I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Like most midwesterners (I suspect), I respect tornadoes. They are terrifying and fascinating all at once. I wouldn't consider myself a weather geek, but this book was a great peek inside tornado research and storm chasing.

"The Man Who Caught the Storm" tells the compelling story of Tim Samaras, a high school graduate with a knack for reading storms and an never-ending passion/obsession for wanting to understand what happens inside a tornado. Competing with academic researchers, he engineered his own measurement tools and managed to get closer than anyone ever dared. This book captures all the triumph and tragedy of this remarkable man.

Foolish, adventurous, I am not sure what you will call Tim Samaras but you will call him something after you read about his life and ultimate tornado chase in El Reno, OK. I have been in three tornados and I would NEVER chase one. This is a great, sad story that many will enjoy
