I loved it! From the premise, to the characters, and last but not least the writing... this books scored on every level. It's a sports read that's true to wow fans of the genre!

I grabbed this book for a couple reasons. First and foremost, I read Naima's Lick series last year and those suckers were HAWT!! I Floved them. However, I lost track of her this past year, so I was elated when this beauty popped up on NetGalley. Second, that cover....how sexy is this guy?!! Luckily Zephirin did not disappoint. He had me falling in love so fast, my head is still spinning.

The characters and the storyline are the shining stars of this entertaining read. I love the twin switcheroo trope. It's handled very well here. It creates just enough drama to make things interesting without feeling too angsty or frivolous. The writing is top notch and the story is well plotted. It's a home run!

Hot damn.

Naima Simone’s Scoring with the Wrong Twin captured me completely, and I am dying for more from this author.

Sophia Cruz is tired of playing by the rules, and when her twin sister asks Sophia to pretend to be her at a modeling shoot, Sophia agrees. But her rules are completely thrown out the window when her modeling partner, tight end for the Washington Warriors, Zeph walks into the room. As the lies pile up, Sophia wonders if it’s over before it even begins.

Mistaken identity. One night to more. This book just hit all the right notes. I enjoyed Sophia. She’s an app designer (love!) who is trying to work her way up in her company. She’s a little shy and guarded, but when she meets Zeph, she discovers this bold, sensual woman who just wants a piece of the commanding football player.

I also like how timely and relevant the plot was. Something I really like in my contemporaries is watching the hero and heroine not only fight to be together but fight for their dreams. You get that with Sophia’s storyline here. She’s working in a predominately male-dominated field and her boss…uck!

And Zeph…oh, what a delightful hero he was! Super sweet yet bold and confident and sexy. He remembers Sophia’s sister—the poised, no holds barred model—and Sophia is completely different. But he can only offer her one night despite the chemistry crackling at his fingertips.

I mean all the secrets upon secrets…I could NOT stop reading. And the connection…I seriously read through these spicy as hell scenes and just had to sit back and say, “well, damn.” They were so charged, I felt like my skin was on fire. The ending left me grinning like crazy.

I have found a new auto-buy author, and I’ll recommend this book all day long.

5 Stars!

"Scoring With The Wrong Twin" by Naima Simone

What will happen when these twins switch their rolls? Well for Sophia and identical twin Giovanna it was really read that will keep you turning the pages to see how this story will turn out as one twin will beg the other sister to pretend to do a modeling shoot for her. In the end what will happen when it all comes out as the football player Zephirin Black finds out what has really gone on in this plot between these two sisters that definitely involved him. Will these two Sophia and Zephirin be able to get past all of the problems and they get their HEA? Well, you will have to pick up this good read to see how well this author brings it all out to the reader. I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers copy of this book from NetGalley. and would recommend it as a good read,

I wasn’t expecting to like Scoring with the Wrong Twin. When I read the blurb, I did an eye roll. I thought it was going to be a “wham bam thank you ma’am” romance novel. Open and shut. The title also gave me that type of vibe too. But, I was wrong. So wrong. Scoring with the Wrong Twin had a surprising depth to it that I wasn’t expecting and that I enjoyed.

The plot of Scoring with the Wrong Twin is very typical for a romance novel. Sophia, an up and coming app programmer, is talked into covering for her identical twin sister, a model. Her sister booked two shoots and needs Sophia to do one of the shoots for her. Sophia agrees. It is there she meets Zephirin, the hot tight end for the Washington Warriors. The attraction between Sophia and Zeph are immediate. There is one thing, Zeph is under the impression that Sophia is her sister. What will happen when Sophia is found out? Need to read the book!!

I loved Sophia but felt bad for her at the same time. She was bullied when she was younger. Even her twin couldn’t keep the bullies at bay. When Sophia was recounting that very painful period of her life, I wanted to hug her. Those hard years shaped her into the woman she was. It also was the reason she put up with her boss taking credit for her work and passing her over for big jobs. It was also why she couldn’t tell her sister no when she asked her to cover for her at the shoot. Sophia was also very quirky. Her love of 80’s movies was very clear, as was her love of tattoos and piercings. It was refreshing to read a female lead who was comfortable in her skin.

