This was a great addition to the Body Armor series. I really loved seeing our brave, strong, determined owner get her time in the sun and Brand is Sahara's perfect match. As strong and determined (especially when it comes to winning our girls heart) as her but less burdened by the demands of running a business and of trying to be what he believes people expect of him.

There was quite a bit of angst in this read, which isn't one of my favorite tropes in a book...just makes my own heart hurt, ha, but it was clear that in the end these two would come through their trials stronger than ever.

I loved the side story going on here and the possibility of future books to come out of it. I really want a certain someone's story after these four books and can't wait to see what Lori has in store for him.

As with her other books, Lori's writing and pacing in Fast Burn is exactly what I wanted. Everything was well planned and written and the pacing keeps you on your toes, no pissing plot lines suddenly from needing to wrap things up and no drag that makes you put the book down and just walk away. It was also great getting to play catch up with some of our favorite coupes from the series, you become attached to these characters and seeing that their life is playing out the way we imagine is the best part of a book series in my opinion.

Here's to another book in the series or maybe another spin-off and I can't wait.

I hate to see this series end but it was such a fantastic ending. ALL my questions were answered. Sahara is running the body guard agency until her brother returns. She is probably the only one that believes he is still alive. Brand is a MMA fighter but Sahara wants him as a body guard. She just might get him. IS her brother alive. Read it and fine out.

Thank you netgalley and harlequin for allowing me to read this title for an honest review.

I've loved this series and have been waiting for Sahara to get her story and while it didn't hit it out of the park for me it was still an addicting read.

The main reason it's not a 5 star for me was that in all the previous books Sahara was a total kick ass character. She's strong, she's smart, she knows how to manage all these alpha male former MMA fighters and does it all while maintaining the respect of her entire team. In this one I felt she lost a little of that in control, cool thinking woman who's ready for just about everything. Yes, she does make a pretty nifty make shift weapon when she gets kidnapped at one point but then at other times she makes what's obviously bad choices despite the rest of her guys pointing out their bad choices. Granted she's much more emotional in this book because her brother is involved but I felt she tipped a bit too far to the little lady that doesn't think clearly and needs to be rescued from her own bad decisions by Brand. This wouldn't have bothered me so much if we didn't see through out the entire series just how capable she is and how she is able to think through most issues and make the smart, rational choices. Still giving her slack because of her emotional involvement with the hints of what happened to her brother I'd give this book a solid 4 stars.

I loved Brand and seeing the sparks fly between he and Sahara was great. While we saw some of her not so smart decision making in parts of the book we also get to see some of her softer sides when she interacts with his aunt and uncle as well as the wives of the rest of the former MMA fighters. Not to mention I also loved seeing the other guys and where they are at in their relationships with their wives/girlfriends.

The story line itself was pretty predictable but still really engaging. I read it in pretty much one sitting and can't wait for more from Lori Foster. She is an amazing author and is an auto-buy for me for sure!

Such a lovely story!I enjoyed it a lot, it was romantic it has suspense and a touch of mystery. All this together with great characters made a beautiful story! Sahara and Brand were a good match, even though she drove him crazy with her need to do things on her own!I loved that he admired her! These were two stubborn alpha people and so it was interesting watching them figure out how to be together and make their life work.Overall, it was a great story and probably my favorite in this series!

Fast Burn

Body Armor Series - Book 4

By Lori Foster

HQN - March 2018

Contemporary Romance

Fast Burn is the fourth story in Lori Foster's Body Armor series. This new series follows Ms Foster's Ultimate series and is tied to additional ones. If you want to read everything in order, start with her SBC series, then read the following, Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series, Love Undercover series, the short story Hard Knocks which is the prequel to the Ultimate series. Then comes the new Body Armor series.

Sahara Silver knew what she wanted. She knew what she believed. She wanted Brand Berry, both for herself, and as another bodyguard in the company she had inherited from her brother. She believed that her brother wasn't dead. She didn't have any particular evidence other than the fact that they had never found his body, but she just never felt that he was dead. She was less confident when it came to Brand. He seemed attracted to her, but he kept telling her no when she asked him to come work for her. He was perfect for being a bodyguard. An MMA fighter, just like the other men she had hired. Capable, strong, sexy. Perfect for the high profile cases she assigned them to.

Brand's reticence to join her team became a secondary issue when she was kidnapped. The men who took her seemed to also believe that her brother was still alive. Whether she believed anything a kidnapper said was debatable, but someone had definitely attacked her brother, and now she was a target. And Brand was stepping up to be her defender, and more.

In Fast Burn readers finally see Sahara and Brand navigate threats and other obstacles to be together. I enjoyed the romance between Sahara and Brand and the revelations that had been hinted at in previous stories. The only issue is that some readers might not appreciate Sahara's attitude to her brother's employees and how she only assigned her good looking MMA ex-fighters to high profile cases where they could be showcased. Body Armor has been an enjoyable series, and I am sorry to see it end.

