I read this to my 6 year old as she likes to help me review picture books. She thought this one was great and deserved 5 stars. I really don't want to say too much about this book because the fun is in the little surprises as circumstances change for Petra. Illustrations are great, it's a nicely paced picture book that isn't too wordy. It's got enough cute and silly to make it a fun read.

Petra would be a great companion book to "Not A Stick" and "Not a Box" or "A Stick Until." It goes through the story of what a rock thinks he should or should not be. It can inspire some amazing thinking around rocks and I would love to see a child's response to the story and a pile of rocks. I love books that inspire thinking and this one certainly does just that!

Petra was such a cute character. I love how it transformed into so many different things. This would be a great book to teach kids, especially younger kids, about imagination. Petra was such a creative story and it was easy to follow and had great pictures.

Meet Petra. Petra's imagination is as big as the sky. Join her on her journey through everything that she inspires to be...
A very timely story and a timely theme, with the recent return of the popularity of rock painting.
The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is short and sweet.

I kept thinking that there was more to the book. I enjoyed everything except the ending.
