Anne's Numbers, by Kelly Hill is a sweet children's book, and it's part of a series of concept books.

Within twenty-two pages, this book provides a fun way for little children to learn numbers, and it features delightful hand-embroidered illustrations. This board book was inspired by the classic Anne of Green Gables.

Anne's Numbers is geared toward preschoolers and kindergartners, yet a variety of ages will enjoy this book.

I LOVE this book. The hand embroidered details and simple pictures reminiscent of the original Anne books are great. This would make a great gift for a new baby or small child to work on numbers.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favourite characters ever! This is a lovely baby board book based on Anne. I loved the mixed media art, it looks like a scrapbook.

"Anne's Numbers" is an adorable book starring Anne Shirley as she counts her way through Green Gables. This simple counting book is great for young children just learning to count. The classic feel of the illustrations really bring in the nostalgia of the original Anne of Green Gables stories. This book really brings the whimsy of Anne herself to life!
This wonderful book would be a great addition to any young child's library!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

The characters are based on Anne of Green Gables. The illustrations were pretty and bright. The text was simple. Great for babies just starting to sit through storytime.

Anne of Green Gables (the character and the book) and creator/author Lucy Maud Montgomery seem to be everywhere lately - two recent small screen adaptations, a Heritage Minute in Canada, new biographies and scholarly books, etc.

Apart from its place in the Anne industry, "Anne's Numbers" is one example of the trend in books where writers and publishers are taking beloved classics and putting a spin on them for early readers - which is really meant to appeal to the adults who buy the books for the children (or who will buy children's books for themselves or other grown folk as an act of fandom). Quite a clever marketing angle, really!

Small children to whom this book is read will probably not care a whit about the fact that it features beloved Anne with an e. But they might appreciate the bright colours and the illusion of texture created in Kelly Hill's cute textile illustrations, which give this board book and its series companion "Anne's Colors" real charm. Hill's blend of fabric, thread and yarn in the illustrations is quite lovely.

I read advance review digital copies of #AnnesNumbers and #AnnesColors from the publisher Tundra Books/Penguin Random House Canada via #NetGalley.

This was so cute. I read it with my 18 month old, who loves books, and he seemed really into it. I would definitely purchase this in its finished form.

This cute book is a nice introduction to numbers for little ones. It is full of colors and has nice pictures. We wanted more, but enjoy more time with Anne thought it is basically numbers as the focus.

Beautiful illustrations. It’s a great primer to add to any collection. The subtle inclusion of the original series allows parent to reminisce about their own childhood.

I adore the art style, but I think there is too much going on on each page for this to be an effective tool for teaching numbers and counting to little ones. I do think this could be a fun book for older siblings who know how to count to look at with younger siblings.

Very pretty water-color illustrations of numbers 1 through 10 that are more likely to appeal to the mothers who adored Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables than their tots.

Really cute fabric crafted illustrations, a great first numbers book you can read with your child to learn numbers. Words are very simple “two butterflies” and “three stepping stones”, so really a book of numbers - don’t expect a story! So cute.

I love the concept of this book because it is both simple yet foundational for Canadian children to be immersed in Canadian culture, even from a young age. Anne's Numbers provides Canadian children with a beautiful way to learn their numbers alongside our beloved Anne of Green Gables! The illustrations throughout Anne's Numbers are simply beautiful, providing a lush backdrop for the reader to interact with the world of Green Gables and be introduced to Anne and her friends. This book receives five stars from me because the concept is impeccable and the illustrations are well executed, even on the digital ARC that I received. Well done, Kelly Hill!
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review.

A counting book to share the love of Anne of Green Gables with even the youngest reader. All the illustrations are sewn, and it makes for a lovely book.

I love Anne of Green Gables and I love how the author once again used the backdrop if the story to teach numbers. Each page had a number and an item from nature that would have been seen at a picnic by the lake. The book culminated in the picnic scene from the Anne of Green Gables story. The illustrations, done in thread, material and wool gave this book an added interest for young children who love anything tactile. A wonderful idea for a board book for toddlers to teach numbers as well as introduce them to a classic story. Another win for Kelly Hill.

This is a beautiful book for babies and toddlers and perfect for introducing numbers. Straight-forward presentation is part of the appeal, but I really enjoyed the use of fabric and needle art to design the illustrations.