I'm always sorry to know that a series is ending, especially one of Lori Foster's. I felt that way when the Ultimate series ended, but the Body Armor series softened the blow a little since there was a connection between the two. I suppose if the series had to come to an end, Brand and Sahara's story was the perfect way to wrap things up.

Both Brand and Sahara have been around for a while. Sahara has been front and center since she ran the Body Armor company. Brand's been the one man she's wanted to bring in for a while, but he's always balked. Even though she knows his reasons, she still wants him on her team and in her life. When Sahara becomes a target, Brand won't leave her side whether he's an official body guard or not.

There's plenty of danger, mystery, heat, intrigue and that family connection that I've come to not only expect, but look forward to from this author in Fast Burn. Honestly, both Sahara and Brand took me by surprise. I didn't expect to feel as connected to these two as I did. It's not that I didn't like Sahara, but she was the boss, so it was hard to really get to know her. It was obvious that she cared about all the guys she employed, as well as their families, but she was so strong and independent, it was hard to feel a closeness to her. Her personality really came through in Fast Burn. Brand's character was the same, but readers knew even less about him until this book. I ended up falling in love with them both.

So, yeah... I'm sorry that the Body Armor series has come to an end, but I'm sure whatever Lori Foster has in store for readers next will be worth it. There's at least one character from Fast Burn that I hope gets a chance to redeem himself, but only time will tell. ;)

The fourth installment of the Body Armor series by Lori Foster brings the series to an intense, explosive conclusion, where the bossy, sassy, always very opinionated Sahara Silver finally gets the limelight.
Her ardent attraction towards Brand Berry has come through loud and clear in the previous books of the series, yet this title is easy to be read as a stand-alone novel - even though reading the books in order will bring you fast-paced entertainment and more enjoyment and knowledge of all the characters in the series.
Lori Foster really knows how to write smoothly flowing tales of love and life with deep emotions and the hottest sex scenes. That is something I have learned to expect from her, and she delivers as Fast Burn does not disappoint on those accounts either.
I loved how detailed Brand and his background was drawn with. The turmoil and drama with his biological mother, and the loving support his mom and dad showed to him, and to Sahara, brought another level of warm feels to the story.
Brand is the perfect hero, he is kind, loyal, considerate, strong, smart, confident man who can show both tenderness and deadly force within few minutes. His tolerance to Sahara's bossy and embracive behavior just made me like him more.
Sahara was a bit too much for me at times. Yes, she knows what she wants, she is not afraid of anything, especially going for what her heart desire, but sometimes that fearlessness comes out as foolishness, getting her trouble by running her mouth or acting out. Her loyalty to her brother was endearing, but Scott himself, not so much.
The story was well balanced between the tense suspense and passion filled romance between Brand and Sahara. The fact that the leader of the bad guys developed feelings towards Sahara gave me the creeps, but I believe that was meant to be so, as Brand has pretty much the same reaction, as well.
Sahara is a strong woman, she is loud, she is on your face, going after Brand from the first moment she met him. But as a bodyguard to work for him, not nessaserely as a boyfriend. The whole conflict of interest that Brand felt with the career proposal was the stumbling block in their relationship, and I felt that maybe there wasn't enough of a solution on that matter, even though the conclusion of the tale was well hashed out.
Action and suspense, romance and passion, laughter and deep emotions, sighs and swoons - the story delivers it all. It kept my interest keen, it is sharp, fierce, sweet, and bold. The whole series has been a pleasant reading experience to me, and I can't wait to see what's next from in line from this amazing author who never fails to entertain my mind

The title says it all. Brand and Sahara are combustible! Before these two even touch each other, there is enough heat between the two to give you a suntan! Who in their right mind doesn't want that? (Raises hand for third helping, please)

Sahara has taken over her brother's business and turned it into the hottest, sought after bodyguard business out there. One of the few who still believes her brother is alive, she seeks his whereabouts by any means and usually thoughts of her own wants take a back seat. But she wants Brand...for Body Armor. But Brand? Brand wants a beautiful CEO who's name just happens to begin with an S.

I really love how Foster developed these two characters. Sahara is one of the strongest women characters I've read in a long time. She is tough as nails, smart as a whip and savvy as a shark. When these two alpha's come together not only do they fight like cats and dogs, but sparks fly igniting passion too. Definitely worth the read and if you haven't read the entire series, now is the time to start.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and InkslingerPR for an honest review.

I don’t know why this keeps happening to me, especially given the number of books I read, but I am once again late to the party. I suspect that I may have missed out.

But let me deal with the one book in the series that I have read.

Brand and Sahara. Hmm. Well, she is confident almost to the point of being unlikeable. You note that I say almost. Because the author keeps her on the right side of that line by giving insights into her psyche.

