'How the fuck could I stay away? How could I go back to being nothing to everyone when what she was offering felt so fucking good. '

I’m just going to go ahead and start by saying that this book was AMAZING! I loved every single thing about it. It captivated me right from the prologue and was such a beautiful, heartbreaking, and heartwarming journey that I did not want to put down. If you love slow burns, this is the book for you. Shayla and Sean’s connection was so special and seeing that slowly develop and grow into this wonderful relationship was everything! Stories like this are why I love reading romance. J. Daniels has outdone herself on this book and I know it’s early in the year, but I am already declaring this book as one of my top favorite reads of the year. This one has ALL THE FEELS and is a story that I know I will never forget!

'There were people who deserved good. I learned early on, I was not one of those people. '

Sean “Stitch” Molina has had a rough life and has done some bad things as a result. He’s paid the price for those misdeeds and is now set on making things right and turning his life around. But old habits die hard and despite him getting his life together, he still knows that he’s not worthy of someone as good as Shayla Perkins. He doesn’t want to but the only thing he can think to do is push her away for her own good. Shayla may be persistent and intrigued by the sexy, brooding chef but she isn’t a dummy so when Sean clearly rejects her, she pulls away. That is, until Sean makes her a surprising offer, one that she can’t refuse. Sean has no idea what possessed him to offer his help to Shayla but once he’s done it, he’s having a hard time staying away. Shayla is surprised, yet delighted, by this new side of Sean that she’s getting to see and she is determined to do whatever she can to give Sean everything he deserves, even if that means letting him go.

“Don’t quit talkin’ to me,” he begged.
“I won’t. Ever.”
“I want you fillin’ my head. I want it so fuckin’ bad.”

I still haven’t read Four Letter Word (shame on me!!) but I am familiar with this crew from reading Hit the Spot a little more than a year ago. When I found out this book was about Stitch and Shayla I was so excited! I loved all the secondary characters when I read Hit the Spot and I just knew that Stitch’s story was going to be a good one, but this book exceeded any expectations I had. I fell in love with both Sean and Shayla while reading this book and went through so many emotions. I had a serious girl crush on Shayla! She was such an incredible human being. So full of compassion and selflessness, and it was so authentic and everyone felt it. She was loyal to her friends and family and fiercely protective of those she cared about. I loved her and I loved her for Sean, she was such a perfect match for him and the way she helped him through his demons and fought so hard for him, both to protect him and to show him that he was someone worth all the goodness that came his way, it was beautiful.

'I had gone most of my life without someone touching me like this.
I had gone all my life wanting it. '

Sean! OMG, I fell so hard for Sean. I’m a sucker for a tortured, broken hero and he was oh-so-broken. My heart ached for him, and I am actually getting a little misty-eyed right now thinking back on what he went through and how badly he just wanted to make things right. And when you find out WHY he wants so badly to set things right, oh. My. God! My heart squeezed and then promptly melted right out of my chest. It’s not specified in the blurb so I am not going to spoil anything, but this aspect of the story I LOVED soooo much. And the way Shayla reacted to it all? My God! Have I mentioned I love that woman? Because I do. Anyway, back to Sean. This book was very much a journey of personal healing for him and it was so perfectly done. The pacing, the thoughts, and feelings, it was all so believable and well done. My heart broke one moment and soared the next. Seeing him heal and finally begin to see himself the way everyone else did was just heartwarming.

'I was beginning to suspect Sean was the most unexpected man in the history of unexpected men. He never wanted anything in return for his actions. He never assumed or anticipated acknowledgment.
He was simply… good.
He was a good man. '

Then there was the most epic of slow burns. The chemistry between Sean and Shayla was always there but Sean was NOT in a place where they could just jump right in. Shayla recognized that and they took things slow but I think that the payoff was more than worth it when things finally happened. The buildup and the anticipation were great and by the time they got there it just felt natural. The best part? There was no ridiculous drama or stupid misunderstandings. These two communicated and were so honest with one another and I loved that. All of the drama and all of the angst that you encounter in this book happens organically and really amps up the feels. I could carry on rambling about this book for quite a while, but I’ll stop. I HIGHLY recommend this book, even if you haven’t read the two books before it (it can totally be read as a standalone). This is a beautiful story about healing and realizing that your past doesn’t have to define your future and that EVERYONE is worthy of love and kindness. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you won’t be sorry!

