From the description: "There are many reasons for not buying this book. Here are some of them: 1. You are a sensible, mature adult. 2. You have better things on which to spend your money. 3. You are a brain surgeon. 4. You are an admirer of Donald Trump. 5. You never lose your socks. 6. You have never had a sexual relationship with a vacuum cleaner. If, however, none of these apply to you, then you must buy this book, which will be available in all good bookshops (well, maybe one or two bad ones). There is no history, opera, or mythology this time, but there is some biochemistry (and brain surgery). In Ian’s traditional style, Stupid Poems 13 features a unique combination of highbrow interests and a childish sense of humour. This collection of poems should appeal to anyone with appropriate interests and a sense of humour."

The book is exactly as it is described, and for that reason it borders on irrationally amusing. Each poem follows some form of poetic guideline so that it qualifies as a poem, though they are often truly awful...hence the name STUPID POEMS 13. The topics in some were, to me, boring, but "Alternative Facts" and "The Russians Have Hacked My Computer" both amused me thoroughly. Poetry is subjective, so even in the best of cases, it's hard to judge this too harshly. But knowing in advance that it was going to be awful poetry made it all that much better.

This book is exactly what it sounds like. They're stupid poems about nothing and everything! There are rhyming poems about unused desktop icons, the 2016 presidential race, vacuum cleaners, toads and more.

My favorite poem is called "The Sock Monster".

Ok... So thanks to Netgalley I've just finished the Arc that will be published in January 28 titled:

[BC]'Stupid Poems 13' by Ian Vannoey

and to summarise it, in my opinion, it's a collection of stupid poems.

Some people may consider them funny but I didn't even find anything funny in them. There is a 'poem' about the middle names of famous people that basically enlists middle names of people. There is a poem about love with vacuum cleaner and a poem that each verse starts with different letter of the alphabet but makes no sense as a whole. I know that 'Stupid poems' were published and read by some people but if other volumes are similar to this one I will pass.
