This one was hard for me to rate. I had to take a break after reading before I wrote my review to get my thoughts together.

This book hit on some good topics that should be discussed in YA. I won't go into what those topics actually were because it would be a spoiler. I did call how most things would play out but it didn't take away from me enjoying it.

I enjoyed this one a bit more than I thought would. The romance between Quentin and Jade was done really well. I loved how Quentin wasn't afraid to really pursue Jade and actually put his feelings out there. It was quite refreshing since you don't get this all the time in YA.

The reason I couldn't make my review higher was because I feel like this book really needed an epilogue or at least another chapter. It ended quite abruptly. I really needed to see further more into how this ended. It would have made a world of a difference.

Despite my issues, I do recommend this book! It was sweet and would be a great summer read to have.

A very appealing YA novel. I could see the writting on the wall when it came to Quentin's secret and I kept wondering how everything was going to work out. No spoilers, but it all fell into place beautifully for Jade.
Quentin was mature and fantastic and I hope my daughters find someone just like him!

I read this book in one night, actually in a few hours. It was a cute summer romance between quirky, worldly Jade and sweet Quentin, the boy next door who is harboring a secret he doesn't immediately tell Jade, while pursuing her pretty relentlessly. They end up being a cute couple but I figured out the story in the middle somewhere, what was up with Quentin so I wasn't surprised at all. I think for a summer teen romance, its a good read, with interesting characters and a nice story. Nothing new though and nothing makes it stand out from other teen romances I have read.....

There's nothing ground breaking about Almost Impossible, but it's a sweet summer contemporary. The characters are fun, and quirky. The writing is good and enjoyable. I really loved Jade; she was strong, fierce and independent. Once she allowed herself to open up she realized how much she was missing out on. Quentin was the hot, boy next door with a secret. Their bond was really fun to read about and to see it grow as they learned to let their guards down. I really enjoyed Almost Impossible it's a perfect summer beach read!

I received a copy of ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Five stars and here's why:

ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE is a fantastic summer read. No joke. I got sucked into the story right away. Nicole Williams delivers a sweet yet sassy story that is so hard to put down. The pacing is great, the characters realistic, and when Jade and Quentin meet for the first time, there’s chemistry in spades with the snark and sass that make a contemporary YA book rock. I made the mistake of starting this book before bed and now I’m suffering from a wicked book hangover!

I love the premise. The enemies to lovers is one of my favorite plots, because the relationship is full of spark and snark and so the author can really run with the plot and characterization. **fans herself** Jade and Quentin surf between the friend zone and attraction for their own valid reasons. Both Quentin and Jade have to navigate their responsibilities with also being a teenager torn between testing authority and towing the line. When they hang out, you get the impression that fate has thrown these two together for a reason. There’s a plot twist I saw coming, but it’s the stuff that makes for a great book because Jade and Quentin must come to terms with how they’ll navigate life, responsibilities, and their relationship. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE will have you laughing, crying, banging your head against a wall, and then laugh some more.

If you love hella-hot guys, savvy girls, and a snarky romance, then this book is for you! Highly recommend!

This review appears in issue 1 of Romantic Intentions Quarterly, out April 3.
_______

After growing up on the road with her rock star mother, Jade must adjust to life with her fusspot aunt for the summer. She must also adjust to her job at the local pool, and adjust to the new feelings aroused by lifeguard, Quentin. But Quentin has a secret, and Jade can never be sure he is really what he seems. An absorbing YA summer read in which you can almost feel the heat and taste the ice cream Jade spends her days scooping.

I absolutely loved this book! This is the perfect quick easy summer read. Quentin and Jade = LOVE!

Surprisingly, I do think this book could have been a bit longer. The pacing was great until the end, which felt a bit rushed. There are times where Jade brushes over events. If we say them happening instead of being told that they happened, it would have helped with that pacing. And, having more time with characters like Aunt Julie, the cousins, and Quentin's family. I did see the twist coming, but that did not deter my enjoyment at all.

This book is compared to Sarah Dessen's works and I completely agree. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a cute summer YA romance.

This is a fabulous novel and I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did! Sometimes, teen romances can seem off to me as I am not a teen, but this one was PERFECT. I loved the push and pull between the characters, the reality of the story, and entire plot as a whole. I highly recommend it.

A few words to describe this book: cute, innocent, quiet, small

In other words, the perfect summer beach read. It sorta read like a Nicholas Sparks Jr. book. lol Sparks for Teens. Somebody trademark that, quick. You know how in all of Sparks' books, it's pretty quiet and then there's that one twist that you don't see coming? Same story here. I did not see that twist coming at all.

I think that the cover of this book is absolutely perfect for the story. It looks just like how I pictured Jade in my mind. Also, super cute. However, I don't think the title makes much sense with the story. Nothing that happened in here was anywhere near "almost impossible." It was pretty much your average YA contemporary.

The immature banter between the two love interests was a bit irritating at times. Also, it was kind of random that BOTH of the girl's parents were rock stars in separate bands. Now that's almost impossible. lol

One more beef I had with the story was the contradictions. On the one hand, Jade was supposedly a wild hippie child who stayed out late at night and made friends everywhere she went. Yet, the mom says that she reads too much and doesn't have a life at all and makes her do more outside of her comfort zone. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You can't be a friendly and independent girl but also a loser shut in all at once. I don't think that was super well thought out.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc.

What I loved: This was light and fun. A perfect summer read. Clean and easy to recommend for various ages!
What I liked: The author's writing style is easy to read and felt natural.
What I hated: Can't say I hated anything about this one.

This is an easy to recommend book for YA readers who a looking for summer romance reads. Lots of talk about being responsible and doing the right thing. Sure the story was fairly predictable, it was just a nice, light easy read.

I chose this based on the authors it was compared to and I'm glad I did. It was a fully satisfying teen romance. Jade grows and learns about herself. There are enough hints that the reader can guess Quentin's secret and it is clever how it connects to Jade's own life.
I can't wait for Nicole William's next book.

I loved this book. I think this is a great read for high school kids. It's about the challenges life can bring and how we shouldn't be quick to judge. It was a fun read and would love to read more from the author.
