Overall I liked this story. Rory, injured after a bad bull-riding accident, comes back to Marietta, Montana for Christmas. Meeting up with Sadie, with his keys to the rental property, the sparks start flying. The only thing, or two things, that I struggled with is the quick pace that Rory goes from "no commitment" to wanting to marry. Also, the tragedy of a few years back, when most of his family is murdered, is mentioned, but not enough details to make it explain a lot of his actions, and hers of course. Not sure if this is covered more in another book, but it would help to give more details here too. Other than that, I wanted to keep reading to the end, and I enjoyed the HEA. Fun story and series.

This is a Christmas romance. Rory meets the woman that has been showing up at his bull competitions for years. Rory has avoided going home for years now. Most of his family was killed at their home. He’s struggled for years with their deaths. Sadie was raised by a single mom who recently passed away.
I enjoyed the storyline. At times it was a little slow for me but overall very good.

4.5 stars.
This book was way better than I was expecting and not at all the standard romance novel I thought it would be. The premise of the story, Sadie’s obsession or “impractical dream” about Rory, our lovely tortured hero, was a hard one to tackle, but the author, Jane Porter, constructed a beautiful tale about two mature people with great chemistry.
I loved the characters’ voices, both hardened by grief and tragedies (Rory), but, at the same time, displaying an innocence and earnestness that are captivating.
The story flows naturally, the characters grow and communicate, talk about their feelings and doubts, and the dialogue is excellent.
This is really a lovely and compelling story, intensely romantic without being sappy, and a pleasure to read.

Miracle On Chance Avenue reminded me why I love Jane Porter’s stories so much. This is a small town contemporary Christmas story set in gorgeous Marietta, Montana. Second in the Love On Chance Avenue series (Take Me Cowboy, the first in the series, won a RITA), this story works fine as a stand-alone.
I’ve come to know the Douglas family over the years as one lovely story after another has taken me to Marietta. This is Rory’s story. Oldest of the Douglas children, he was the one to discover his family murdered, and it is the heartache and anger associated with that loss. Sadie Mann’s life was also affected on that day. It was attending her birthday party sleepover that saved the life of Rory’s sister McKenna and every birthday after that she’s has relived the horror. Ever since then she also worshipped McKenna’s golden brother Rory.
This story is filled with so much love and pain. It drew me in and I ached for both Rory and Sadie as they grew closer while facing the agony of their past. Perfectly paced, the story had me holding my breath at times and sighing with relief at others. There’s not much more I can say about it except “Just Perfect”!

Rory Douglas has coped with the loss of his family by riding bulls. Rarely returning home to Maritta Montana he finally comes face to face with the woman who has been showing up at his events all over the country. Sadie Mann has been interested in Rory since the day he dropped his sister McKenna off for her birthday sleep over. With Rory hurt and in town for Christmas can the two build a connection or will the past come back to haunt threm?

I absolutely loved this book. The characters qualites were so real and relatable. It was the perfect blend of love and loss for me to just fall in love with the story. It’s definitely one i will read over and over again.

If you are looking for a Holiday story that will make you laugh...and cry...look no further. This is a wonderful story of two people who have been connected for so long finally finding each other. It is a story of one, whose life is so full of tragedy, he didn't care about his life and took chances so he didn't have to feel or remember the past. It's about the woman who has loved him for more than 20 years, whose heart ached for the tragedy he and his family faced, and her connection to it. The woman who loved him, despite not having spoken a word to him.
She was his Angel, despite never having spoken to her. And, though he doesn't realize it at the time, of course she would be from Marietta, the one place that he loves, but hates returning to because of the memories and how much the people really do care.
This is the perfect story for Christmas. It is coming home, finally facing the past, and realizing that it is time to embrace life and the future.
This is such a well-written and emotional story that will stay with you long after you read the last word.

I enjoy every visit to Marietta and this most recent is one of my favorites. Jane Porter's Miracle on Chance Avenue hooks us into Rory and Sadie's story. Sadie is settling in to her new life in Marietta, not expecting to cross paths with Rory, whose past keeps his visits scarce. I loved the emotion that JP wrenches with her characters, laughter, love, and pain. Miracle on Chance Avenue will have you feeling the gamut of emotions and have you pulling for Rory and Sadie.

Loved this book. Another winner by Porter and what a continuation. So much change and happiness that I was smiling a lot. So glad she got the guy. Didn't want it to end.

Welcome back to Marietta, Montana. More than twenty years ago, the Douglas family was the victim of unspeakable tragedy, leaving three children without their parents and other siblings. Rory is the oldest and that tragedy shaped him and his choices. It also tied him to Sadie, only he doesn't know it. Or does he? The mystery woman who was at all his rodeos for more than two years, suddenly is right in front of him when he goes home to Marietta. Miracle on Chance Avenue is about how Rory and Sadie deal with both the past and the present and how to make their way into the future. It's a great story about connections - those you can just feel inside, those you don't know you have, and those you want to build on. These are people you cheer for on their way to their happy ever after. This is the second book in the Love on Chance Avenue books but reads as a standalone. You can read about Rory's sister, McKenna, in the Kidnapped Christmas Bride, part of the Taming of the Shennans series. Jane Porter fans and fans of the Marietta, Montana stories, will enjoy this one.

