I loved the author’s series Bourbon Street Boys and was looking forward to this new series.
Maybe because I am older, not a fan or rock stars, all the gals pregnant at the same time, a tad unrealistic, etc, I have to say I was disappointed.
The plot nor the characters held my attention nor did I care for them.
Because I have great respect fo this author, I have given it a 3 star.
I was gifted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Amber is book one in the brand new series, Red Hot Love, by Elle Casey. I love diving in to a new series by an author I adore. This one has a completely different feeling than her other books. It completely sets it apart. At first, I was a bit surprised. But the further I got into the book, the more I forgot about what I went in expecting and just enjoyed the story.

Amber Fields is twenty four years old and lives in central Maine on a communal farm called Glenhollow Farms. Amber was raised on the farm along with Emerald Collins and Rose Lancaster, all the same age. All three girls had different mothers who also lived on the farm. All the girls called all the women their “Mothers.” Some called the farm a “hippie commune.” Does wearing natural fibers, growing your own food and selling it at a farm stand, harvesting your own honey, make them hippies? Maybe in a sense. But all three girls were intelligent, loving women. They knew nothing of their fathers. Until the day a fancy lawyer showed up on their doorstep with his shiny shoes and equally shiny car, and a briefcase full of papers, offers from fathers they didn’t even know existed.

When the truth comes out, the girls realize their mothers haven’t told them the truth. Their fathers are members of a legendary 90’s rock band. But where have they been all their lives? Why didn’t they try to contact them before? When it becomes apparent that one of them will have to go to New York if they want any answers, Amber volunteers. She’s the most outgoing of the three. Just a quick flight in, tell the men just what they think of them showing up after all this time. Then right back home she will go. Only things didn’t exactly work out that way.

Tyler (Ty) Stanz is the only young member of the group, a replacement lead guitarist. Ty and Amber are off to a rocky start but there are sparks there, definite chemistry. And Ty is your textbook tortured, hot as heck, smoldering, moody, talented, did I say hot, rock star. Amber is a fixer. She has a gift for helping people find solutions. And she sees Ty as a challenge. To help him fix whatever is troubling him. Not to mention, she wouldn’t mind being able to spend a little more time with him.

When the band makes Amber an offer to stay for two weeks in New York to help them out, she sees it as an opportunity to get the answers she and her sisters crave about their fathers. And an opportunity to get to know Ty. It’s also a chance to see if she made a mistake staying on the farm after college. That maybe she is missing what the city has to offer. But this lifestyle is nothing like she could imagine, the paparazzi, the invasion of privacy, life in the spotlight. The sacrifice these men make to be able to play their music. Could she ever really get used to that?

“I don’t know where we’re going. But I’m looking forward to getting there. Something is happening between us, and it doesn’t feel all bad for a change.”

I did enjoy this book. What bothered me some is Amber’s naivety. She was homeschooled so had limited exposure to the world but she had been to college although it was never said where. But she did have some idea of how people outside her circle were. What I loved about Amber, though, was her ability to break through the iciest of exteriors. For instance her stoic driver. Her mission was to make him smile. To get him to engage with her and watching her at work was so adorable. Her demeanor was so cute and I laughed out loud more than once.

It really was fun watching Amber take New York by storm. Will I be continuing the series? Definitely, yes. Emerald’s story is next and I can’t wait to read it. One thing, though, is for some reason I have a huge interest in this lawyer, Mr. Lister. He is so buttoned up. I can’t remember if he is married or not. But I find myself wanting to know more about him. To get his story. So maybe I’ll get more of him in the coming books.

“Buckle your seat belts, boys. Hurricane Amber is about to make landfall.”

Amber and her sisters have grown up on a farm with their mothers and embraced a hippie commune style. Then one day their world is torn apart when they find out who their fathers are. Fun romance of a small town girl going to New York for the first time and learning to cope.

I loved Amber, the woman was ballsy, "...when I realize how much it pushes my boobs up, I stop. Out of the corner of my eye I see him staring. “Keep your eyeballs in your head where they belong,” I warn." I just can't help but love Ty the man recognizeshis own faults, “because. When I’m acting like a ***k, you need to hold me to it. Don’t let me get away with it." Amber's sisters were entertaining all on their own and I hope that they too get a story of their own. I enjoyed the heck out of this book, and I'm really looking forward to more.

To be honest this book was not for me. I had high hopes as I loved Shine not burn once, but this story grated my nerves.

First, I thoughy it totally unbelievable that 3 women (groupies of a rock band who were shared by the members) would all get pregnant around the same time! They decided to leave the band and raise their daughters very sheltered. Until one day someone turns up with papers from the band and they have to tell their (grown) daughters the truth. One of the girls, Amber, travels to New York to confront the band.