I couldn’t get enough of Zephirin, even if he had issues. I didn’t understand why he was so standoffish with Sophia at first. He did come across as a jerk. But once he explained to Sophia what his ex did, I could understand why he was acting that way. If my boyfriend did that to me, I would have the same issues. He did deal with his ex trying to get him back with more grace than I would have.

The hot sexual attraction between Sophia and Zeph turned into hot sex. Scorching hot. If it was fire, it would have melted my Kindle’s screen.

The events leading up to the ending of Scoring with the Wrong Twin was impressive. I was so happy to see Sophia put her boss in his place and realize her dream. The ending its self was fantastic. I was expecting the emotional reunion between Sophia and Zeph, I wasn’t expecting how it was done. I actually had tears in my eyes. The epilogue was perfect!!

Scoring with the Wrong Twin was a surprise. I thought the storyline was fantastic and had a lot of heart. The characters were well-rounded. The sex was hot. This is a book that I would recommend and I would reread.

Rated 3.5!

Sophia Cruz always gives in to her twin. That is how she finds herself doing her sister's modeling shoot. What she isn't expecting is the confidence it gives her and that she would meet Washington Warriors Zephirin Black in the process. Gah, what's a girl to do?

Zeph is intrigued by the changes he sees in Sophia, the woman he believes to be Giovanna. He cannot deny the attraction, but he only wants a fling. He has done serious in the past and he isn't willing to open himself up like that again. Or is he?

I have to admit that I picked up SCORING WITH THE WRONG TWIN by author Naima Simone because I thought it had to do with male twins, but I am not in the least disappointed. It is kind of nice to see a contemporary center around female twins. Sparks fly between Zeph and Sophia. They are so unprepared for what their actions cause, but that just makes it all the sweeter. SCORING WITH THE WRONG TWIN is a sexy, sexy read!

Oh wow just wow. I have to say I absolutely love Naima Simone and her books and this one is spectacular. I couldn’t put this book down at all. It captivated me from the very first page and held me attention all the way through and had me turning the pages as quickly as I could and I still didn’t want it to end. I really really need the next book right now but I know I will have to wait but I can re-read this one till the next one comes out. Just phenomenal work by this amazingly talented author. A must read all day long and I would wholeheartedly recommend

I love the cover, and the premise was intriguing, but I wasn't captivated enough to finish the whole book.

Sophia Cruz is the complete opposite of her twin, her twin is outgoing and a model while Sophia looks exactly like her she is more into computers and is the shy one. When her sister asks her to pretend she is her for a model shoot, Sophia reluctantly agrees but she does not expect to be modeling with Washington Warriors Tight End Zephirin Black. Everything about him makes Sophia's body hum but she knows it can never go anywhere especially when he thinks she is her twin.

Zephirin has worked with this beautiful model before but something is different about her and she is a bit quirkier than he remembers. Zephirin wants to get to know Sophia more but she only agrees to a one night stand, but it is not enough for him. The one thing Zephirin wont tolerate is liars though, after a bad breakup he learned his lesson. What will happen when Zephirin realizes his initial meeting with Sophia was all a lie?

Fantastic, this was a page turner for me. You wanted to see where this was going with Sophia and Zephirin and like big red flags in the distance you couldn't stop the impending crash that would happen. I felt for Sophia because she is in a pickle where her sister is concerned and yet she is falling hard for Zephirin. Excellent read, was just what I was looking for.

What happens when twins switch rolls? The shy Sophia helps her Model sister with ob and end s in a physical relationship with a hot strong Football player. But what happens when the truth is revealed? I liked this story, loved both Sophia and Zeph. Zeph is not typically man whore Football-player but one serious devoted athlete with some ugly past. Sophia is also a great person. I liked how although they knew each other just short period of time they really did know the right word to say and they were complementary. Enjoyable read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I voluntary read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I enjoyed this book, I found it cute. We meet Sophia who is a shy programmer, but when her sister the model asks her for a big favor she can't say no. She ends up going to a shoot pretending to be identical twin Giovanna. Sophia gets the shock of her life when she finds herself aside from Zephirin Black a gorgeous football player. Zephiring could not understand what was different from his partner he thought she was aloof and stuck up. They are attracted to each other and Zephirin is all about the honesty and sophia who should tell him the truth keeps quiet not wanting to rock the boat, we all know how that will end..So what happens? You need to read my friends..Enjoy!!