Same with Brand. The dual POV approach to the storytelling works well to soften their edges and make the story work.

Good chemistry, a decent plot, a cogent threat and pacing that ensures that the story never bogs down. Well worth a read.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Even though this is book four in the series, I haven’t read any of the others and was able to follow along with the storyline without having read the others.

This book is about Saraha who inherited the Body Armor, an elite bodyguard service, from her brother who is missing and presumed dead. But Saraha thinks that he could still be alive. She has her sites on Brand Berry to add to her agency but Brand doesn’t like to mix business with pleasure and he is all about seducing Saraha instead of working for her.

I loved Saraha. She knows what she wants and she a take no prisoner type of gal.

I really liked the characters, enough that I will be adding the other books in the series to my TBR.

Ahh, the finale to the Body Armor series! I've been looking forward to this story since we got to meet the ever kick-ass Sahara Silver, boss of Body Armor.  She very easily stole the limelight in the previous books with her sass and confident attitude and I think she even jumps up a couple notches on the badass list in this book. Don't believe me? How's this:

"For a moment her body pressed to his, the soft swells of her breasts reminding him that she'd removed her bra.
To make a handle.
For a shiv."

It was kind of a life-or-death moment, so you go girl.

Brand was a nice match for Sahara. He wasn't easily bossed around and was stubborn enough to match her stubbornness. There was some teasing of the potential spark in the previous book as Sahara tried to recruit Brand (also MMA fighter) to work for Body Armor. In this book, it was an wildfire of chemistry.

In the vein of the series, this book is a romance wrapped up in some good ol' suspense and drama. We finally get to delve into her brother Scott's mysterious disappearance/death. And that comes with some kidnappers, baggage and big revelations!

Overall, a nice conclusion to the series. I'm a little sad to see it end since I really liked the Body Armor boys and girls. I loved that they often showed up throughout the series and was such an awesome group of friends. And I loved that Sahara got to be a part of this group. This is definitely worth checking out if you're a Lori Foster fan.

Sahara Silver is a woman on a mission. Now if she can just get one sexy fighter to work for her and fill her bed. Sahara is convinced brother is alive she is determined to find him and prove to him she can run Body Armor. Being kidnapped because her brother didn’t pay for services rendered things are starting to get interesting? Brand is determined to keep Sahara safe and Sahara is determined to get to the bottom of her brother’s disappearance. Now can these two figure out they are perfect for each other.

I have so enjoyed this series and will miss these character.

This is the story of Sahara who has taken over the the Body Armor Bodyguard Agency after her brother disappeared and is now presumed dead.
Sahara has been employing MMA fighters as her Body Armour team but there is one that seems to be resisting, Brand only one problem, he would rather date her and more than be her employee, but when Sahara is kidnapped and it seems that it may have something to do with her brother Scott, Brand and the team go all out to find and protect her.
This was a great story, with lots of twists and suspense happening and the chemistry between Brand and Sahara is scorching .
Look forward to the next instalment in the “Body Armor” series by Lori Foster.

There are some authors, no matter how long it has been since I read their books I just know that I will enjoy the anticipation of getting my hands on their next book. Lori Foster is one of those authors for me, and while it hasn’t been that long ago that I read one of her books, I was really excited to start Fast Burn. Ms. Foster just has this way with the words that she writes that just draws you into the storyline and doesn’t want to let you go. If you haven’t read the previous books don’t worry, you can read this one without having done so but you may enjoy it even more if you had.

Brand and Sahara, okay I need to say that I love their names, they are different and I loved that. But okay, getting back on track here. Brand and Sahara will not disappoint you at all. The chemistry between them grows, add in some suspense filled moments and you can’t help but keep reading to see what will happen between these two. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I really didn’t want to put my kindle down while reading this one.

Fast Burn is another wonderfully sexy and enjoyable read from Lori Foster and one that should be on your TBR lists for sure.

I've read all the books in this series, and I couldn't wait to get Sahara's story. In my opinion this was the best cover of the series and possibly the best book. I loved the easy Brand and Sahara interacted with each other, how he adored her strength and how she found her own need to lean on him. The sexy scenes were hot, and there was plenty of action and suspense to keep me pulled in. I also enjoyed catching up with my favorite characters from the series and the little epilogue which tied a neat little bow on this series which I hate to see end. I wouldn't mind a few more hot sexy alpha male fighters with a protective streak.

I happily requested and received an ARC from Net Galley.

From the first time Sahara Silver met Brand Berry she has felt some serious chemistry. Brand has felt the same, she feels the best way to get to him is hiring him to help her. He refuses to take on her job because he wants more from her. All of this is forgotten the minute Sahara is kidnapped, he immediately steps up to the plate to save her.

