I must say, I'm loving this darker side of L.A. Fiore. This story has a fairytale feel to it, even with the darkness. It even has a fairy godmother of sorts. The fact that it takes place in Scotland only adds to the magic.
Brochan and Lizzie are a spectacular couple. They come from similar backgrounds but have become two totally different people.
Lizzie was neglected by her parents then abused in boarding school. She finds a way to cope through art.
Brochan was tormented by his father. His way of expressing himself is much darker.
Their connection is instant but it takes a bit for them to become a couple.
I feel Lizzie has a bit of magic in her with how Brochan starts to change..but he doesn't completely, which I was happy about. This journey of discovery is beautiful. I absolutely love L.A. and she didn't disappoint in this story. I hope to see more of this side of her.

This book takes you on an emotional journey that spans years. It starts out by absolutely breaking your heart and wanting to cry. But as you read on the dark ride comes with a light at the end of the tunnel for both Lizzie and Brochan. By the end of this book you will realize everything they went through was shaped who they are and they wouldn't be there if it was any different. L.A. Fiore totally rocked this book. I'm excited to see what's next from this author.

I have never read a book from L.A. Fiore that I didn't love, and Savage was no exception. This book was fantastic and I couldn't put it down. I was immediately drawn in to Lizzie and Brochan's story and I felt like I was right there along with the characters.

Brochan is a loner that lives in Scotland and besides a close few that know him, the town is filled with rumors of him being a monster. Lizzie is from New York and is an artist. Each one of them had terrible childhoods that changed who they were. But when fate brings them together and Lizzie finds herself in Scotland, they can't help but feel drawn to one another.

I loved both Lizzie and Brochan. My heart went out to both of them, as each of them had been through so much. These two were a damaged and had never know love as they should have, and it was so clear that these two needed each other. I loved that Lizzie wasn't afraid of Brochan and that she was there for him, even finding out everything that she did. These two belonged together and I loved seeing them help to heal each other. The chemistry was strong, but their connection was even better.

Overall, this book was such a rich experience. L.A. Fiore has such a way with words, and this story was as beautiful as it was heartbreaking at times. I felt like I was right there with the characters experiencing everything as they did. This book was emotional and had a lot of depth, with just enough mystery and suspense to keep me interested. I recommend anything by L.A. Fiore, but Savage is definitely one of my new favorites from her.

This book was so beautifully written. Aside from the darkness that was endured, I loved everything about it. Lizzie & Brochan have survived the unspeakable from their childhoods and the imprint of such abuse has made an indelible impact for them now as adults. Lizzie is beautiful, witty and a savvy survivor. Brochan is fierce, loyal, and rageful about his past. The secrets unfold as these two fatefully meet through a link between Lizzie's aunt that she never had a chance to meet. Upon inheriting this aunt's cottage in Scotland we are ignited on an incredible journey of discovery, redemption and the most beautiful love. Two broken souls become everlasting in this beautiful tale. L.A. Fiore's writing is so incredibly vivid and detailed it actually feels as though you've been transported to this amazing countryside. After heartache there is victory and then the most incredible ending creates happiness in the HEA

Lizzie Danton and Brochan McIntyre grew up lonely and without the love of their parents. But while Lizzie uses her art to escape and find the good things in the world, Brochan let his dark side surface and became what everyone believes to be a monster.
When Lizzie and Brochan's paths cross and their worlds collide, will they save each other and finally find happiness?

I loved Savage! The story is beautiful and intriguing, hooking me from the first page. Full of drama, suspense, mystery, secrets, twists, angst, and hot scenes, Lizzie and Brochan's story is the perfect dark romance.
I really loved the chemistry between Brochan and Lizzie and how they met. I also loved the double POV and the little glimpses of Brochan's and Lizzie's past.

Lizzie Danton was born to be the tie that forever connected her cruel mother to her distant father. But when things didn't go how her mother wanted, Lizzie became the target of her bullying and never found love and friendship until she met her best friend. She had a dark childhood but through her art tries to see the beauty of the world. She is a very sweet and kind young woman. When she lands in Scotland and meets Brochan, her whole world changes.
Brochan McIntyre upbringing was hell. His father hated him and blamed him for his mother's death. The only people that loved him and showed him kindness were the couple that raised him and a teacher. Now a man, Brochan let his dark side guide him and people believe he has become a monster. He's a very private and mysterious man that prefers his seclusion. But when he meets Lizzie everything changes for him.