“I wanna be yours,” I panted, watching her eyes dilate and blink wider as she took in what I was saying. “You at my back, stickin’ up for me, and there when I’m fuckin’ terrified… I wanna go to you and I want you tellin’ me I can. I wanna be yours, Shayla.”

Bad for You was everything I expected and more. I’ve only read two books by J. Daniels and it took me only one book to know everything she writes is swoon-worthy, emotional, steamy and impossible to put down. But this book was something else. It was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me. Aside from being absolutely romantic and burning hot, it was fun, heartfelt and emotional—I’m talking the kind of emotional that makes you sob in the prologue and then sob when shit hits the fan and maybe shed a couple of tears in between. I can already tell Bad for You will be one of my favorite books of the year because how the heck can anyone top this? No one can!

Are you a fan of bad boys that actually have big beautiful hearts, don’t have single bad bone in their body and happen to have two beautiful daughters whom they’d do anything for? If the answer is HECK YES then you are going to fall in love with Sean.
Sean—aka Stitch—is beautiful and imperfect (and totally perfect at the same time!). He has a messy past. He won the lottery of bad moms and his father was never in the picture. Pretty much all his life he’s taken care of himself and growing up the only way he knew how to get the things he needed was stealing. He didn’t do it just for the sake of it, he did it out of necessity which is not an excuse but it’s all he ever knew. Then he got caught and he had to leave his two little girls and girlfriend behind. Now is his chance to be better; a better man and a better father.
Shayla is sunshine, butterflies and everything cute and bubbly in this world. She works at Whitecaps where she is a waitress and Sean is a cook. To say she has a crush on Sean would be a huge understatement. She gets heart eyes every single time he steps into a room. But he rejected her in the past and the friendship they were building crumbled a little since then. She shouldn’t be worrying over Sean when she’s about to start her own business but… did you read that part about her getting heart eyes for Sean?

Oh dear. I finished reading this book back in December and I already feel like I need a re-read. I miss Sean and Shayla so much. They are one of the cutest couples I’ve ever read. You can feel their connection deep in your heart and their love story is so pure and beautiful it is impossible to forget. They are now my favorite couple out of the entire Dirty Deeds series and I LOVE the previous two couples. That’s a whole lot of love y’all.

This review is not even making Bad for You justice so that’s a sign you absolutely need to read it as soon as you can. It is one of the most swoon-worthy books I’ve read in a while and I want y’all to experience that swept-me-off-my-feet feeling. If you let it, it might even become your new favorite book!

Anyone who knows me, knows I love my angst in a story. I thrive on angst and emotion when reading. This story has it in abundance and I completely absorbed this story in record time. I could not put this book down. I loved it. I loved the characters even when they were at their most broken. I loved the storyline and the pacing kept me reading without a break. I was left wanting more. I always want more from J. Daniels and I can't wait to see what she gives us next. I can guarantee I will absolutely love it!

Bad for You is heartbreaking and hopeful in equal measure, seriously all the feels. We have been following Shayla and Sean's attraction and interactions from the beginning of the Dirty Deeds series, although on the surface they appear complete opposites their attraction is obvious although Sean does his best to quash it at every opportunity.

My heart broke for Sean, witnessing his torturous upbring and the emotional and verbal abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother as well as the blatant neglect; it really does make you wonder where the authorities are in cases like this. Some people should not be allowed to be parents. The devastating and lasting effect the abuse has on Sean is the most heartbreaking of all. Pushed to step over the legal lines in order to survive, Sean adds to his emotional burden with each negative event in his life. Although it didn't really feel as if Sean was a self-fulfilling prophecy, his negative attitude to himself does nothing to improve his self-esteem or quality of life. Under all the negativity his inner goodness still manages to shine through for others to see, especially Shayla.

