The Blurb :
This year we’re just going to have a nice, normal Christmas…
Last year’s Christmas at Wrea Head Hall didn’t quite go to plan which is why Jess Croft is determined this festive season will be the one to remember, for the right reasons. And she has plenty of reasons to be hopeful, she’s going to marry the man of her dreams, Jack Stone, seven days after New Year’s Eve.
However, as family secrets are revealed in hidden letters and two unexpected guests turn up on the doorstep, Jess is left wondering whether her life will ever be the same again.
Can Jess and Jack still experience a peaceful festive season that they had imagined or are there some problems that even Christmas can’t fix?

My Thoughts :
I absolutely loved House of Secrets. So when I saw that there was a follow up book called House of Christmas Secrets I couldnt wait to get started. As I said in my review for the first book, I couldnt quiet believe that it was a debut for Lynda Stacey as it was amazing and very well written.
Once again, this second installment didnt disappoint.
It was great to revist some of the old charactors and interesting to meet some new ones and learn a little more about their story.
Its wonderful to be back with Maddie and Bandit, but in this book we focus more on Maddie’s sister Jess. As well as newcomers Bastian and his daughter Lily.
As we delve into the lives and pasts of the charactors, we are met with some emotionl moments and as always a few twists and turns along the way. Without giving too much away, this is one you need to read for yourself.
Lynda Stacey always sets the scene for us and brings the charactors to life. I always feel swept up in the moment in these books. Once again Wrea Head Hall proves to be tickling our taste buds and what better time of year than at Christmas.
Camt wait for more from this brilliant Author.

This is a follow on to the House of Secrets and though it can be read alone I recommend reading House of Secrets first - that way you can enjoy seeing what happens to the lovely characters you met in the first book. In this book the focus is on Jess. As the story unfolds, through Lynda's descriptive writing, you get to experience a full range of emotions from 'oh no' to 'aww'. There is love; for a child, for a parent, for a lover. But there's also suspense that keeps you on edge. A really enjoyable read.

House of Christmas Secrets makes a return to Wrea Head Hall Hotel. Yes we’re back with familiar faces - Maddy, Bandit, Nomsa, Emily, Poppy and of course, Springer Spaniel Buddy.
Madeline is engaged to Bandit and lives in the Lodge. Sister Jess lives and works in the hotel with Assistant Manager Jack. Nine days after Christmas they are due to tie the knot.
The hotel is buzzing with activity; Christmas decorations are going up, guests arriving, food being prepared. A children’s choir booked to sing around the tree. It has been eighteen months since the trauma and upheaval in Maddy and Jess’s lives and everyone is looking forward to a nice normal Christmas.
I really don’t want to say any more as it’s the kind of story where if you reveal one thing, it leads to another and before you know it, you’re knee deep in spoilers. I will say that what Lynda has created here, is another engrossing domino effect read. One action affects another. It should be the happiest time of Jess and Jack’s lives but certain events begin to pull them apart. It starts with Jess losing someone close to her, next she’s faced with an unexpected arrival from her past. Finally there’s news which puts hers and Jack’s relationship into a bit of a flat spin. This, however, is only one fragment of the story. And there is so much more - romance, reconciliation, danger and acts of bravery. The characters are diverse too – ones you’re rooting for and others you absolutely hate. All in all it’s an entertaining and engaging read – another hit from Lynda Stacey.

This was such a brilliant read and great to go back and meet up with well loved characters once again (plus some new ones). The story follows on from the first book House of Secrets.

This year Jess is determined Christmas at Wrea Head Hall is going to be a happy one and one to remember. Her and Jack are getting married early into the new year. Two unexpected guests turn up at the Hall who have a connection to Jess. The story is interwoven with tension, heartache, love and friendship. It's such a good read. Highly recommend.