L.A. Fiore hit the jackpot with Savage! Lizzie and Brochan's story is one of my favorite this year, with all its emotions, amazing characters, and awesome scenery. L.A.'s writing style is flawless and she makes it very easy to connect with the story and the characters, making the reader cry, scream, laugh, and swoon throughout this amazing romance. Another five stars read from L.A. Fiore!

This being the second book by this author that I have read, I can officially say that L.A. Fiore is an amazing author. Her stories are pretty perfect in my eyes. The details are incredible , and then characters are something beyond what I usually expect. I loved Lizzie and Brochan, and I loved every other detail surrounding them! Buy this book! Read this book...multiple times! That’s what I plan on doing...

When Lizzie finds out that she has inherited a cottage and some land in Scotland, she decides to go over and check it out. Lizzie wasn't even aware that her mother was Scottish, but they don't have a typical mother daughter relationship, they haven't spoken in years and Lizzie would rather keep it that way. Finding a completely different world in Scotland, Lizzie finds beauty in everything, that would include the man that the locals tell her to stay away from.

Brochan is a mystery and from the stories that are told about him, he is anywhere from a werewolf to a hitman. Lizzie ends up having a run in with him, and Brochan finds himself drawn to her, even though he needs to keep his distance, but he can see in her eyes that she has been through the same hell as he had been. Can he let Lizzie in, or will he push her away? Will it be too dangerous to even entertain that thoughts of being close to someone?

This was a very enjoyable read, a modern day Highland romance that has drama, violence, darkness, and some really hot sexy times. There is so much more going on in this story, but I don't want to spoil anything. I am actually left wanting more from this world the author has created. I give this 5 stars.

I loved this one!

I was kept on my toes with what was going to happen. The pain and coldness was felt, and it needed to be felt to see their story unfold to on of love and healing.

Each level and elements of the story was carefully planned and executed wonderfully.

There was mystery, pain, understanding, knowledge, gasps, forces and love.

So good! Such a great dark love story. My favorite! Powerful, emotional, suspenseful story about two damaged people finding a way to connect. The writing was beautiful and had me hooked from beginning to end. The Scotland setting was perfect backdrop for this story! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

The colourful descriptive tones used by this author left me in absolutely no doubt where her talent not only lay but where it was taking me, the journey was exquisitely presented like a beautifully painted picture, giving me the most stunning view of what she had in mind. I found the use of not just words, but detailed words, carefully selected words were judged to perfection and that care, that intent meant that this book was one that spoke to me.

The book is intense and rightly so, it starts off that way and is relentless, it has a brutality that for many may be difficult to carry off but that Ms Fiore hands with an accuracy and intensity that blew me away.

I wanted something deep and meaningful and I got just that…a story that was devastatingly mysterious, with a sense of mystery and the allure of something that for as much as it was broken, it wasn’t exactly earning to be fixed
I thought that Brochan was a fabulous character, a guy that when it came to being down and dirty, had all the moves and then some! He was an alpha male in every sense of the word and if I had to I would say it in great big shouty capital letters because there is no doubt that as deliciously dark and broken he was, this was a guy that was no-one’s fool. Add Lizzie into his sphere and the man was off the charts!!!

I loved Lizzie, she was just who Brochan needed and between them they turned what was an already admirable flame into an inferno…they set the pages alight!

I would implore you to read this, it is one not to be missed

I have so much to say about this book but to say it all would be to spoil the journey of these two characters. Brochan and Lizzie both have individual journeys and a journey together. It is magical, mystical, heart breaking and beautiful. I loved every page of this story, at times it hurt my heart to read but as the journeys came to an end my heart was full, put back together and makes me want to visit Scotland even more than I did before.

A hauntingly dark and beautiful story about love. I've never ran into the problem I have now. How do I review this story? How do I put all of my thoughts and emotions in this review? It feels so personal, this review. This book hit me so hard in the soul I feel I can't adequately explain how amazingly beautiful and well written this story is. I'm not sure how or why this book hit me as hard as it did. Within the first 5% of this book my heart was ripped out from the unbelievable, harsh upbringing these two lost souls had. Both Brochan and Lizzie took different paths in life. Yet both are destined to meet. I felt like a voyeur reading their interactions, a stalker waiting on the next Lizzie and Brochan scene.

