I love stories with friends making a pact to marry one another someday and it would have been great if the author turned in that direction without having H marry someone else. That act totally ruined it for me as I kept thinking that h was his second choice or rebound since H fell in love & married someone else first. It ruins the book for me when one of the protagonist marries someone else after meeting the one that they should have chosen in the first place, so I didn't enjoy it at all. Sorry!

Two college friends make a pack that when they reach a certain age that if they did not have a significant other they would marry eachother. Life got in the way, Luke got married and they fell out of touch. Its been years and they managed to find out they signed up for a contest program with their friends and the finally see eachother again and life is a bit different from when they parted and now they are looking to reinstate their old pact.

I thought that this book was pretty good. Some what predictable but has what you'd want in a good cheesy romance type of book. I kept wanting them to tell eachother how they really felt about eachother because it was clear from the spark now they just had to lay everything out on the table before things got really complicated. Overall it was a pretty good book I enjoyed reading it.

This is Kate and Luke’s story. They have a marriage pact. If they are both single at the same time. They have strong feelings for each other. They don’t realize that the other feels love. There are many misunderstandings. True love come wins out in the end.

The Doctor's Wife for Keeps is a sweet, romantic story of two friends becoming lovers and the activation of a marriage pact made on a drunken, celebratory night. Will they remain friends with benefits or will they fall in love along the way?
As with all medical romances, I enjoy the medical side of the story. With this one, the high-adrenaline medical competition in the Czech Republic where medical emergencies were simulated, and doctors and paramedics competed to see which team won at their individual challenges was very exciting. I didn't even know such a thing existed. I love it when I learn something new. And seeing Luke perform open heart surgery on a little boy was equally gripping.
I liked Luke even if he was somewhat misguided. He's a lovely, sweet guy who was kind, extremely competent and the best in his field. Unfortunately, he'd also been hurt in love before and guarded his heart carefully. That's probably why he embarked on the hare-brained idea of a friends with benefits marriage pact with Kate. It took something momentous for Luke to realise his feelings for Kate and then it took even more for him to tell her how he really felt.
As for Kate, I felt for her. She'd had a crush on Luke back in their college days and now she has feelings for him she dare not express for fear of turning Luke away. She doesn't want to lose Luke and she's willing to accept his brand of what is a relationship but is it enough? And how is she going to feel, living a lie for the rest of her life with the man she loves?
While I wouldn't say Luke and Kate had a rocky road to their happy ever after, they certainly didn't make it easy for themselves. Both too afraid to say how they truly felt, afraid of their incorrect perceptions of how the other person felt. The relationship certainly took a few twists and turns I was not expecting. I felt like I was reading a familiar comforting story of friends to lovers but at the same time, Ms Roberts was able to keep it fresh and interesting with the way Luke and Kate worked through their relationship with each other. It certainly didn't go smoothly or work out how I thought it would.
I enjoyed my first book my Ms Roberts. I'm looking forward to reading the next story in this duology and finding out how Georgie and Matteo fare with each other.
