I found the jokes relatable but didn't find it actually funny. I loved reading it but it definitely isn't something I would buy myself. |

Sarah's Scribbles are highly relatable for all those daily moments that have you thinking "Am I the only one?" Herding Cats keeps up with this tradition and then some. Perhaps my favorite part of this volume is her short essay at the end of the book addressing the difficulties of being an artist (but it really applies to anyone who creates original works) in today's world where the "real world" and the internet are so thoroughly intertwined. It's upfront about the emotional turmoil but reminds us that we must go out and make things anyway. I will definitely be re-reading this multiple times! |

Maybe...if I stop watching these images when Andersen post it, this will be as good as was the first one...maybe -RTC- |
I love Sarah's art! I follow her on instagram, so when I give given the chance to review her upcoming comic (book) I was so stoked! This is a collection of her comic strips, many of which have already been posted to her instagram, so you pretty much know what to expect. I will say, I thought there would be more cat content but I still loved this book. The way Sarah draws and deals with topics like anxiety brings them to such a relatable point of view, I often find myself giggling and then screaming EXACTLY! Thank you to Netgally for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. |

Funny and informative. Love the characters. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book. |
I love Sarah's comics because they are so hilariously relatable, and this collection is no exception. The first half of this is a collection of comic strips, and the second half briefly details the artist's journey into becoming a professional artist, plus advice for young artists.. I'd recommend this to anyone that is a fan of Sarah's work. |
These comic strips were very fun and interesting, as usual, and while I did enjoy these, I can never bring myself to give them five stars. Yes they were funny and relatable, but the same goes for almost every other collection Andersen has done in the past. Yes, I did really enjoy how this did end up talking about how the internet isn't the same place it was before, and how hard it is to find a space where you can just relax and be yourself without anyone judging you, but it still doesn't change the fact that while I do love these, they offer anything else that appeals to me. They don't make me think, and I feel as though they could. |
I always enjoy Sarah Scribble's comics. They are fun and relate-able. Compared to the last two compilations, I was a little disappointed. While there is some original content in Herding Cats, there are a lot of comics that appeared in previous books. I noticed this in here second book as well, but just sort of didn't care. The amount is larger this time though (or at least it feels larger). I was also kind of confused about the direction of the book. At first it was all comic strips, but around page 80, it suddenly gained a narrative. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but maybe it should have been put at the front of the book or organized better? 3/5 stars for me. I'll definitely check out her future publications. Also, I can't wait to see the final product! |
Another funny and touching scribble from Sarah. I think I will be buying copies as graduation gifts to my daughter and her friends, Good advice for artists |
This is Andersen's typical outing on animals, anxiety, therapy, and creativity. As always, she is hilarious and adorable. The bonus this time around is her meditation on wading through the hatred that the Internet spews and making art despite that. She is fun and thought-provoking. |

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love this artist and these comics. I laugh at almost all of the comics. I relate to sooo many of the comics also. They are so funny, they touch on real life, the artist just gets it. I cannot wait until the next book and this one isn't even published yet. If you haven't read any of these books/comics yet, what is wrong with you? Run, don't walk to you local books store or computer and start. You will not regret it! |
The first half of this book was a collection of cute, funny and relatable cartoon strips. I feel like they probably work better online, but once you've seen them online and become a fan, I can see why you'd buy the book. It'd make a great gift! One problem I had was that in some strips, there's some kind of blurring effect done on a computer which my eyes had trouble adjusting to, possibly because I was reading an ebook. Still, I'd prefer it to all be hand drawn. The second half of the book is a mixture of cartoon strips and typed prose about being creative and making art. It felt like it would have been best saved for its own book and entirely drawn out as a comic. That would have meant more space for extra cartoon strips in this book! |

I didn't love this one and it makes me sad. I love Sarah Andersen's work - she speaks to a particular part of myself. I can't say that the reason I didn't love this one is because it was bad - it just didn't connect to me. It felt too angsty, too negative. There were moments when I really laughed but it wasn't as often as I have with her stuff in the past. I did appreciate her personal essays at the end about being an artist but I didn't love them. I'm thinking that, perhaps, I'm just further on my journey than those who will love this book. |
I absolutely loved this collection. All the comics are hilariously relatable, as if she’s seen into my own thoughts, but I also really appreciated the advice contained in the book for artists. Even though I’m not an artist I found it helpful, and hopeful, and can’t imagine it’ll be a great read for a lot of people. |
I have never sat down and read a full book by Sarah Andersen. I have read comics here and there as they pop up online, but never sought them out. When I saw that she had won a GoodReads award for one of her books, I wasn't surprised. Her work is generally really funny and feels so familiar. This book had a few comics that I have seen online, but a great deal of them were new to me. Pretty sure my coworkers thought I was nuts when I kept laughing and by the end I had snorted at least three times. Very funny. Andersen understands my love of animals and my inability to handle my own anxiety. A wonderful addition to the world of comics for people with anxiety and who are introverted. What I really appreciated was the last bit of the book was dedicated to building up other artists. Anderson goes into how it can be hard to show your work online and that even she still has issues with it. It was wonderful. |

Love reading her cartoons on FaceBook. Great to see it compiled into a book. Looking forward to more. |
I was so excited when I heard Sarah Andersen was publishing another "Sarah's Scribbles". They are so much fun and relatable. In "Hearding Cats", Sarah takes us once again through a series of cute little comics showcasing the most fun, awkward and truthful situations in life. I fully appreciate this books, they make me smile and never fail to cheer me up. It ended way too fast but I'm in such good mood right now that even that can't bother me! Also, can we just look at this cover and title? I'm completely in love, purple and cats, it's great! |
Wonderful, funny, honest, quirky, authentic, neurotic, introverted portraits of what goes on in women's heads. Did I say hilarious? Now of I have to read the rest of her books. |
I nearly screamed when I saw a new Sarah's Scribbles book for review. Screamed with pure joy. I looove her sense of humor and her comics are so relatable in anyone's daily life. She made me laugh so hard and think at the same time and I couldn't count how many times I said “That's so me” while reading this. Once again, Sarah Andersen, can we be friends already? *ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review* |
