This book was a great one to read during the Christmas season. I enjoyed how Clio had to go back through history in order to go forward. It shows how something horrible does affect a persons life for a long time if it is not addressed. I cheered for Clio and her friends throughout the book and during each phase of their renovations. It was a heartwarming book that I really enjoyed.

I love books that are set around the Christmas season and was not disappointed with this book. I absolutely loved it. I was pulled into the story immediately and could not put the book down. I recommend to all readers who enjoy a good seasonal romance.

This book was previously published in three separate books - Celebrations & Confetti, Brides & Bouquets, Midnight & Mistletoe. I was really keen for this one to be released as a single volume.
It leaves you with lovely images of CedarWood Lodge coming back to life after Clio decides to renovate it and turn it into a venue for celebrations.
You fall in love with the old house and all the characters become firm friends. There is an air of mystery surrounding the house and lots of romance, too.
This book comes with bonus material which is a lovely catch up with the characters and how their lives have changed surrounded by the magic and love in the air at Cedarwood Lodge.

Am I going totally crazy on the Christmas books? Maybe. Do I regret that for even a second? Absolutely not. The latest addition (thanks, Netgalley!) is Winter at Cedarwood Lodge and – if I thought the previous couple of were as good as it was ever going to get. Well, this one was at least as, if not even more amazing than the previous ones I’ve read!

STORY

This winter it’s time to fall in love at Cedarwood Lodge…

After years of dreaming, Clio Winters is finally fulfilling her childhood dream of renovating the gorgeous old Cedarwood Lodge in Evergreen and turning it into the perfect destination for celebrations, weddings and extravagant birthday parties. The huge property used to be a bustling holiday camp, now Clio wants to bring it back to its halcyon days – which will be a lot of hard work!

Returning back to the small town of her youth she’s glad to have one of her best friends still around to lean on, Micah who is just as solid as he used to be. But with her own secrets pushing her to run from her glamorous life in New York, she’ll have to tread carefully, especially when the far-too-handsome-for-his-own-good contractor, Kai, shows up on her doorstep…

Sure she’s here in Evergreen to change her life, but there is no way she’s falling in love!

CHARACTERS

Clio is, in many ways, very typical. You know the whole “girl couples everyone else up but stays single forever”-plot? Yeah, that’s this book.

Good news is: Clio is more than just that character. As is Kay, as is Micah (love that guy, by the way. Any book needs a best friend to fall in love with, and Micah is totally that guy). She’ didn’t quite come back to her childhood town because New York was so amazing – and the actual consequences of the fall-out she left behind are dealt with in a pretty realistic way.

Probably the best thing for me – maybe even more so than Clio and Kai, better than the incredible thing this entire house is? Clio’s mum. You know there’s a story there, from the very beginning, but the way this character and her journey are worked out. And that’s just a sort of background story!

Seriously, any writer who pays as much attention to the stories of “secondary characters” as to that of the main character? I’m already more inclined to like their writing.

NARRATION

You know those pictures you see go past on Pinterest or Tumblr? The ones that makes you feel like, really, probably those places don’t actually exist? That’s what Cedarwood Lodge’s surroundings sound like. So yeah, kudo’s to Rebecca Raisin for that.

Maybe the one thing I would have as a remark is that, quite often, the author seems to jump ahead in the timeline without really giving any explanation. Then, at other times, she seems to fit 8 hours of work into a 2 hour bit of the morning. Quite frankly, these characters either have superpowers or time is just really wonky in Cedarwood Lodge-universe 🙂 As does money, now that I come to think about it. While Clio states a couple of times that she needs something to work out for financial reasons, she does seem to have a knack for finding more money on her bank account every single time 🙂

OVERALL: 4/5

When I read this, I really needed a book to take my mind off everything I had on my to do-list. And if you, like me, need some escapism? Preferably with some Christmas-sprinkles on top? Then this is probably the book for you. It’ll make you smile, you’ll feel for the characters and at the end… Well, let’s just say I’ve been trying to pinpoint where exactly Cedarwood Lodge would be for a couple of days now! Got to visit that place, you know 🙂

I loved this book. It is a compilation of three books that were previously published with a bonus clip of extra material added into the mixture.
Cleo has started her dream business, Cedarwood Lodge which was abandoned for many years and needs quite a bit of work done. So she needs some help from some old and new friends to get it back up and running.
A great book to get you in the Christmas spirit, grab a cuppa and get cozy as you’ll want to keep on reading once you start.