A scorching read! Naima delivers the goods. Sophia and Giovanna were a delight to read, as it was the first time I have read about a Boricua heroine, which made me immensely happy!
My only criticism of this book was that there were several misspellings when it came to the Spanish words or the author used the wrong word. And I should know since I speak the language and share the same heritage as the Cruz twins.

In “Scoring With the Wrong Twin” by Naima Simone we meet Sophia Cruz, programmer extraordinaire, and her sister, Giovanna, a rising model. When Giovanna begs her sister to pretend to be her for a modeling shoot, Sophia gives in. Little did she know that her modeling partner would be a drop dead gorgeous football player named Zephirin Black.

As she continues to keep her secret it soon lands her in a very bad spot. She has to tell Zephirin the truth, but doing so could mean losing the one thing she selfishly wants for herself.

I received a copy of this book through Net Galley and this is my honest review.

4.5 - "Honesty... no lies." Stars!

I have a bit of a soft spot for Naima Simone’s writing, so was excited to see that her next series; WAGS is based around pro-footballer’s and of course the women that fall for them.

IMAGE.

I think the title pretty much gives the game away when it comes to the themes of the story. No real surprises in how things turned out either, but I absolutely adored Zephirin, and Sophia held her own as well.

She just wanted to be someone else for a little while… Enjoy this dance of attraction, savor the sensual gleam in his eyes.

This was a really great introduction to the series, the story was easy to get along with the drama, well-paced and not overly done, neither of them spent too long bemoaning the issues from their pasts, and as I have come to expect from this author the sexy times were hella hot, and plentiful.

"You make me want things I shouldn’t… That I know better than to take. Wanting you makes me selfish."

I look forward to reading more from this series in the future, the author started it off with great style.

A very sweet romance between Sophia and Zephirin. The story was written in a way that it seemed very realistic the way Sophia and Zephirin interacted with each other. That also carried over to Sophia's relationship with her identical twin sister. The plot was interesting. It had humor sprinkled throughout. There was many unspoken things that lead to problems for the couple. But in the end the power of love gave them the strength to stand up for what they believed and wanted. A great read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel! It was fast paced, held my attention, I read it in one sitting and would recommend this novel to my book club to read. I think they would love Sophia and Zephirin's story. I will be reading more novels from this author for sure!

Fantastic book!! The characters and plot were very well developed. I really enjoyed it. My only criticism would be that I wish it was longer - including more dialogue with her sister and his friends!

My goodness, this was one hot read! Sports romances are usually hit or miss. But this one knocked it right of the park. Zeph and Sophia were totally relatable, the plot was good and kept me hooked from page one. And I love happily ever afters. I never read this writer's work until now. But I am definitely paying attention to her now. I loved this book! I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This decadent romance with well developed characters of colour impressed galore, and witty intersectional feminist reflections along the way made it even more meaningful!

Sophia is persuaded to give her twin sister a hand when she is double booked for a modeling shoot. Instead of canceling one shoot Giovanna asks Sophia to go to Sports Illistrated shoot. She just wasn’t aware that the shoot was going to be with the very sexy Zephirin Black. The immediate attraction between Sophia and Zephirin is sizzling hot.
Zephirin can’t quite figure out what has changed about Giovanna. When he first met her, he dismissed her for being an aloof and cold model, but what he doesn’t realize is that it isn’t Giovanna he is attracted to but to Sophia. He has been burned before and he stresses to Sophia how important honesty is to him, so it is understandable how angry he is when he find out that Sophia lied to him about who she was. Will Sophia lies cost her a gorgeous sexy man? Will Zephirin inability to let go of the past break this new relationship with Sophia?
“If you’re honest, you would admit you’ve been waiting for me to fail, to prove you right so you could walk away without any risk, any sacrifice.”
I really enjoyed this book. I don’t often enjoy the love/ lust at first sight thing, but Naima Simone wrote it all beautifully. Getting to know the characters and their insecurities and how they had to let go of the things holding them back to be together was dreamy.
