I used to be a big fan of this author, especially the early books, but not so much now. The story really had no plot, but still managed to leave me with questions. I never really figured out why the main character left suddenly, which launched the basis for the story. The story was predictable and dragged on an on with lots of
repeated dialogue.

Kian finds out in the most tragic way that he’s a father to a young girl who has just lost her mother. Yet the mother is not the woman he has always loved and wanted to be with. Oh no that is his daughter’s auntie, Roxie.

Roxie and Kian had been in a relationship and she left. It got too much for her and she ran. I remember reading this book and seeing Kian only wanting to protect his girls and I can’t lie it was an emotional read. These kinds of stories tug at my heartstrings. I did want to shake some sense into Roxie on numerous occasions because whilst denying herself the chance to be with Kian is her own choice. She’s entitled to do that.

I also have to admit that Kian was a bit let’s say forceful at times and needed to let Roxie get to a place where she was comfortable but his book made me think. Life is too short and you shouldn’t let your chances of love and happiness get away. I’m truly glad I read this book even if I did weep like a baby at parts of this book.

I am so happy to finally be back reading Melody Anne. Her books are an automatic one click for me!

I've read previous books from this author and loved it, so I was really excited to read Kian. Unfortunately, this book was not one for me. The beginning of the book was good and had me hooked but that changed quickly with the main heroine Roxie. I could not connect with her and it seems as if the whole time she cried "poor me." She did more crying than her 3 year old niece who I felt she had no connection with at all. Roxie was childish, selfish and stubborn. I truly disliked her. I liked Kian. He was more than considerate when it came to Roxie and their situation. I enjoyed reading his moments with Lily no matter how small or short those moments were, but that wasn't enough to make me enjoy this book. I really wanted to like this story but it's hard to like a story when you can't connect with the characters and you feel that everything that is going on has such "fakeness" to it. Some parts were so unbelievable and I just couldn't.

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I debated not rating it as I didn't finish it, but yet I didn't finish it because it was that bad and skimming the book I found that it didn't seem to have much improvement.

I was bothered by the hero sleeping with the heroines sister, really bothered.
~JUST NO~

And the heroine's thought process, actions, behavior was just to juvenile, silly and ridiculous.
~How she left the hero (wrong and immature)
~Why she left the hero (made no sense and was silly)
~Her behavior and reasoning on her return (not communicating or working things out like adults)

And after a third into the story, the frustration and irritation of the heroine and the storyline, I was done.

Melody Anne never disappoints! Kian’s character was alpha without being a complete jerk and I found myself completely invested in both characters.

I begin a novel by Melody Anne knowing I will like it. I may not care for some of the characters as much as others, but they always win me ver. Kian is case in point, a book about getting a second chance. Roxie fought Kian and their attraction to each other every step of the way, which drove me crazy. Kian was relentless though and as tension mounted, so did the danger. A good book from one of my favorites!

Anyone who has read previous reviews of mine will know I absolutely love Melody Anne books...I adore the characters especially Joseph and his matchmaking shenanigans with his friends and their children.
With that said I really enjoyed this book but I found Roxie hard to like. In the beginning even throughout the whole book she kept saying she couldn’t look past the betrayal of Kian sleeping with her sister...who I might add he had no clue she was even Roxie’s sister. In the same breath she said that she forgave her sister even after finding out that her sister only slept with Kian as a revenge tactic against both of them.
How she could forgive her sister who did it knowing that Roxie was in love with Kian but have issues forgiving Kian who was just as much a victim was beyond me.

Kian on the other hand I absolutely loved...he was patient, caring, and overall an amazing character. I also loved the intertwined stories from previous books, we get new characters but also see and hear about the older ones we grew to love in passed books.
I REALLY want to see what happened between Eden and Owen but looks like I’ll have to wait until after Arden’s book.

*Sigh* I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn't get past the immaturity and flat out stupidity of Roxie. Roxie left her home and serious boyfriend 4 years ago and has returned an experienced nurse (because that's realistic in just 4 years...). She's home since her sister was brutally stabbed in her home and her 3 year old daughter was also hurt. Her sister died, but the niece lived and now Roxie will have to become a mother for her niece. Only the niece is actually the daughter of her former serious boyfriend, Kian, who had a one-night-stand with her sister. Yeah, it's a big mess. I could get over that part.

But it's hard to look past Roxie insisting on staying at her dead sister's house where the crime happened, even though they still haven't caught the murderer, know that someone tried to break in and she's not safe there. Oh, and she's so smart that she leaves a key under a pot for anyone to find, because that's what everyone does when a murderer is still out there that may come back and finish what he started. Roxie was so stubborn that she couldn't look past her own drama and think about the 3 year old girl she was caring for. And on top of all that, she refuses to give Kian a chance (even though she'll sleep with him again) and keeps him from spending a lot of time with his daughter he just discovered because she wants 'some time.' The whole book she's like 'I want to sleep with him, but I don't want anything else to do with him and maybe I should just run because I don't want to lose myself again in him.'

I have to say that Kian is a saint. I certainly wouldn't have had his patience. I loved everything about him, he was the perfect guy who only loved one lady and was left heartbroken when Roxie unexpectedly left to 'find herself' 4 years ago. Yes, he made a mistake, but he fully owned up to his lack of judgement that one night and stepped up to the plate to be a father. He was there for Roxie & Lily and protected them as much as he could, given how much Roxie pushed him away. Kian is the only reason why I gave this 3 instead of 2 stars.

