Absolutely love this series. An emotional ride through out the book. Nikan had a lot of obstacles to achieve who he is now. He is the glue that kept the band together. He worked really hard at trying to prove to Jenny that he was a changed man.Looking forward to the next book.

Nikan Rebuilt is the third book in the Preload series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I personally think it is better to read them in order. It is a second chance romance that keeps you engaged throughout. I really enjoyed it.

Scarlett Cole has the ability combining romance with painful and informative subjects that always leave you thinking beyond books. “Nikan Rebuilt” is a story about love, family and a touch of what Indians went through during colonization.
Nikan has everything. He has fame, money and friends that feel like family. He was just a young man when he made his biggest mistake but that is something he will always regret. He hurt the love of his life for an impulse and his heart has never been the same since then.
Jenny has escaped a crazy father who murdered her mother and many more but she cannot escape her past. Nikan was the first man to show her love but suddenly he took it all away leaving her hurt and broken. After many years away from him, she is now back running a group home of boys in need. She wants to leave him behind but fate has other plans.
This is a second chance romance book and Nikan has made a huge error but the man really grovels. Although, I don’t know if I could forgive me, the author succeeds in making you feel sorry for him and wanting their having another go.
Jenny is such a strong girl. She is supportive, caring and her attitude in her work is amazing. I really understood her struggle to trust Nikan again but she is forgiving and you can see that she never got over him.
Nikan showed the biggest growth. He matured through the years and when he finds Jenny again, he shows another self. He is determined, thoughtful and sweet. He is the glue that connects the rock group he is in and he always supports everyone but in the process he lost himself. In the present though he makes the right steps to find what he truly wants and to win over Jenny. His words are really romantic and sometimes painful but real.
You can see what the characters from the previous books are up to and you will love that they are united. Preload is a group of rockers but in reality they are brothers. I cannot wait to read the last book in the series which I think will be great but raw.
This is a beautiful, heartfelt story about a broken couple who will heal through love. They might be damaged but sometimes you have to break a little so you can become stronger and whole again and this couple will do anything to find forgiveness and their happily ever after.

Ok I have read all Scarlet Cole's books but this one is my favorite. She outdid herself this time. I loved Jenny and Nikan and Scarlett writing was just unbelievable.
This was one of the best written second chance love stories I have ever read. I also liked the foreword in the book where Scarlett explains a little bit abou Nikan's character and Canada's indigenous people. Please read this book you won't be disappointed.
An ARC received form NetGalley for an honest review!

Holy moly, what a read! Heartbreaking and filled with hope Scarlett Cole will drag you and your feelings over the coals. Every time you think you can't take she'll give you a glimmer of hope.
An amazing story and I loved how she wove in Nikam's background.
I cannot wait to re-read the Second Circle and Preload books and I am desperate for Lennon's story.

This book is an emotional powerhouse. I knew it would be angsty to some degree because I've read the other books in this series, and I know that these wonderfully developed, realistic characters have experienced some incredible hardships. Still, the level of emotion in this one (not just the angst, but all the different emotions) stunned me. It felt like the emotion was dripping off the page as I read, and I devoured every bit of it. As I started reading and learned the truth behind what had separated Nik and Jenny years ago, I was agitated and figured that nothing would make me understand. I didn't think I'd end up liking the story. I'm glad I kept reading anyway because if I hadn't, I would have missed out on what turned out to be one of the best books I've read this year, and certainly now my favorite in the series. Ms. Cole is astounding. How she took such a touchy topic and turned it into such a beautiful, heartfelt read is amazing. I love Nik. I love Jenny. And I adore them together. This review doesn't even begin to do this book justice, and I don't think any review will. All I can say is that this book--this entire series--takes romance to a different level, and it is worthy of any romance reader's time and coveted book-buying budget.

A chance to read the next book in a series that I have devoured without such a long wait since the last one... um yes please!

This is the third book in Cole's Preload series and while it's not entirely essential that you have read the other two books before you start on this one, they would certainly give you a lot more background (something that, with characters this complex, can only be a good thing!)

Nikan is the oldest of the band, and he has looked after them since they first starting showing up, and his biggest regret is his lost love. Jenny has just moved back to town and was hoping she could avoid her ex... but no luck!

This is most definitely a tale of lost love and second chances and one that tugs on your heartstrings but Nikan (like the rest of the band) deserves his HEA.

The only bad thing about an ARC is that now there is an even longer wait before I can get another dose of Preload with Lennon's story!

This book was a second chance lovers dream. If you are like me and love to see old wounds slowly heal and for all the pain that two lost loves hide away comes to the surface and boil over before healing and learning to love again, then you are in for a treat!

Nikan and Jenny had a love for the ages when they were both in foster homes. They lived the hardest lives possible before they were even grown but it was going to be okay because they had each other. Then as they ages and he came to fame everything changed. Let me tell you why this is one of my absolute favorites by Scarlett Cole. Without giving away spoilers let me tell you that the subject matter is hard, their story is so full of pain that it is not an easy fix. But that is what I loved most about it. When Jenny arrives back in town she doesn’t easily welcome her lost love back into her life. They both have to work t become friends again before it ever goes anywhere else. It is that slow burn kind of love that just resonates in your soul and makes it impossible to put the book down.

NIkan Rebuilt is a book that even a week later has not left me. I am still thinking about it and the more I think on it the more I am in love with what the author gave us. So many books nowadays are written too safe which makes them all read so similar to me. But NIkan Rebuilt tackles problems often skimmed over and does so in a way that had me falling harder for Scarlett Cole than I already had. I love this entire series of standalones, but Nikan now holds a special place in my heart that is going to be hard to beat.