Through the whole book one thing resonated through me, and maybe I'm at a time in my life I needed to read it. "You're not broken; you're just bent." Those words had a staggering effect on Brochan, they also had a staggering effect on me. Lizzie saved Brochan, Brochan saved Lizzie. Both were not broken, just a little bent. I refuse to give you a retread of the blurb, and I know this review isn't like some of my others. The reason being is because the book touched deep into my soul. I would have never thought a book could squeeze so much emotion and feelings from me. This one did. So read this. Lizzie and Brochan's story will move you, it will make you feel, it will also bring those emotions you've kept hidden to the front. And afterwards. Afterwards you will feel free. You will feel happy you started the broken fairytale journey with them.

I was intrigued by the blurb and thought, hey this kind of sounds like a fairy tale with some sexiness BUT this was beyond that!! The Prologue captured my full attention and I got lost in L.A. Fiore's mystical words!!

Despite what people thought about Brochan, I gradually fell in love with him because the monster everyone pictured him to be was just an outer appearance and not the TRUE Brochan!! Despite the childhood he had I knew that deep down he still had some goodness and beauty to share with someone.

Elizabeth's (Lizzie) young life was no better than Brochan yet she always found a way to look at the beauty rather than the darkness. I cried for the torment that she had to endure not only in the hands of her evil mother but others that have power over her.

Lizzie & Brochan were similar in that they were both broken souls that suffered the consequences of someone else's decision. And as hard as Brochan tries to deny the attraction he has towards Lizzie he knows that she is someone that can bring him to his knees. Instead of being scared Lizzie courageously plows through Brochan's walls because she sees the beauty he has hidden behind those walls.

I cannot tell you how much I FLOVED this story and how unique it was. I was floored and blown away because to me it was so different and just breathtaking! I was saddened when it came to an end and may I say that I would love more on them !! Thank you for such a unique and breathtaking story. One of my favorite reads of 2017!!!~Kara, 6 Stars

I gotta be honest: it doesn't take much for me to get pulled into a L.A. Fiore book, but this book right here? I was so engrossed in it I burned a batch of cookies I was baking.

I could literally live off of cookies for the rest of my days and be happy.

So the fact that I burned a batch proves how awesome I found this story to be.

I found it easy to find both Brochan and Lizzie so damn likable! Goodness knows, neither Brochan nor Lizzie had the childhood of dreams. More like the childhood of nightmares, to the nth degree. Each suffered a type of abuse, and I found it interesting in the paths they followed through to adulthood in response to what they survived as children; both are successful in their chosen professions, even if one's career isn't exactly above board. But Lizzie understands the difference between Brochan being labeled "bad" versus his career being "bad", and she doesn't judge him on it.

There are a few secondary characters that each bring something to story, some positive and some negative. I was surprised by how an encounter between two characters played out. As engaged I was with this story, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and when it did? Talk about reverberations! What's done in the dark will always come to light and the secrets that were revealed weren't what I was expecting, and those twists enhanced the story that much more for me.

I loved the epilogue, both what happened shortly after the events at the end of the story, and the glimpse of life 5 years later. Although I just might have to agree with Brochan's thoughts in regards to Aunt Brianna!

Lizzie and Brochan have a lot in common in the childhood department, but they don’t know each other (yet) and live in different countries.

Lizzie’s mother is some kind of monster.
Brochan’s father too.

Now Lizzie is an artist in New York, while Brochan lives a lonely life in a big castle in Scotland, between his very peculiar “missions”.

Fate is about to reunite them in his country, in a town surrounded by legends… and gossips…
Brochan has quite the bad reputation, some may say he’s a kind of wolf, a monster…
But Llizzie knows a thing or two about real monsters; besides, she also likes to make her own opinion about people too…
And she can’t help but feel intrigued by this cold man…

SAVAGE is my third book from L.A. Fiore.
Devil You Know and Elusive had already proven she is an amazing author, and this book was absolutely delicious and additive!

Exactly: delicious and addictive.