The whole ending was kind of sudden though. I didn't get how Roxie did a total 180 that quickly - it was all quite bi-polar-like. The epilogue was sweet though and they get their HEA, but by that point, I loathed Roxie so much that I couldn't really appreciate them as a family.

There were also some scenes where the father's all got together and discussed match-making. It was hard to figure out who was related, to be honest. I found myself wondering if maybe there was another book before this one that would have helped make more sense of those 3 guys, who their kids were and how it was all related, but since this is the first in the series, I guess I'll just have to be confused.

I'll probably still read the next book since I did like the supporting characters and hope that they'll have a stronger heroine on their side than Kian did. I think he just drew the short stick in this one.

I enjoyed this read, though it's a bit more sorted than my usual fare.

They were high school sweethearts. Everyone knew they'd get married someday. Yet, one day she left him, leaving behind a note that offered no explanation or excuses. The promiscuous sail his life took after her abandonment has left at least one child and a twisted betrayal in its wake. Reunited, under the worst set of circumstances, they may just find love again.

As long as the whole, I knocked up the sister of the only woman I've ever loved, thing doesn't scare you off, this is a well-written read that entertains all the way through. The heroine, for all her pluck, seems really naive about the potential danger she and her niece maybe in. I often wonder why authors choose to write characters who endanger their safety in spite of good council and sound reasoning. Such characters always irritate me and reduce my rating. The heroine of this romance is one such as this, hence 4 stars.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Kian is an honest man, “if I were truly an animal, I’d jump up and mount you,” he threatened. That thought had him all the way hard again." Kian doesn't mind showing off his jealous side, “I don’t care. You don’t need to be dancing with Evan,” Kian said." I liked this book, I loved Kian the man took care of what was his.

This is the highly emotional story of Kian and Roxie. They had been a couple and she left without a word 4 years ago. a tragic accident involving her sister and niece brought her back to town. Kian still had strong feelings for her and kept trying to bring her around. She sure was stubborn. Everytime they made love, she pulled back saying it was a mistake. Kian had the patience of a saint. I loved the back story of the grandfathers. It was funny. All and all I loved this book and look forward to the rest of the series.

Kian is a very rich but a dedicated doctor. When Roxie the love of his life left abruptly for no reason he knew of 4 years previously he drowned his sorrows and slept around having one night stands.
One of these women is brought into the emergency department after being attacked and stabbed, with her is her 4 year old daughter. Kian recognised the victim as Roxie's sister, and unable to save her, before she dies she tell Kian that he is the father of her Daughter.
Enter Roxie who is determined to bring up her niece herself, but Kian is having none of that, and has the resources to take sole custody, but, he would rather they bring her up together.
There is still much love and passion between the two and this is well written with drama and emotion.
An enjoyable read which I thoroughly enjoyed, but, my only niggle was I couldn't get round Roxie's reason for leaving Kian to 'find herself ' didn't gel somehow, others may get that...I didn't, perhaps because I've never been lost!
My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book honestly.

Great plot but it dragged a bit and I'm just not fond of books in third person. The back and forth with the main characters almost takes away from the main plotline and the subplot line. Not Melody's best work, but I love her other books!

This is the first book I have read from this author, but it won't be my last!

This book started out with a bang and grabbed me by the throat from the get go!  This is the story of Kian and Roxie.  They have a long history and unfortunately events led them to a long separation. But a horrible incident forces them together again and the feelings and circumstances that they go through are moving.

I liked the alternate POV's of each of the main characters and also a secondary character makes a few chapters which excites me to see that this is the first in a new series by this author.  I can't wait to see what the future books will tell.

This is a fast paced, steamy, angsty novel that I wasn't able to put down once I started.  And that really says a lot.  My reading style is that if something doesn't grab me from the get go, I have a hard time keeping with the story.  I surely did not have a problem with this book!

I'm a sucker for second chance all consuming romances. Kian is defiantly an amazing all consuming second chance. Fate works in mysterious ways or rather meddling ways when you have Joseph and Sherman in the mix. Kian has loved Roxie for so long and it's touching how he handles her return into his life. Roxie where do I even start with her. Yes she is somewhat a mess and you do get the understanding of why. Roxie is afraid of loosing herself. I'm sure there are many out there me including that can relate with that. It sad that a tragedy brought them back together. But you know what I think all that made Kian and Roxie stronger in the end. I love love Kian by Melody Anne. I'm having trouble with picking my favorite book of hers because they all have touched me in so many ways. Kian was no different. The pull between Kian and Roxie is undeniable. The love Kian shows for Lily is beautiful. Kian is such an amazing start to Melody Anne's Undercover Billionaire series. I really can't wait to see the rest of the Forbes men fall. This book will grip your heart and not let go.

This is a good read about second chance romance. I enjoyed reading this story however I wish there was a more in dept background to why Roxie left in the beginning of the book. Both characters, Roxi and Kian are strong likable characters. Lily is adorable. I can't wait to read more by this author. I would recommend this book.

Kian is the first book I have read by Melody Anne and I really liked it! It was an intense and emotional second chance romance about Kian and Roxie. They definitely had issues and were both frustrating at times but they were good together! Lily was so cute! I am looking forward to reading more by this author!

i love the connecting series that Melody Anne, writes. The matchmaking is in the background, but you know that it is there and helps us root for the couple.
Kian has more patience than most men. He gives Roxie time and space, Plus gives his daughter attention regardless of the problems that he and Roxie have.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.