The hero of the book is not my kind of book boyfriend (ahum, the eyeliner...) and even though there are some funny interactions they are - again - not believable.

Elle Casey can write, but I don't like the story in this one . This is ofcourse just my opinion and taste differs.

I requested and received an ARC via Netgalley and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to have an interesting story about the band in addition to the main characters romantic link. I am looking forward to reading more in the series and getting to know all the different characters better.

I AM HOOKED. I am currently stalking Elle Casey all over her social media accounts and Goodreads for more information about future books in the Red Hot Love series.

Bottom line - I seriously freaking LOVED this book. I devoured it in one sitting and I thought Amber was an addictive start to Elle’s new series. Between the characters (who are fabulous), to their unfolding drama (which is fun and captivating) and then their budding romances - a reader cannot ask for more from a book. I am swooning!!

Anyway, here’s the deal. The family situation or the boundaries that normally define a family is blurred in Amber. Raised with three moms and two sisters, Amber’s home life has been unconventional and wicked sheltered but incredibly loving. The only thing missing has been the fathers who donated the sperm to make the girls.

Finding out the truth and then meeting the rock star(s) who might have fathered her leaves Amber’s world turned upside down. This is all coupled with the injection of Ty - the HOT new guitarist in the band - into her mix and you’ve got one fast-paced and enticing romantic drama. It’s an emotional journey and it’s one that I just could not put down.

I adored Amber and Ty so I cannot wait to read the other sister’s books. I know the rest of this series is going to be as amazing as this first book was! Don’t miss a moment of the fun! Get your copy now.

"Buckle your seat belts, boys. Hurricane Amber is about to make landfall."

Being a lover of rockstar romance, I couldn't pass up Amber, especially since it was written by Elle Casey. I was introduced to her writing back in 2013 when I read Shine Not Burn. I still remember laughing my way through that amazing book and that made me excited to read this one.

What makes this rocker romance unique is that the band members are past their prime. Amber is 24 yrs old when she learns that her father is a famous rockstar in the band called Red Hot. She's been exposed to their music her whole life since they are her mother's favorite band. She knew every word to all of their songs, but she didn't know which one of the band members was her father.

Amber was raised in a hippie commune in Maine. She's a beekeeper and sells honey at the farmer's market. New York is not what she's used to, but that doesn't stop her from heading there to get some answers from her absentee father.

What an adventure Amber had when she arrived in Manhattan. I found it very amusing to be in her head listening to her internal dialogue as she's exposed to the crowded busy city full of rude people. I admired her determination and bravery as she overcame her insecurities, standing up for herself when faced with obstacles in her path. Her fix-it personality was endearing as she bonded with strangers, earning smiles from even the most reluctant. I found myself cheering her on as she tackled each obstacle, and won over each person, especially the sexy guitarist, Ty.

I was very curious to learn the story of Amber's conception. I was just as anxious for answers as she was. And when I met the aging rockers, I kinda fell for them too. I could understand how her mother was unable to resist their charm.

And then there's Ty. He's the youngest member of the band, the replacement guitarist. All he cares about is the music. He was raised on Red Hot music, so it was a dream come true to become a member of one of his favorite bands. He knows he has to take the bad with the good, but recently there's been a lot more bad than good. He doesn't complain, but Amber sees between the lines, what he's not saying. His tortured soul calls out to her, and she wants to fix-it.

I'm all for Amber fixing everyone and everything. I was ready to jump in and lend a hand. And there were a few that needed a foot, where the sun doesn't shine. I got caught up in the story, invested in the outcome, yearning for things to go my way. There are so many colorful characters that had me smiling, wanting to spend more time with them. I'm very excited that this is just the first book in a series so I have more #RedHotLove to look forward to. The line forms here...

This was an interesting twist on a rock star romance. The story started out as quite original and I really enjoyed that here was a unique premise for a romance novel. The heroine, Amber Fields, is a self-described “hippy chick” who has been raised on a farm in remote Maine by three women and their daughters. At the beginning of the book they find out that the three women’s fathers were members of a rock band for which their mothers had been groupies for two years sleeping with various members so that when they all became pregnant no one knew who the fathers were. All of this, the mothers had kept secret from their daughters and from the fathers. And now they find out and Amber decides to travel to New York City and refuse their offer of money.

Amber has never been to a big city and she finds herself questioning whether she made the right decision to live life on their farm instead of exploring a business career after she graduated college. She makes contact with the band’s young lead guitar player who is, apparently, extremely hot and wears lots of eye make-up - not my thing, but maybe it’s hot in a Johnny Depp sort of way.

