Jennifer Dixon is a good writer who has lived quite an unusual, eventful and well-traveled life. I very much enjoyed the book. I also appreciated the consistent side-score of music listings. It is always moving to read of the various griefs one has had in life. It is also tremendously moving to witness the terrible pain of growing up with an abusive parent and the slow, small steps of recovery from that (that is, if recovery is even fully possible). This is a well-written, inspiring book. I recommend it.

Thank you to Net galley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