I absolutely loved this book. It had everything to keep you interested right to the end. Several things going on only added to the fun of this book. A little mystery, a lot of romance and the Holidays.

I really loved this book from the start and couldn't put it down until the end.
The book starts with our main character Clio preparing to open Cedarwood Lodge, which she bought after spending her youth growing up playing in it as an abandoned building.
She fell in love with the property when she was young and told her close friend that one day she would own it, this day has come.
We then slowly find out about her past and how she ended up back at her home town in a blaze of dark clouds after leaving the bright lights of Manhattan.
The book is split into three parts, which isn't surprising as it was originally released as three separate novellas and it works really well put together like this.
I really liked the character of Clio and found her really believable, and the way she handled everything that was thrown at her made her a nice strong female lead.
The book itself is a brilliant Christmas read as it isn't too over the top with the situations that the author puts the characters in.
I felt that the love interests for Clio and Micah were well worked as well, especially Micah and Isla's relationship

Firstly I would just like to thank Rebecca for asking me to take part in what has been a lovely book tour, to share my thought's! Also to the publishers and Netgally for providing me with a e-book copy of the book!
I had previously had the pleasure of reading these books, when they were three separate one's; which on all accounts I loved then. I was looking forward to reading them all together and being reunited with Clio's story!

Wow what a stunning looking cover this is! I really love the purple back ground (which is also my favourite colour!) It makes the lovely white snowy mountains really stand out. The Lodge, the wintery trees and the falling snow flakes floating down through the title is the perfect winter scene! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Let me jump in their!!!)
I'm a big fan of Rebecca's writing and, story telling and her book's are something I return to again and again. Simply because they have the greatest feel-good factor, that is truly wonderful, giving me nothing but pure and utter joy while I read!
Winter at Cedarwood Lodge by Rebecca Raisin is as compilation of three books that were published last year, and has been beautifully edited into one glorious book; with the added bonus of extra material. It really does have everything in a winter read you could possibly want from; drama, beautiful romance's, mystery, glorious description of the setting and unique characters you won't be able to not fall in love with!
Clio moves back to her home town of Evergreen. She's returning after her Manhattan career as an events planner, doesn't end to well. Clio get the very wrong end of the stick at a high-profile wedding she's panned causing an unintended mistake which costs her job. So when Cedarwood Lodge in her home town comes on the market; she see's this as an opportunity to make a fresh start. Cedarwood Lodge is somewhere Clio has always admired which had never been used for years. She wants to bring it back to life, so it can be full of people enjoying them self's at a special occasion, and t provide her with a much-needed income. She also want's to work with local businesses for these event's she only hope's she get's, to make the events wonderfully special for her client's.
For her to for fill her plan to bring Cedarwood Lodge back to how it was meant to be she in list's the help from her childhood best friend Micah, Isia a landscape gardener, Kai an extremely good looking Aussie building manager and a team of builders. To add pressure to the renovation she lines up her first very special event at the Lodge, which mean's there's a tight time frame to get it all perfectly ready in time. This event is extra special one because it's the 50th wedding anniversary for Edgar and his wife Imelda. It's particularly poignant because they married here at the Lodge. The revelation's certainly don't go without hiccup's, which gave me much anticipation of will they manage it all in time for the party?!
After the party Clio is planning to hold a wedding expo; to try to pull n some more business; to show the lodge off at it's best and to show future brides what they can offer for their magical day. Clio gets an unexpected visit from her work college and Manhattan best friend Army, who is being cagey as to why she is here! But with Kai leaving after the renovation of the Lodge is done; to start another job, will they manage to get the whole place including the chapel done in time? and does Clio really have feeling's for him?
As well as dealing with everything going on at the lodge Clio has to try to build on her relationship with her anxious and reclusive mother; who's not so pleased about her purchase of Cedarwood. Clio doesn't know why and knows she has to tread carefully to find out why her mother is so agonised the Lodge, only to come to a dead-end. This part of the story really got me intrigued as to what this could possibly be. Rebecca has written this with pure emotion and in a delicate manner.
I adore Kai's caring and kind nature, when he see's Clio is getting stressed, going for walks up mountains and midnight yoga. They really form a lovely friendship. I noticed a spark between these pair in an instant and hoped very much they would allow them self's to realise it and take the next step in their relationship. He also finds something out about his parent's he has to try to get to grips with, which he confides in Clio. The anticipation of will they won't they really spur's you on to read on! To add a bit more confusion Clio bump's into her childhood sweetheart Tim and his two children. His boss want's to hold an extravagant New Year's Eve party at the lodge, and is constantly making panning the party for Clio to sort out, luckily Army is there to help! Does Tim just want to be friends or does he want more? Will the party go on without a hitch? Will Kai come back?
Clio's character is pretty hard not to adore, not only is she good at what she does, she care's about it and the people around her. I also loved the individual characters as there story's progressed in the book and how they over come thing's together like a tight knit family; which I think gave this story an extra special something making it perfect Rebecca style!
Winter at Cedarwood Lodge is the perfect winter read, to cosy up in a blanket with a nice hot drink! So I think it's pretty safe to say I love, love, love this story and one I will defiantly be going back too!!! Highly recommending this guy's, so go grab you self a copy and emirs you self into Cedarwood lodge!

