This is the story of Flighty, Francis Headly. She has been in and out of half moon street stories for a few books. You don't need to read these books but they add to the background of the story. She is looking for her mentor, Hestia's, long lost son.
Rhys is the son of Hestia and Lord Marstroke. He is an extremely talented painter. He wants nothing to do with his parents and their fued. His father is evil incarnate. He cannot forgive his mother for abandoning him as a baby.
Flighty tracks Rhys down with the intention of reuniting him with his mother. She also loves his paintings.
There is an instant attraction between them. But they both have their past baggage that makes it hard for them to open up and trust one another.
When Flighty's life is threatened, Rhys realizes that he loves her and will do any to save her, even deal with his parents.
I loved this book. I loved the development of the characters and their relationship. I strongly recommend it.

I really enjoyed Francis and Rhys's story! I loved Francis and her personality. She was someone that you would want to be your friend. I also really liked Rhys. Living the life that he wanted and not wanting to get into the drama of his parents definitely made him a different type of hero than I normally read about.

A great addition to the Half Moon House series!!

Miss Francis Headley aka Flighty has come to Edinburgh to search out the long-lost son of her employer. Rhys Caradec the artist keeps himself apart from all connections because of his past. Rhys wanting nothing to do with his parents especially his mother who’s searching for him. Rhys is definitely is intrigued with Francis who switches between boy dress and a beautiful young woman. Francis believes she can change Rhys’ view of the world and where everyone fits into the world to her point of view. This is a sweet romance with a sexy hero and a witty and humorous Flighty.
This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

This is a really great story , but because I didn’t read the first two in the Half Moon series I think I didn’t get quite the full feel for it .
However I did enjoy it and would recommend it it to all fans of the series .
It’s well written , as always by Deb and is a real page turner.

I received an Arc copy of this book from Netgalley and chose to submit a review

Rhys Caradec is an amazing painter and also the son of Hestia Wright and Marstoke. Miss Francis Headley has had a hard life but works now with Hestia, to help women who need it. Marstoke is one very evil man and he has a vendetta against Hestia and his son.
Wow, this is a very different kind of story and it definitely has some twists to it. The descriptions are great. The characters are lush, vibrant and realistic. Fancis and Rhys time together is a very good example of two people who care about each other but something keeps gettin in the way. Intrigue and danger is around every corner. When the bad guys show up you don't know if you have been betrayed or by whom. The book is well written, even paced and easy to read. This is a first time author for me and I am grateful I was allowed to read this marvelous tale.
I received this ARC free from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.

This was such an enjoyable read! The Lady's Legacy is book 3 in the Half Moon House series.

Francis Headley was rescued by Hestia Wright, and is now wanting to help her find her missing son to repay her kindness. Rhys Caradec is an artist who prefers to be removed from his family. When fate brings these two people together, sparks fly! But they both want the other one to take their side of the situation. Ms. Marlowe really knows how to blend romance, suspense and endearing characters to create a sweet story!

I enjoyed “The Lady’s Legacy” by Deb Marlowe, but had to return to the beginning of the Half Moon House series to catch the threads of this complicated story that relies much on the long history of Hestia Wright and her estranged husband, Lord Marstoke. Francis, one of Hestia’s foundlings has gone to seek out Rhys Caradoc, Hestia and Marstoke’s artist son. She finds him, but he refuses to involve himself in what he sees as an endless feud between his parents. He finds himself all too easily involved with Francis, though, and with her he comes to understand more of the story and meaning of Half Moon House.

In The Lady’s Legacy by Deb Marlowe, Francis Hadley is on a mission. In order to help the woman who had given her so much, Francis was determined to track down her long-lost son.

Hestia Wright had taken a street urchin and turned her into a young lady. Francis owed Hestia so much, and she was determined to pay her back.

Keeping the existence of her son secret from the Marquis of Marstoke had been necessary to protect him. But now that the Marquis knew of his existence, there is no need to keep the secret anymore.

Not even Hestia knew the location of her son, so Francis was determined to pay her back with that knowledge. But Rhys Caradec did not want to be found. An artist of some talent though he couldn’t remain hidden forever. When Francis discovers one of his paintings hanging in the British Museum, she finally has a lead on his whereabouts.

Dressed as her urchin boy alter ego “Flightly“ Francis sets off for Edinburgh. Literally running into him, she makes quite an impression. And that is where the story begins.

Different From Your Average Regency

This is somewhat different from your average Regency. Usually the young woman in question is of the gentry, and of course the man normally has a title. It was interesting to read about quite different characters this time.

The story itself is exciting, interesting, and quickly draws you in. Although this is the third book in the Half Moon series, this is the first book I’ve read from this author. I look forward to getting more books in the series.

Rhys Caradec wonders around searching for his next inspiration to sketch or paint. Never putting down roots and never forming true relationships because people always leave. He has no need to be found and will not be used as a pawn between his warring parents.
Fast on her feet and clever and smart as a whip Francis “Flighty” Headley only need direction and guidance and a purpose to truly thrive thanks to Hestia Wright she’s overcome her past.
The love for her greatest friend and champion, Hestia has Francis on the search for the one gift that could repay her debut, find Hestia’s son.
Putting on her former persona “Flighty” Francis sets out to run down Rhys and make him see that he should forgive Hestia for leaving him and see the good she does. Rhys sees only hurt in Hestia’s work and will make Francis see the truth of it. As passion flares and the lines blur each start to fall and their relationship starts to bloom into a friendship the walls start to fall and Rhys conventions start to waver. Little did Rhys know that being found by Francis would be his greatest gift if only he could except a path he never wanted.
I wish I had read the books before this one so I need to go back and read them. I’m looking forward to the next book.

This book is everything you want in a good story. Beautiful storytelling, amazing characters, and a wonderful plot.

It's always a treat when Deb Marlowe finishes a new Half Moon House story. Hestia Wright is an amazing character whether in the Half Moon House books or when she pops up in other stories. Each Chapter in this books is started with an excerpt from Hestia's journal (a sad and heartbreaking tale in itself). This story focuses on Hestia's son Rhys Caradec, who has been estranged from his mother and his evil father since childhood.
Rhys is a painter and his father Lord Marstoke is trying to use him as a pawn to get back at Hestia. Rhys has refused to get caught as a pawn between his two parents and so has closed himself off until a young boy Flightly (aka Miss Francis Headley) comes into his life.
The Half Moon House stories show that a hard/ sad past doesn't mean you are doomed to that life. Each person touched by HEstia is able to rise above the pain and hurt and find love and happiness.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author.

Light fingers, fast feet, a quick wit and empathy for the downtrodden—none of these qualities will help Miss Francis ‘Flightly’ Headley fit in with Regency Society. They are perfect for a young woman helping the infamous Hestia Wright at Half Moon House, however. And they might be exactly what is needed to find Hestia’s long-lost son. Mr. Rhys Caradec is an artist who lives his life exactly as he wishes unfettered and free travelling where ever he want. He has no interest in either of his warring parents then he meets Francis in Edinburgh & is fascinated by her
As with all the author’s books the characterisation is very good, the plot is very well paced & takes the reader on a vivid journey around Edinburgh where Rhys is currently living & painting. Both of them are strong characters & unwilling to bend to see the others point of view, that is until a series of events make them both realise what is important. I’m now impatiently awaiting the next book in the series due to the cliff hanger. I really enjoyed the book, a page turning read that I’d recommend.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
