Great book, love this author and how they can keep my attention to the end! The plot is well developed, characters are believable and they obviously paid attention to detail to make the story worth your time to read.

I could barely get started with this book. Not sure if it was just a slow starter or just not the book for me at this time, but I wasn't able to get through the first few chapters.

Ginger Kid was an entertaining read. Steve was the weird ginger kid at school. He tells us stories - mostly funny, from his awkward High School years giving hope to the under dog in all of us. Although I enjoyed and laughed at Ginger Kid I wasn't as happy with the way Steve writes, To me this book is an "easy upper reader" - a good book for reluctant teenage readers but I thought that there were just too many full names of friends, girlfriends, bullies, haters, teachers and .acquaintances to remember or care about. He also over explained some things, whilst this works well in stand up comedy but when reading I found myself saying "yes, I know, get on with it!"
Always a fan of Young Adult Non Fiction
Fans of The Wimpy Kid series will enjoy. this book.

Positives here: It's told in short bursts. Its easy to read a page or two and then do something else of a while

Negatives: the title is a bit misleading. I'd classify Hofstetter more as an outsider than a true nerd.

Intriguing and a decent casual read.

A fun, easy, read that’s deceitfully informative. Each essay delivers laughs and lessons together, from things Hofstetter learned about girls and relationships to his development as a comedian. I liked the gently self-deprecating, funny way the stories are related. The short sections are perfect for readers with short gaps of time for reading—perfect for me right now!

I liked that even though the stories often have a moral lesson to them, it felt very personal rather than instructive. The scenes about improv made me want to play the games he described or join a local improv group—they sounded like so much fun!

Ginger Kid is a great read not just for misfits but for anyone who has ever felt awkward in a crowd or wrestled with self-discovery. If you’re looking for a lighthearted read, add this one to your list for sure!