A captivating plot, strong and deep characters, a country full of mysteries and legends. So many secrets, and as always with L.A. Fiore’s books: love and compassion, despite all the cruelty and ugliness.

Lizzie and Brochan were both unwanted children.
Lizzie was a way to get what her mother wanted from her biological father, and Brochan’s father saw his son as the killer of his wife.
Both suffered from the cruelty of the person who was supposed to love and protect them the most.
And each one dealt with this in a very different way.

I just loved the way they were built for each other, the heroine is fragile in some ways but also so strong, so honest with her feelings and so loyal
And Brochan is the perfect tormented hero, with, of course, all this alpha attitude, especially towards Lizzie.

In this book you will find so many disarming lines and dialogues. Really, it’s delicious to read.
Touching characters (main and supporting ones), a broken hero, a brave heroine, sizzling chemistry, heartbreaking moments, perfect love scenes, without NEVER falling into clichés.
The writing is always perfect.
And when you see yourself struggling when it’s time to close the book and leave the characters, it means the author did and amazing job.

So Savage was my third L.A. Fiore’s book, and I can’t wait for her next work.

If you have read this author then you know this is a bit different for her. She takes you back in time with the classic fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast and turns it into a modern day romance. She makes you feel like you have traveled to Scotland and her descriptions are absolutely breathtaking.

Brochan and Lizzie both come from a life that wasn’t kind to them at a young age. Both are fighting their past. Brochan's demons are darker, and he believes he’s not worthy, and stays in the hills of Scotland. Lizzie comes to Scotland after inheriting a cottage from family she had no idea she had. Their journey is so intense, and dark, with a plot twist that I never saw coming. Brochan and Lizzie have some similarities but both work through them differently. Lizzie is the light to Brochan's darkness. Lost souls finding their HEA. It’s a beautifully written story.

There were some parts that went slower than I would have liked, but once it picks up, you realize why it was going in this direction. I enjoyed all the secondary characters as well.  They were written in so well.  It made you feel like you were there. Brochan and Lizzie were characters that needed an HEA. Once this beautiful story was over I was upset.  I wanted more of their future.

Two unwanted children who become two lost and lonely adults

Two kindred souls who endured hellish situations and dealt with their circumstances in completely opposite ways.

A man who feels nothing…a woman who feels too much.

A man whose life choices continues the cycle of hate that began when he was born.

A woman who chooses to channel her pain and torment into hauntingly beautiful works of art, finding beauty in even the ugliest things.

A woman’s unknown family member who serves as the man’s conscience provides an opportunity for the man and woman to meet and find a way to be each other’s voice in the darkness, working to bring them into the light and awaken the man and woman beneath the broken and bent surface.

I can’t even begin to explain just how epic Brochan and Lizzie’s story is! Not only does L.A. Foire create two amazingly dynamic characters who continually change throughout the course of their story, but the setting itself, especially Scotland, serves as an important supporting character - one that allows both its majestic scenery as well as its darkened and dense terrain to serve as a healing agent and an obstacle to overcome.

The secondary title of L.A. Fiore’s latest release, ‘The Awakening of Lizzie Danton,’ allows readers to clearly understand which character will transform due to the events of the story, and while Lizzie most definitely changes because of the new opportunities she receives from a long-lost family member, her courage, passion, and perspective on life actually awakens Brochan’s suppressed emotions and allows him a way to stop the cyclical nature of his rage and an opportunity to find happiness amidst the ugly parts of his past and his present.

Savage is an epic love story…a dark and twisted fairy tale where the hero is perceived to be a damaged monster…an unfeeling killer…a dangerous supernatural being hellbent on destroying everyone and everything in his path, and while Brochan, in some ways, exhibits all of those attributes, there’s more to him than that and it’s Lizzie’s endless ability to find joy and happiness despite all that she’s endured that allows Brochan to see his current situation for what it is - an opportunity to fight against life’s ugliness and make a life in the light instead of in the darkness that has always seemed to shadow his life.

L.A. Fiore is a phenomenal storyteller - one who seems to understand the human heart and its many facets and delivers a story that readers can’t help but feel emotionally invested in because the characters, both main and supporting, as well as the content of the storyline itself are beyond captivating and meaningful, making each and every book Fiore crafts, must-read!
