Ransom in Rio by Theresa Lynn Hall is a book in the Passport to Romance series. At the beginning of this book, Lexi is coming to terms with the death of her brother after his funeral. But she has more questions than answers. Together with a private investigator, she begins to investigate and finds way more than she bargained for. This is a fun, fast read. You won't be able to put it down once you start! I highly recommend this as a fun summer or weekend read. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. These opinions are entirely my own.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. This book ended way too quickly for me. I would have loved to delve deeper into this budding Christian romance and feel more of the connection build between Bradyn and Lexi.

Ransom in Rio is a bit of a conundrum for me. It's got some romance and it's longer than a novella, but still feels like a light, fun summer read, except for the fact that it's got some danger and drama that comes with it. I enjoyed the mix, especially because it takes you to Rio de Janiero during Carnival (and I love books that make me feel like I'm traveling), but felt it could have used a bit more detail to help me feel like I was truly there amidst the glitz and glam, or dirt and filth of the slum.
What began as Lexi asking a PI to look into her brother's death turns into a fight for her own life and that of her PI's; all while feelings are slowly building between the two. A wonderful combo of a light romance and dangerous mystery.

Ransom in Rio is a romantic suspense with a twist.
After the death of her brother Lexi Ramos receives a package from him that is about to turn her world upside down. Lexi reaches out to a friend and meets with PI Braden McCoy. As he investigates her theory and family secrets are uncovered neither will know who they can trust. But when Lexi is put in danger and the truth is discovered Braden will risk everything to get her back even his own life.
This was a good short story and I will read more by this author

Ransom in Rio by Theresa Lynn Hall was a good book, I wish it had been longer. There was danger and mystery and romance. Lexi Ramos' brother dies in a boating accident, only she doesn't believe it was an accident. She hires Braydon McCoy an ex-navy seal turned private detective to find out what really happened. As he investigates he learns things about her families illegal activities and needs to decide if she is as innocent as she seems. Will keep you turning the page. I received this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion and am not required to give a positive review.