She’s not your usual heroine and Ty is not your usual hero. The three fathers aren’t what she expected and, as she learned more about what happened to convince her mothers (that’s how she refers to them) to spend a quarter-century on a farm in Maine, she realizes that there is more to the story than she first thought.

For about 90% of the book, I was really enjoying following Amber through New York and her getting to know Ty and the band. And then it all got resolved within a few pages with an epilogue tacked on. There were complications set up in the book and they all got brushed aside without much discussion at all.

SPOILER Alert - Amber goes from being this naive and innocent hippy chick to being able to a career making over a top rock band with no problem. She is able to have a relationship with the famous guitarist without any resolution of how she was dealing with the paparazzi. The problems that Ty had been having with the rest of the band and the fan base - problems that Amber diagnosed from one conversation in the bathroom - are all waved away without much description of what happened after Amber identified the problem. Their problems writing new new music all seemingly disappear. Ty’s problems with his family are ignored except for the hint that, perhaps, his younger brother will feature in an upcoming book in the series. The reunion between the three mothers and the three fathers is skipped over. It’s almost as if the author had this fun set-up and decided to leave the resolution to all the plot complications on the cutting-room floor. Maybe we’ll learn more in future books in the series about the two other sisters, but it would have been nice to have had some of that resolution in the book that first set out the conflicts.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Book 1 in a brand new series following the ageing rockers from 90s band, Red Hot, along with the 3 women who used to travel the country with them in their early days, and their 3 daughters. Amber, like her 2 sisters was brought up by their 3 mothers on a communal farm in Maine, not knowing or caring who their fathers are. That is until one day a lawyer comes a knocking and blows their whole world inside out. Amber volunteers to go to the ‘big city’ and tell their fathers what they think of them, unfortunately things don’t quite go as planned and Amber ends up staying longer than intended as she embarks on a journey of self discovery. I loved the story, the writing was excellent, so many laugh out loud moments, and with Tyler Stanz as the love interest it was a win win for me. I loved it, and I am so looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

4.5 Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Stars
* * * *1/2 Spoiler Free
OMGoodness... This was a really wonderful read...and as my title suggested, our main character Amber... has serious touches of "Kimmy Schmidt". For those who may not know what this reference means... It is a show on Netflix about a woman who was isolated from the modern world and then is thrust out there and having to adapt and adjust to Everything...

Now that is not exactly what this is about...However, our main character Amber is one of 3 women who were raised off the grid by their mother on a farm in Maine. They had 3 moms...3 girls. Each girl born to each of the moms and so a family, sisters were made...These three had no dads...and the moms gave them enough love to raise strong smart women.

Now they are in their early 20's and run a Honey Farm. One sister is a Veterinarian of sort... a natural talent with no degree who takes care of strays and the community animals. The other is an artist but lately hasn't been painting like she usually does and then there is Amber.

Amber was always the most outspoken and headstrong of the sisters. She went to the local college, got a business degree and took a moment to see if she was meant to go out into the world and leave the farm and Honey business.

Amber thought and thought on it... but decided her place was with her sisters and moms; she was needed to run the bees and business end of the farm... as there wasn't really anyone else to do it. The girls would go to the farmers markets selling the honey and each of them were content...

The mothers were women who loved their daughters and did what was best for them...

Then one day a man with a briefcase shows up at the door insisting to talk with the daughters. At first, Amber the mouthpiece for the girls, slams the door in his face. Finally after much back and forth, Amber opens the door and he comes in. The lawyer delivers information which catches the girls by surprise. Stunned...

This is the set up and I could give you a bit more without spoiling this...but I will refrain as there isn't even a blurb up yet.

What I will tell you is this was thoroughly entertaining and worth the read. Elle Casey has taken an idea that was so smart and well done I wondered if there were any other stories out there that approached this subject. The humor and heart was front and center... and the connections between the sisters, moms, others and love match worked.

What I can say is this story made me think about the times it described and women who experienced them...the decisions made and how it impacted all of them.

Elle Casey has a great series on her hands as there are two other sisters so I am looking to their stories too. Don't let this vague review turn you off. This will have you face palming and giggling all at the same time.

Cute story. I want to read more. The story seemed a little insta-lovey, but it worked.

This is my second favorite book from Elle Casey. My first and top 10 book of all time is still Shine Not Burn. That book is hands down one of my all time favorites to this day. But Amber is a close second. This is a unique story about ..... well I don't want to give to away.... but this is truly a unique storyline that I have never read before. That being said, I loved it. It was unique and different and hysterical. I loved Amber and who she was. Never sorry for the way she acted or spoke, but also real and caring.

I am still laughing at pats of this book! LOVED it Elle Casey!!
