This book was definitely emotionally-charged. I was intrigued by the characters and found myself blowing right through the story. The author does a superb job of alternating viewpoints of the mother and the daughter, as well as time periods; present and 1970s along with Beirut vs. US. Nothing was confusing; it all flowed very well. The plot moved quickly and was resolved in the end; all the while tearing at your heart strings, especially if you are a mom. All of this makes it a 5 star book for me.

Nothing quite like the first chapter in a book throwing you for a loop and making your head spin. Dina Silver has a way of sucking you in to the story by ending almost every chapter with a cliff hanger. I didn’t want to put it down

There were a few parts that were a bit far fetched but not enough to sway me from the story. I don't want to discuss here what I found a bit unbelievable because I don't want to give any spoilers. I found this to be a quick easy read that kept me engaged from the beginning.

And last but not least the cover is stunning.

I received an advance reader copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