Shayla is the epitome of a ray of sunshine, her optimism is contagious, shining light onto all those around her. Shayla is a complete inspiration, I admired her ability to focus on the positive in any situation, even the ones I know I would have personally struggled with. Shayla is utterly selfless and willing to deny her own happiness for the people she loves.  Shayla's effect on Sean is nothing short of miraculous ♥

Although there are moments of angst and heartache within the relationship between Shayla and Sean, there is always the sense of hope that permeates the narrative, it is obvious Shayla and Sean belong together because they bring out the best in each other while giving balance to each other's lives.

I adore how the Dirty Deeds series is bringing together a random mix of characters and creating a unique family/support system for them all ♥

Be still my heart! I think I may have a favorite J. Daniels man. Sean “Stitch” Molina is broken but he is also lovable. His background was just so sad and I felt for him. I just wanted to crawl inside the book and give him a big hug. I knew he had a story from the glimpses we got in the previous books but I didn’t expect for it to be so heartbreaking. I did love how Sean was trying to make something of himself and his life considering the past. It truly showed his true character. The interactions between him and Shayla were beautiful and sweet. I loved how protective she was over him and the love that she showed. She was a strong woman when it came to her man. The two of them together was just the best and my heart was always happy with that. Their story was touching and I enjoyed every minute of it. I also loved seeing the rest of the characters in the series and introductions of new ones. They had a role in this story. Overall, Bad for You was a heartwarming read with all the feels. The Dirty Deeds series has been fantastic reads and I am excited for Nate’s up next. J. Daniels is becoming one of those great authors for me.

I hurt.
I swooned.
I laughed
I felt really, really HOTTTTTT…

The most emotional so far in the Dirty Deeds Series.

I have to confess I’ve developed a very soft spot for Stich from the start, in Four Letter Word.
I always wanted to know his story.
And it got worse while I was reading Hit The Spot.
So I had very high expectations, but believe me, J. Daniels did an amazing job! she gave everything I wanted, and more.

I loved every step, every bump in this journey.
Shayla was the perfect match for Sean, she heals him and he is the big beast/teddy bear who holds her, her kryptonite.
I loved the way they reconnected, how he slowly surrenders to her light.

And… The sex…
Well, I mean, We’re talking about J. Daniels here, so it has to be hot, dirty and beautiful!!

And like her previous books, we’re getting hints of the potential couples/ love stories that are coming next…
I really enjoy the series, this bunch of friends/ couples
Sometimes series get boring and/or repetitive, but with J. Daniels, it gets better with each book. It’s really refreshing.
Each couple adds something really special to the whole series.

I just can’t wait for Nate and Jena’s story!

Is it 2019 already????

Wow. Just wow. This was my first J Daniels book, even though I have been meaning to start this series for a while. I seriously need to go back and read the first two books, and I cannot wait for book four either.

What a story. This one is so full of depth and emotion. What a powerful storyline. I absolutely LOVED Sean! That man. Oh my god that man. If anyone deserved a happy ending, it was certainly him. His story was heartbreaking and I could totally relate to Shayla’s reactions as she got to know him, and discovered things about his past. The horrible thing is, that this is so real as well, this stuff happens in real life, and it’s so hard to fathom that human beings can be so horrible to one another.

Shayla was a feisty character and I loved how she stands up for what she knows is true, and what she believes in. She and Sean make an awesome team and its really great watching them figure each other out, and grow together.

All the kids in this book, and the secondary adult characters were awesome too, and really helped shaped the storyline as supporting characters too. I enjoyed the different personalities, and can’t wait to read their stories and get to know them more.

Sean was everything though. Strong. Sweet. Defiant. Full of heart. After everything that gets revealed, to have character as amazing as he does, is one hell of a feat. He’s one of my favourite book boyfriends, I think I have to add him to that list now for sure.

So full of emotion, this book will make you feel. All. The. Feelings.

I loved this so much, and I definitely recommend it.

Oh my, the emotions J. Daniels pulls from you while reading this story. A memorable read, this achingly raw, touching, funny and sexy book is one not to be missed. There is so much hope, love and deep moments trough out this story, that your emotions will be all over the place. These two characters are so fantastic. Shayla who is the heart and lightness of the story, and Sean who is raw and real and the star of this book.

