Katie Reus's books are pure perfection. She has the perfect formula for the Alpha hero, spitfire heroines and mature storylines. I'm not a big fan of betrayal stories but the author did such a good job of creating a story where you just can't be mad at either character for what happened. In fact, I wanted them together more because of it. I loved it!

Tempting Danger by Katie Reus another great story... Andre the son of the evil man who murdered Alena's parents. She got close to him at first to get to his father...he turned his back on her when he found out. Four months later when her sister Nika and Declan are planning their wedding Andre finds out Alena is expecting his child. It takes work to get to get to their HEA and it was fun. to share their story with them.

This is book 2 in the Retribution series and it is a novella. I highly recommend that you read book 1 so you understand exactly why the characters are in the situation and circumstances that they are in. You can understand it without reading book 1 but it would definitely make more sense after reading that book. This novella is about Alena Brennan and Andre Makarov. We saw both of these characters in the first book and this novella is set up to explain what happens to them after that book ended. Alena is now pregnant and figuring out exactly what she wants to happen in her life. She hadn't had a chance to tell Alex she was pregnant when he finds out on his own. From then on he decides he will do whatever he has to to make her safe and be able to be in his child's life.

I really enjoyed this book. I was left wondering at the end of book 1 exactly what happened with this couple and I am so glad this author wrote this for us and explains exactly how things played out after all the other drama! Alena and Alex are great together, especially once they quit letting themselves get in their own way of happiness. I also liked seeing snippets of Nika's happiness! Great read!

This is book 2 in The Retribution series. It can be read as a standalone as I haven’t read Retribution and had no problem following the storyline. This is a second chance romance. Alena betrayed Andre’s trust. Now she finds herself pregnant with Andre’s baby. This book has lots of feels. There is a little suspense in the story. I enjoyed this book a great deal! Tempting Danger is a sort of continuation from Retribution. While Retribution focuses mostly on Nika and Declan, the overarching story continues. Alena is Nika's older sister and they have finally killed all the people responsible for their parent's murder. However, the trouble isn't done for Alena. She used Andre to get close to his father, the last man she needed to kill. Using Andre left her with guilt...and a baby.

Alena is kind of a badass. She planned and executed 3 people without getting caught. Her relationship with Andre may have started as a ruse, but she did find him to be a caring, good man. She knew he would never forgive her betrayal though. Andre hated his father almost as much as Alena did, so it was no skin off his back when his father died. But he never suspected Alena of the betrayal and his pride was seriously wounded. But, he did have real feelings for her. So, fast forward 4 months, neither of them has gotten over each other, and now she has to tell him she is pregnant. They both are a bit skittish around each other. She can't believe he would forgive her so easily, he is determined to be an alpha caveman and keep her. Communication between these two is dicey and become the major stressor in the story. While not my favorite trope, it was all very understandable and natural for the history these two had with each other. Overall, Tempting Danger gives you an alpha male, a strong female, a touch of actual danger, and an unexpected baby that you can read in one sitting!

I am so glad these 2 got a book as they both played such a pivotal role in the first book with Alena's sister, and I needed to know how their story would go.

This book takes place 3 months after Andre has told her to go as she betrayed him, in a way that he was not sure he would be able to forgive. Alena is missing him terribly as she never in her wildest dreams thought she would fall for the man who was her enemies son. But she has and now not only does she have to live with the regret of hurting such a good man she discovers that she is pregnant with his baby and she is not sure how he is going to take the news.

This is a novella length book but dont let that fool you as it is jam packed from start to end, proving once again why I love this author!!! :)

Tempting Danger is a sequel to Retribution, focusing on Alena--the pregnant model/vigilante sister of Nika. From the beginning, it is glaringly obvious that this book is the second in the series, It took several chapters for me to not feel lost. This is definitely a story that should not be read as a stand-alone. The novella was ripe with melodrama--a pregnant model/vigilante with a billionaire boyfriend, psychic sister & murderous stalker. Any one of those would have comprised more than enough plot for a novella. Combined, I felt none got the attention deserved.

I have not read the first book but even though part of the story between Andre and Alena takes place in that one, it did not bother me.

Alena is pregnant and needs/wants to tell her ex Andre. They broke up after she had used him to take revenge on his father. I really enjoyed the story of their second chance. It is well written, a typical Katie Reus book. There is some misunderstanding, a stalker and a tragic past.

A ten year old girl witnesses her parents being murdered. That sort of thing can have a profound effect causing some children to close up and other going for revenge. Alena Brennan went for revenge. What she didn’t plan on was falling in love with the man she used to get close to the last man on her list. What she really didn’t plan on was being pregnant with his child.
Alena Brennan Is a good man and knew how ruthless his father was. He realized why Alena used him and is glad his father is dead, but he can’t get her out of his mind.
This is a beautiful love story about two people who came together for the wrong reasons who now need to figure out if their love is strong enough to overcome the past.
And there’s just a hint of suspense to keep things interesting!
As usually, the author does a great job of providing enough backstory so you don’t have to read the previous book first. The characters are well thought out as is the story line.
Another great book!

I really enjoyed it. The characters were fun, strong yet fallible. No one is perfect. I will read the first book. Recommend this book to all romance readers!!

I have not read Retribution before I started with Tempting Danger. I was a bit lost in the beginning, so I would recommend reading Retribution first to get a clear view of the characters.

Alena wanted revenge so badly for what Andre's father did to her and her sister by killing their parents. Now she's pregnant with Andre's baby. Andre was a very possessive man and just won't let her go.

I haven't read the first book in the Retribution Series, and while I would have preferred to have read it, I could understand everything that happened in Tempting Danger without having read the first book.
As always the author manages to capture my interest and attention immediately from the first page on. I fell in love with Alena and Andre immediately and wished so much for them to get back together. The characters were well developed and it was easy to follow the plot. I would have liked the showdown to be a bit more exciting and maybe a bit longer, but all in all I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I hope for a novella where we can meet Alena and her sister/family again.

I think you need to read the first book in this series to get the real feel of Andre and Alena. Unfortunately, I had not read it before reading this story. But, that did not take away the sweet romance that we see in this second chance romance. Alena and Andrea tip-toeing around each other was fun to watch and you needed to know if they could overcome the past to pursue a future. Definitely worth a Sunday afternoon with a cup of tea.

I should have started with book one. Although the author tried to catch us up with a prologue, it wasn't until chapter 2 that I was caught up enough to follow the story line.
Andre is not someone to take no for an answer. He finds ways around them easily enough. I can see why Alena is apprehensive to try again with Andre. She actually holds out longer than I thought that she would.