I have read a few of Ms Fosters books and truly I feel like I need to go back and read all of them. She has serious talent in the telling of a romantic/suspense novel. Her men are exactly what I want, strong, loyal, loving, protective alpha males and the women are smart, strong, independent spitfires.

I already purchased the previous books in this series and highly recommend. 4.5 Stars.

As the driving force behind Body Armor, Sahara has intrigued me from the very first book in this series! She is smart, beautiful, and driven, and she lives for her job. From the day she met Brand, she has been doggedly pursuing him to either join her as an employee or in her bed; she just can't decide which one she wants more. Sahara is not a woman who is used to being told no, but Brand seems to the one man she cannot sway with sex appeal and a great sales pitch.

Brand is definitely interested in Sahara, but he absolutely cannot see himself working for her. He knows she is married to the job which is problem number one for him. Add in that she is altogether too bossy and pushy when he is a man who enjoys being in charge himself, and he could easily see them butting heads constantly. Of course, that could be a little bit fun too but he has bigger problems to deal with at the moment. His birth mother's medical issues and constant demands take a lot of his time, and he has a looming decision to make about his career too. All that gets put on hold when Sahara is kidnapped by men who think she knows where her presumed- dead brother Scott may be hiding.

Despite his best intentions, Brand is pulled into the Body Armor world as he is determined to protect Sahara from danger and her own sometimes reckless decisions. She is a very capable woman who knows what she wants, but Brand is also an alpha protector to the core so they definitely clash quite a few times! The tension between them continues to build, and Brand soon finds out there is more to this intriguing woman than a spoiled wealthy girl who was handed a company on a silver platter. She doesn't show vulnerability to anyone, but Brand and his friends have a way of breaking down her walls.

The story is fast-paced and action-packed as the whole team races to try to find out who is behind the kidnapping attempts and whether Scott is truly still alive. The author doesn't skimp on the steam either once Sahara and Brand finally get on the same page! They have a bit of a bumpy road trying to come to an agreement that works for two strong, dominant personalities, but they find a way to make it work. I definitely enjoyed Fast Burn, and it's a wonderful addition to a great series!

Fast Burn is the fourth title in the Body Armour series. As I’ve read the previous three titles I’ve been eagerly awaiting Sahara Silver’s story since she was first introduced.

Sahara and Brand have an intense chemistry that was prevalent in the previous title and continues to burn and build over the course of the story line.

As I’ve come to expect from Ms Foster, these pair had a path full of complications, intrigue, mystery and danger, before they can find a happy ever after. Their interactions and banter is witty, flirtatious and argumentative, full of heat and passion. Brand and Sahara are quite similar in personality, being strong willed and like to be in charge.

Sahara is no wilting wall flower, she’s strong, fierce, bossy and is incredibly independent.

Brand is an MMA fighter, he epitomises all things alpha, and is incredibly protective, caring and strong.

Anyone familiar with this series will be aware of the mystery regarding Scott Silver and his disappearance, and you will finally get some closure with this title.

Overall this title is well paced, with sexual tension that oozes from the page. I quite enjoyed the conclusion to this series, and look forward to seeing what Ms Foster comes up with next.

Fast Burn is the fourth and final book in the Body Armor series and it is going out with a bang as readers finally get Sahara and Brand’s story. Sahara is running her brother’s security agency, comprised of former MMA fighters, as he has mysteriously disappeared. She is a determined, take charge woman who does not take no for an answer. She has been pursuing Brand to come on board as one of her security guards but he always refuses. He is not sure he wants to leave his MMA career. Whenever they are around one another, the chemistry between the two is palpable. However, Brand is not convinced that Sahara wants him for himself or as just another male for the agency and the last thing he wants is to get involved with his boss. When Sahara is kidnapped, all bets are off as Brand is the first one to go after her and stake his claim. He will do everything in his power to protect her. When they are forced to stay together, they finally have the chance to own up to their feelings. Will they? Can they work together to figure out the mystery of what happened to Sahara’s brother? This is one highly engaging read with twists, turns and dynamic characters. This book is one to keep on your shelf and you will be prone to re-read it.
I volunteered to read an arc provided by Netgalley.

Really?! First, let me say I was a little biased when I started this series. My first romantic series was Lori Foster's Buckhorn series and it became the gold standard that I judged all my other books read by, I mean I re-read them so many times I could almost recite certain parts if not most of some. I've collected and read many different authors and if they aren't writing in the genre I'm used to or prefer sometimes it makes it harder for me to enjoy them.
I can honestly say that Lori Foster's not one of them. I LOVE all of her books and how you feel like you know the characters and through other books are introduced to more great stories to come. I'm sorry that the Body Armor series is ending, but am more than confident that Lori will. have an equally great series for us all to enjoy soon! Brand and Sahara's story was a great ending and of course a wonderful love story.
Thanks for all of the amazing stories and I feel so lucky to have been able to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
