I have not read the first two books in this series but that did not matter. The Bad Girl and the Baby had no problem as a stand-alone. I loved Darcy Butler. She knew who and what she was and understood that people had a very different picture because of the three years she spent in prison. Her one regret - that prison time is keeping her from seeing her niece LuLu. Captain Matt Peterson is raising his and her niece and is determined to keep Darcy away. I liked how Matt slowly came to terms with what happened LuLu's parents and to accept that Darcy was very different from the picture he was carrying around. There is a great mix of family drama and romance that kept me reading. A interesting twist as usually it is the male who has the bad person role. It was fun seeing the switch with a bad girl and not a bad boy.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Darcy a female MMA fighter meets Matt an ex SAS soldier when she gets out of prison and goes looking for the 2 year old niece he has custody of since the death of her sister and his brother. Darcy was unfairly sent to prison for defending her pregnant sister from abuse from the brother. Darcy & Matt were attracted to each other from the start but neither wants a committed relationship. Will they be able to get past their differences to find their HEA with each other and the baby they both love? A sexy well written romance that will pull at your heart strings.

This is the second excellent book I have read in the "Cutting Loose" series. I look forward to to reading the one I have not read yet.

I found the chemistry between Matt and Darcy had chemistry off the charts but I didn't get the love connection from these two.

I had a few issues with the overall storyline.. I know Darcy goes to jail but I wasn't sure if she was set up or had a crappy lawyer. Plus, in in jail for 3 years but still retained a small fortune and was able to buy a million dollar building.
I liked Matt but he was a little gullible and not very bright despite him being SAS . He should have been able to see his brother for the abuser that he was.
Matt's raising his niece but apparently she's Hell on wheels. I can't believe that a little girl is so horrible that she runs off nannies and babysitters alike. I also didn't get any parental feelings from him. She was more of a burden than gift.
The ending didn't work for me either. I had a hard time with his family and them not realizing what was going on .

Nina crofts latest installment to her Cutting Loose series and upcoming release The Bad Girl And The Baby did not disappoint.

I do love me a fiesty heroine and Darcy Butler was that in spades. She most definitely was a force to be reckoned with and has proved she's willing to do what it takes to protect those she loves. I really enjoyed her as a character! on the outside hard and cool but inside a sweet hardheaded lovable rogue who doesn't play by the rules. she was a complex characters with a ton of layers to her personality. she just kept surprising me through the the story as little bits of her were revealed.

Captain Matt Peterson was a character that I had to grow to like. he's a man who likes control and structure. his world is made in order so when he suddenly finds himself appointed guardian of his little niece it's safe to say his world goes to complete shit. I found that his judgement and general stuck up opinion had me fighting my connection to him. he's an alpha to boot but he didn't half stick his foot in his mouth on more than a few occasions making me want to junk punch the stupid out of him. I felt for him though and in all fairness he's a typical guy underneath all that asshole who just had a serious life change with zero time to come to terms with it.

Their relationship was turbulent at best but always held that red hot instant connection that set fire to the pages. They are complete opposite in personality one being the rogue and the other the rule follower so it's safe to say that they clashed on more than one occasion. they both had grudges they held and were most definitely not on the same page with all the facts. it was a rollercoaster of a journey for them both. They both has to learn to listen and play nice at the same time as control their ever growing attraction to eachother while maintaining a positive relationship for the sake of their niece.

I laughed, got sad, became angry and wanted to ring both of their necks. it was a freaking journey and neither one of them made it an easy ride. I enjoyed the hell out of them though.
Great character growth between both hero and heroine. Great chemistry and a believable connection. Good side characters and a plot that sucks you in for the word go...
This story has a little of everything to keep you going.

Nina Croft is back to wrap up her Cutting Loose series and its FINALLY Darcy’s turn to find the happiness she deserves. Even if it is with the last man she ever thought she would fall for.

This book is hands down my favourite of the trilogy. I somehow knew that Darcy’s story was going to be the one that tugged at my heart the most and I was right and it all has to do with an adorable little monster, ah I mean toddler called Lulu and the way that she brings Darcy and her hot hero Matt together in a way that was equal parts sweet, fun, hot and perfect HEA material.

I mean what do you expect when you throw an ex-con with an uptight military man, mix in a child and many, many lies from the past and you get the type of story that will keep you glued to the pages and reaching for a cool drink.

One of my favourite things about this book was that no matter what, both Darcy and Matt always put Lulu first and that made my heart happy. It didn’t matter about the scorching hot sexual tension or the frustration of both their sides, Lulu was most important.