I really liked this book. It is filled with (my) necessities for Christmas: Family, romance (weddings). I loved reading it as I sat next to my Christmas tree, and had lit our fire. I highly recommend this book if you want to read something romantic in Christmas style.

Winter at Cedarwood Lodge was previously published in three seperate books called Celebrations & Confetti, Brides & Bouquets and Midnight & Mistletoe. I had the pleasure of reading these when they were published, and as I loved them so much I was more than happy to re read this again in one action packed book.
I fell in love instantly with Clio Winters, who is the main charactor.
Clio returns from New York, where she worked as a party planner to her home town of Evergreen. Deciding to buy Cedarwood lodge after it was a childhood dream of hers to one day own it. Sadly the Lodge has stood empty and is now very run down. With the help of friends, Micah, Amory and Kai, Clio wants to retorse the lodge to its former glory and host parties, celebrations and weddings there.
As we get carried away with the story we learn of some secrets and mysteries surrounding the lodge, Romance to be had, aswell as a few twists and turns. I really hope we get to visit this amazing bunch of people again in the future.
This is a perfect Christmas read that will keep you on your toes and have you jumping to the next page. I would recommend it to anyone. So wrap up warm, grab a mug of hot chocolate, sit in front of the fire and get lost in Cedarwood Lodge.

This book is very well written with it being full of romance, families, weddings and starting over at Christmas time. Perfect read for curling up in front of a warm fire and thinking about Christmas. Clio has been working as a wedding planner but comes to an end in a bad way and she feels she needs to get away and start again. She moves back to her home town and buys a cedarwood lodge which as a child she said she always would buy it. It's stood empty for years and she sets to working on it to get it up and running so people can have events there and stay there as well. Her mother isn't to keen on her coming back but she really wants to make it work and to build a relationship with her mother. Little dies she know her mum is hiding secrets but she doesn't want to share for now but will she be able to so that Clio can understand and help her. Can she get the lodge open in Tim with for a party that has been booked in and along the way she meets old friends from her chidlhood and can she find love and happiness and she is sure she is always planning others weddings but never her own. This is a beautiful read and highly recommend it.

Clio has moved back to her home town from new York and bought Cedarwood Lodge as a renovation project. But her mum isn't happy - what is she hiding and can Clio find out and let go of her past long enough to find a happy future.

Delightful story. A bit scattered in some parts of the storyline and then other areas a bit too dragged out. All in all the story is heartwarming. I recommend. .

Absorbing, enchanting, and sugary sweet!

