb is shot and Mariah risks her own life to save him.

They hide out at Caleb’s house and Mariah nurses Jeb back to health. They both know they are in love, but until they can find a way to keep her father away from her – there is no way they can have a real relationship. When Jeb’s father shows up at Caleb’s house, he insists that Jeb and Mariah return with him. He has a plan to draw out her father and end the standoff once and for all.
Unfortunately, things do not go as planned and Mariah is shot and in grave danger of losing her life. This is when Jeb realizes that she is the love of his life and that he cannot imagine life without her.

This was a short novella, but of the three I’ve read, this was hands down the best of the bunch. I loved this story, it is well written, flows perfectly, it has amazing depth for such a short book, it has a lot of action, some warmish love scenes, a lot of heart break, a visit from the Queen and from the other “traitors” and finally, a beautifully done HEA.

This is the third book in the series, but it could easily be read as a standalone title with no problems at all. I highly recommend this story and can’t wait for Caleb’s book!!

4.5stars
Lieutenant Jeb Danvers wants to retire but agrees to undertake one last secret mission for the Queen. She’s offered him an Arabian stallion & a small fortune, an offer he cannot help but accept as it will mean he can start his breeding stable. He discovers that the jewels she has sent him to recover are in the possession of the beautiful Mariah MacFarlane, is he walking into a trap & why does the Laird of Langholm turn an evening’s conversation into what seems like an interrogation
A quick delightful read, Jeb & Mariah are attracted to each other from their first meeting & this only grows on their flight to London. I read this novella in an afternoon, the plot is fast paced & kept me engrossed. I’m loving this series & can’t wait for Caleb’s story.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

I should really pay more attention when I request titles, although I could've sworn there was nothing about this book being for Kindle only.
I don't have a Kindle; and this is not the first time this happens to me. :( I blame Amazon and its market monopoly; now everything is linked to Amazon.
Also, sorry about the tepid 3 neutral stars: NG won't let me submit this without a rating.