I adored seeing both Matt and Darcy fall not only for Lulu but for each other no matter how much they fought it. Let’s not forget that with the help of some true friends these two see how perfect they really are for each other despite giving the motto opposites attract new meaning.

For fans of the series, we get our HEA with Summer and Regan too, for that I am grateful. This is a series that caught me by surprise and showed me that it’s not always the guys who are bad. Sometimes girls can be just as bad and still find their happy ever after.

we finally get the last book in the Cutting Loose series. All are standalone but secondary characters are from previous books. This book is about the bad girl of the girls, Darcy, who is trying to contact her BILs brother to see her niece, the only living family she has left. Matt has heard terrible things about Darcy from his brother before he died and doesn't want her anywhere near their niece that he's raising. An agreement is reached and Darcy starts spending time with her niece as well as Matt. When they realize the attraction to each other, they decide on a fling, to get each other out of their systems. yeah..right...we know how THAT goes. Another amazing read by Nina Croft!

Wow, what a great read! The romance was hot, and best of all, realistic. I definitely recommend this for anyone who loves a good modern day romance novel.

Just released from Prison, Darcy Butler has one goal in mind; to seek out her niece Lulu to insure she is well taken care of and happy. Railroaded and incarcerated for three years for trying to protect her sister from an abusive husband has left her broken. Guilt shadows every day for her because while she was away her sister was killed while a passenger in a car driven by her drunk husband Stephen. Although Lulu lost both of her parents she has adjusted to a life with her uncle Captain Matt Peterson. Croft has created strong characters in Matt and Darcy along with a unique and different romantic plot. Enjoyed this author's skill. OOOH I love me a kick ass girl! Add the fact that she is MMA fighter and went to prison for breaking an abusive arsehole's arm...Yeah I'm girl crushing!

Nina Croft has created a pair of characters where opposites attract and watching them develop and see how they make a relationship out of it was great. I loved that they both focused on Lulu and that she was a central part of what was important. The fact that she was a terror in her toddler years makes it better.

I really liked that Darcy was as strong as she was, and that Matt liked that about her. Matt himself was no slouch. I liked that he was organized he didn't make it a priority in his relationship with Darcy. He was accepting of her even though they differed on things. He was alpha enough to hold his own with her but soft enough to welcome her. I enjoyed seeing a character with that sort of depth.

There was good depth to the story as well. Watching their lives mesh and watch them work out their differences was engaging. I will continue to look for this author.

Darcy is right at the beginning, Matt is stuffy and boring. He also doesn’t know the 1st thing about caring for a toddler. You don’t leave your baby with a stranger without getting their name 1st and background check or references no matter how late you are.
I’m not a fan of the insta-love attraction thing either. It was a good read. Darcy was strong women trying to reconnect with her niece after being in prison and I liked her but I found Matt and his lawyer really annoying. I just didn’t like that he made assumptions about Darcy without knowing her and he also didn’t know the details about how his brother died.
I the end though the story did come together and they settled their differences.

Loved this book! This is a fast paced contemporary romance that kept me turning pages just as quickly as possible. Darcy is the bad girl who just got out of prison and Matt is the good boy soldier who got custody of their shared niece after her parents died and while Darcy was in prison. Matt believes Darcy is nothing but trouble and is committed to keeping her away from his niece. Unfortunately, while his facts might be technically accurate, he's gotten it completely wrong...

This is a must read for fans of the genre. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however its so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. Put this one at the top of your list, you'll be glad you did.

The Bad Girl and The Baby is an absolute page turner, and a wonderful edition to the Cutting Loose series. I have thoroughly enjoyed every story of these strong women and their battle to overcome stereotypes and adversity.

Matt and Darcy are great characters, even though Matt gave me a few OMG moments and I worried that he would ruin something amazing with his disconnected and blasé attitude. This is another entertaining read from Ms Croft and definitely worth every minute of angst.

Matt is just so nonchalant about things, "he shrugged. “I haven’t had *** in nearly two. I’m quite desperate myself. We can be desperate together.” Matt leaves no room for questioning, “Sunday lunch, tomorrow, here with my parents,” he’d said and disappeared back into the house before she could say yes, no, or what the h* **?" I liked this book, Matr had a stick up his butt and Darcy was just the girl to remove it.

I really enjoyed this series and the journey that these strong women made after getting out of prison. Although Matt had me worried there for a minute, I was afraid that he was going to screw it up. Talk about a page turner.
