It seems as if every kid goes through a comedian phase, where they love to ask riddles and tell jokes. And it seems as if the worse the joke is, the funnier it is. We’ve given it a whole name: Dad jokes. Dad jokes, knock knock jokes, riddles, wordplay, and puns. It’s all fun and all funny. These books will give your little comedian a whole new repertoire. And they manage to avoid the potty humor genre!

I mean it is a book about bad dad jokes, so yeah it fit that bill. A lot of cheesy jokes that some make you cringe they are so dumb, but who hasn't heard those coming out of their dad's mouth? It just didn't wow me though.

The type of jokes that make you groan and roll your eyes, dad jokes are the best kind and this book did not disappoint!

This is a very punny joke book that will appeal to dads and non-dads alike, so long as they are of the joke-loving variety. I think that my students (all ages) would love this book, too.

I love puns and cheesy dad jokes. This book is great quick read for anyone else who does, too. Just wish there would have been more.

This is my first book that I’ve ever read from the Humor section and I have enjoyed it. I will look for more books by this author.

There were some typos (“why” was used instead of “what” and sometimes words were missing.) I’ve only heard a few of these jokes before, but most were kinda lame. Usually, I love lame jokes, but these were even too bad for me.

A good collection of bad jokes with frequent puns, a nice layout, and illustrations to boot. Not something to read all the way through, but a good reference book for those who need it. I don't think these will be new to people who love this type of stuff.

a copy of this book was provided through NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Corney and cheesy, this is a book of some of the punny dad jokes that is not for the faint of heart. From play on words, to bad puns to just bad dad jokes. There were some laugh out loud jokes and some groan out loud jokes. Perfect for any dad or otherwise joke impaired person to enjoy.

I've always been one to try things out. I like humor books, so even though this wasn't my usual read, I decided to pick it up.

True to its word, the jokes did make me cringe. Like every page I turned, I cringed at how awful the jokes were. The only time I didn't react that way was when I didn't get the joke at all. Occasionally it did get out a small chuckle in me.

Would I recommend it? Probably. Especially to those people who are looking for lines that's intended to come out corny, or you know just half-heartedly piss off a family member or friend.

For those of us who spend a little too much time looking up bad jokes to tell our kids (and unsuspecting coworkers), ninety percent of the jokes in this book will be familiar. It's a decent collection of truly groan-worthy jokes that will sometimes make you giggle, and sometimes make you wish you'd never opened the book.

Definitely not a book you want to read straight through, but a good one to keep on your phone to pull out for inspiration when you need to elicit an eye-roll from your child while you're waiting for food or whatnot.

But dad jokes? Nahh, these are 'bad joke lover jokes' and that's a group that includes more than just dads. I should know, I count myself as a proud part of that group!

A fun book for the right audience.

I do not know how the process of making a normal man into a terrible joke spouting machine goes, but this will appeal to all those afflicted. This is exactly what is advertised, and will make you groan for sure. This would be a great gift for dad, or younger children. Careful though, he might just come up with some new material after reading this.

I like dad jokes - straightforward, unassuming, and hilarious. This was not what I was expecting; I was disappointed that I only got a handful of chuckles out of these 'dad jokes; however, the illustrations were engaging.

Yeah , these jokes are so bad, but that is what makes them so funny, too. I laughed at every single one of them. And each time I thought about how stupid it was! But it was a fun book to read and have a real laugh.

[Note:  This book was provided free of charge by Books Go Social/Net Gallery.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.]

The book is at least mostly accurate in its description of the contents of this book.  There are 101 jokes.  They are bad, and they are the kind of jokes that lame "Dads" would be associated with.  When reading a book I tend to like to figure out which audience this book would be best for, and in this case the book is one that would be appreciated by a friend of mine who happens to be a deacon in my local congregation and a frequent dinner companion of mine who regularly tells terrible puns when songleading at services.  This book would be right up his alley.  While at best the books brought a wry smile to me, since the puns of this book are more obvious than my usual sense of humor but some of them were witty, there are many people who are more fond of this sort of humor that will find this book to be very amusing.  So it is with humor that everyone has their own tastes [1].

This book is a very simply organized one that, as I mentioned, lives up to its title.  All of the jokes of this book are pretty bad, some of them are so bad they are good, and all of them are illustrated and organized the same way.  There is a setup, and then a groanworthy and punny punch line.  Without much variation this format continues for the entire length of the book.  Obviously, this is not the sort of book most people would read straight through.  It is rather the sort of book one might glance at from time to time in the hope that one will find good material.  Depending on one's duties as an emcee of one kind or another, some of these jokes may provide an audience with droll amusement if they are not a hard audience to please and have a high tolerance for puns.  For most people this is the sort of book that would be best read in private, not least as a way of anticipating the punch line of people who make the sorts of puns this book celebrates.  Being knowledgeable about puns and tedious punchlines is a good way of spoiling their effect for those who are so inclined.

As far as a book goes, I am aware that I am not the target audience of this book.  There are many people who appreciate this book's humor more than I did as a reader.  That said, though, the book is still of value, not least because it brought me at least some amusement as a reader and because these jokes do appeal to a known audience that is probably quite large.  Not everyone is willing to tell extended and complicated bits that are based on one's observation and experience, and as dads are reputed to not often be very interested in taking a lot of work in order to gain a reputation as being comical, and so these jokes are certainly the sort of humor that would be expected for someone who wants the most efficient wit for the least amount of effort.  To his credit, the author is apparently known for a wide variety of such books geared to somewhat different audiences, so if you like what this book has to offer, there are many other such books that you can read and chortle to to your heart's content.

If you're in the market for corny jokes then you've found the right book. This book would work well with a glass of wine on a Friday night. Wait, why ruin a good Friday night. Let's make it Monday instead. Better yet, make that two glasses. The author pulled no punches as he bombarded me with one liners. Reminded me of Rodney Dangerfield - RIP.

My 23 year old son and I read this book together. We laughed once. Get this book out of my fort!

I just really love dad jokes. They make you want to groan but also laugh because they are just THAT bad

I appreciate a good pun or corny joke, and there are a few good ones in this book, but most are just lackluster.

I picked this book because I was in the mood to read something funny. Unfortunately, this book wasn't all that funny to me.
101 bad dad jokes. That's exactly what you get. Every page contains 1 joke with a bit of "art work". The art work is very very simple, so don't expect too much of it. It's basically a crude line drawing of a persons with a text balloon next to it. I wasn't a fan. I believe the layout and art could've been better. The jokes are typical bad dad jokes and you either like them or you don't. I didn't. I can imagine that some people will enjoy these a lot, either because they are so funny or because you can relate.
This was a quick read and it will appeal to a certain audience. I was just not one of those people.