Sadie and Rory have both been drawn together like magnets for years. Sadie has loved him from afar and Rory knows she's his muse. One Christmas, their paths cross by chance or fate. Sadie tries to resist him, but it's hard to fight a love that just grows stronger. He offers to help her fulfill her dream, but she says no. She knows there's a part of their mutual past he's unaware of and it haunts her. Till he finds out and his anger combined with her guilt drives a wedge between them. The love is real and true, and a snowstorm threatens to keep them apart, but Rory is determined to find her...love is worth fighting for and it's worth the wait. A wonderful Christmas romance with love, forgiveness, and a HEA!

What an engaging read, Rory Douglas has returned to Marietta and revisited the Family ranch where that tragic night he had lost most of his family.
And there’s Sadie Mann, his sisters friend and she has adored him since that tragic night which was her thirteenth birthday, and she has spun a dream of him, that she lives and breathes every night and day of her life.
I loved their story and both of their characters and all Sadie’s angst and the overwhelming steps Rory takes to try to get past his grief. And of course all the heart warming Christmas stuff that’s taking place. And without giving anything away I loved the ending that didn’t leave me hanging.

Miracle on Chance Avenue by Jane Porter is a unique story with a complex plot tat seemed simple when I first started reading it. I remember thinking what a unique way for two people to meet but is it realistic. In view of the events happening over 20 years earlier which come to light as the story progresses, it is realistic even if it is improbable. Rory and Sadie are likable, good together. However, there are contradictions in their thoughts and actions that work themselves out quickly.

While it is the second of the Chance Series stories that involve the less fortunate people of Marietta, by marriage the wealthier Sheenan family is part of the story. Still it is a stand-alone Christmas novel with loose connections to The Kidnapped Christmas Bride. Also for those who wish to know more about the Douglas tragedy, I would recommend The Lost Sheenan’s Bride in which one character formulates a hypothesis as to what happened that evening.

I always love returning to Marietta, Montana - one of my favorite fictional towns. The Douglas family has a tragic past and Rory has a hard time coming home as a result. Sadie has long loved him and even followed him on the rodeo tour but has never told him how she feels or the connection she shares with his tragedy. This is an insta-love story years in the making. Sadie and Rory came together a little too quickly but it was definitely a sweet holiday romance. I also would have liked to see Rory and Sadie spend some time with McKenna and Trey and see Rory meet his baby niece for the first time.

Miracle on Chance Avenue by Jane Porter, a great addition to the Love on Chance Avenue series. I've read books by this author in the past and this book didn't disappoint me. Sweet, heart-warming and a great holiday read. I especially enjoyed reading about the two of the main characters Rory and Sadie, how they each had their past own issues to deal with but they were still able to come together. I look forward to reading more in this series in the future and more books by Jane Porter.

The Miracle on Chance Avenue is a fun, enjoyable and fast read.

Rory and Sadie are both well written and extremely likable characters. Their relationship was a little bit insta-love on Rory's part, but not to the extent that it made their romance seem unbelievable or even unlikely. I think Rory just recognized a good thing when he found it.

Sadie did seem a little borderline fruit loops in the beginning but that impression got quickly left behind once I got into the story a little bit.

Overall, this is a very enjoyable romance with well written main and secondary characters. I will definitely read the first book in the series now and any future books in the series, as well.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance, especially western romance fans.

I received and ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Loved this story! It's a fantastic story of going home, facing the past as hard as it is, and finding that one person who has always known and loved you no matter what. Rory and Sadie are great characters and seeing them get their HEA was awesome. Definitely put this one on the must read list. I highly recommend it.

An emotional rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. Rory's pain was so palpable that I found myself in tears numerous times. Ms Porter's exemplary writing created in him a troubled sole who had finally stopped running from his pain...he recognized in Sadie a woman who could actually help him heal. Her feistiness and strength capture first his attention then his heart. How they had longed for each, in vastly different ways, was both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

You could actually feel Sadie's longing and desire to know the larger than life Rory who she'd loved more than half her life. Then there was Rory's curiosity and captivation for a woman he didn't even know. The author wrote each of them with such realism that it was like being witness first hand to their discoveries of each other.

Along with sharp wit and a smart dialog, never have I been so moved and swung from tears to laughter within a sentence...it was so easy to lose myself in these two characters who captured my heart. Rory and Sadie's story was both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Ms Porter should be commended for creating such lifelike characters.

An awesome Christmas story on all about taking chances. Sadie has one thing that she wants accomplished for the next year and that is to become a mom. She has always had a secret crush on Rory, an ex bull rider. In fact she use to follow him on the circuit. Rory has returned to Marietta to check on some property he owns, he does not like Marietta due to painful childhood memories. He soon recognizes Sadie from the girl that will follow him. Sadie tells him her story. He now decides he wants to marry Sadie. Now only to convince Sadie of his plans.

Great characters that I loved. I so enjoyed how Rory came over his painful memories. The magic of Marietta at Christmas is just perfect. I wish it was a real town. I highly recommend this book.
