I loved how this book made it clear that every person suffering with pain has to find their own personal way to deal with it. He draws from Buddhism, Native American and Celtic spirituality and what you can learn from observing nature.

Its really lovely to see a book about pain that doesn't tell the reader to try different things, but rather that the person should start to focus on themselves. That they should try to self-care, learn to protect thsemvels from stress and try to rest and recover because they need it. They body is in constant stress with the pain they are in and so its necessary to be mindful and open and that we can learn a lot from nature and how nature deals with illness and pain.

I am sure its not a book for everyone. Its not a book for someone that is looking for a quick fix or wants a specific therapy.

But its a book for everyone that has been suffering for a while and just needs a book to tell them that its okay to take it easier. that its okay to focus on yourself. its okay to learn what helps you feel better and focus on that, no matter what it is.

Worth reading and i think a must read for anyone that has pain!

Lately, I've been reading a lot of books on death and how families and patients react to it. With death, many time I've read comes pain management. And this book is another one in that line of books :)

What a wonderful book. I am a person who lives with severe, chronic pain. I absolutely loved this book. It seems to b written with love and good intent. It is informative and useful. A person living with pain must learn and adopt ways of living that reality with as much peace and positivity as possible. This book offers many approaches for this.

I am grateful to Net Galley, the author Michael Kearney and the publisher for giving me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