In this latest compilation, Winter at Cedarwood Lodge, Raisin sweeps us away to a wintery paradise where the snow is falling, the accommodations are rustic, the food is scrumptious, and love is in the air.

The prose is light, atmospheric, and well turned. The characters are unique, flawed, and multi-layered. And the story is a compelling tale full of tender moments, humorous hijinks, self-discovery, friendship, family, community, happiness, love, a little mystery, and a whole lot of Christmas cheer!

Overall, Winter at Cedarwood Lodge is a charming holiday treat that's perfect for a chilly afternoon curled up in front of the fire with a steaming mug of hot chocolate!

*Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

I have read this book last year, when it was split into three separate parts. I have to admit, I struggled a bit with it last year, but reading the whole book at once has changed my opinion on it.

The story follows Clio Winters returns home after leaving in New York for years. She takes over Cedarwood Lodge together with her best friend Micah. It’s a lot of work, but with the help from the others she can do it.

Micah is a great best friend and even after not seeing each other for years, their friendship is deep and they are very close. Then we have contractor Kai, who is Australian and very attractive. There are many more lovely characters and they all add their own spark to the story. This was lovely to see.

The book is filled with romance, secrets, passion, a festive atmosphere, wonderful characters and much more. The storyline has a beautiful flow. Reading the whole book in one go, made it easier for me to connect to the characters and the story. It’s very well written and perfect for a cold December night.

Rating: 4.5/5

I loved the characters and the writing style is brilliant, just the right type for this genre of book and it made the words really flow and the story come to life off the pages

Definitely a book I'd recommend - no hesitation in giving this one 5 stars - loved it!!

This was previously published as three separate books called Celebrations & Confetti, Brides & Bouquets, Midnight & Mistletoe but it has a bonus section at the end and it has been re-edited.

Although it’s possible that you’ve read the three novellas that make up Winter at Cedarwood Lodge (Celebrations & Confetti, Brides & Bouquets, Midnight & Mistletoe), when combined in this re-edited presentation the stories flow and blend into one beautiful and enjoyable book. I make mention of this simply because I dislike finding out too late that I’ve already read a re-presentation of books, so I will always be upfront about that in reviews so that you can make your own choice knowing the background of stories.

I had such fun with Winter at Cedarwood Lodge. It’s full of lively, interesting characters, a mystery to solve, distancing of families to heal and some delightful love stories to warm the heart. The central figure here is Clio who once upon a time left her small home town of Evergreen for the bright lights and cut throat antics of life in New York City, Manhattan specifically. She worked hard, created her career, and was successful… right up until she made the huge mistake of giving advice to a hesitant bride. That decision, unlike her really for she knew better, cost her everything for nothing is as vindictive as a bridezilla who will make anyone else the villain in her own horror story. Clio will head back home to regroup and redirect her life. When the ruined mess of the old Cedarwood property goes up for sale she jumps at the chance to realize a childhood dream. With a dream in mind, a focus to achieve a goal and far too deep in debt, Clio will now set out to take the Cedarwood hotel property back to its original glory – with visions of celebrations, destination weddings and much more dancing in her imagination.

But not everyone wants to see that happen. There is a mystery surrounding the Cedarwood and Clio will face some challenges as she sets out to renovate this property… surprisingly from someone closest to her. Now she simply has to get this new business up and running before her dream location turns into a nightmare she never expected. It’s a good thing she’s got lots of friends on her side… and maybe a bit of a love interest as well.

Love in the air, a mystery puzzle to solve and a dream to realize that is some of what you’ll find within Winter at Cedarwood Lodge. I enjoyed myself in this world full of interesting characters and tons of romance going on. I believe you’ll find an enjoyable holiday story with characters you’ll be cheering on to their happy ever afters.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Clio moves back home to Evergreen from Manhattan and buys a derelict hotel with a mystery. She starts restoring the building with a view to hold weddings and evnts as this is what she is good at. She has a strange relationship with her mother but all is revealed as the book goes on. The book explores relationships and what happens if you follow your heart. This is a good book to curl up with and is easy reading.