Shayla Perkins, the sassy waitress everyone loves, has worked hard to make her dream of being a hair dresser a reality. Now all she's missing is sharing her accomplishments with the one person she tells everything to. Shayla hates the distance she feels between her and Sean, the one that grew when she pushed for more between them. She knows Sean would prefer her to keep it the way it was, but she can't help but want to know everything about this mysterious man. The one she's told her whole life story to while sitting by that kitchen window. Shay knows that together, they could be something great. And she knows she will have to break down walls and fight to make Sean see the man she does.

So sweet and goofy, Shayla is one of the best characters I have read. She dreams big and loves hard. She can see the good, and the potential in people who need it the most. She shines her brightness on everyone and everything around her. She puts all of herself into whatever she does.

Sean "Stitch" Molina is so much more than just the grumpy, quite cook at Whitecaps. He's a broken man, who has been lost for a long time. He let his dark past define him for far to long and just wants to put that all behind him. Sean is working hard to make up for his past mistakes and build something for himself and the few he cares deeply for. He's been angry for a long time, but that anger subsided when he was listening to Shay talk to him through that little window of his kitchen. And he was always listening.

Stitch may be a quite character, but his presence and story is loud. It grabs your heart and twists. This hurt and vulnerable man, will make you fall in love. You will want to hug him tight and not let go. You can feel his longing for a second chance, a fresh start and you hope and root for him to find that happiness he so deserves. He needed someone to believe in him, the way Shayla does, and show him that he deserves it all.

Combined, Stitch & Shay are something epic. Total opposites, but so damn right for each other. The heat and chemistry that has been building between them since their first encounter, the intense attraction, make for a HOT, swoon-worthy and passionate romance.

Being back in dogwood beach, looking through that kitchen window in Whitecaps, you'll find amazing characters, flowing storytelling, and a fresh writing style. Bad For You is a story of healing, finding love through all the darkness and a fight, for a second chance.

“Bad For You” was without a doubt my favorite book by J. Daniels. The writing was excellent and the story touched my heart in so many ways. This book is definitely one of my favorite reads of the month. Well done, J. Daniels!

Sean. Where do I begin with Sean? He was broody, broken and my heart broke for him throughout this story. Sean had a very hard and horrible upbringing and never felt like he was good enough or deserved any type of happiness. He lives a very isolating and depressing life.

As the story progresses he makes a lot of changes and I loved that Shayla was able to help him heal. Shayla was selfless and put everyone else’s needs before her and I loved the love she had for him. Shayla never gave up on Sean and helped him see he deserved more than the crappy hands he was dealt with in life.

Each book J. Daniels writes in this series fast becomes my favourite and this one was just wow! it was everything I love.

I was eagerly waiting Shayla and Stitch's story after you get a glimpse at them in previous book Hit the Spot I knew this was going to be full of angst but this blew me away with the depth of emotion that J. Daniels brought to us.

This book is the perfect blend of gut-wrenching angst, hot and sexy passion mixed with sizzling tension. Its a beautiful story of friendship that blossoms into much more.

I just love Stitch, his story broke my heart, I just wanted to hug him close but I loved how he blossomed with Shayla. She was so sweet and caring with the hint of sass and feistiness, the perfect match for him.

I so can't wait for Nate's story out next year! his is the story I have wanted since book 1

I reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the author

OMG people, this book was AWESOME!!!! I’ve read a few books by J. Daniels by now, including the two previous ones on this series, but this one was definitly my favorite. And that’s down to the characters, 100%!

If you haven’t yet read a book by J. Daniels, what are you waiting for? Her writing is amazing.

So, let’s talk about the characters. Shayla was such a unique character, I just wanted to wrap her in a tight hug and never let her go, because she was beyond awesome. She’s just so GOOD. She wants to be the best for everyone, and she puts everyone’s happiness in front of her own. She’s also hilarious and fierce. I love this girl to bits.

And Sean, oh boy… Sean had me sobbing during the prologue. And I wanted him to see his self worth so badly, but it was a journey, and I was so happy when he got there. He was such a good person, and he deserved so much more out of life.

All the yeses to Shay and Sean together, because they were perfection. They were supportive and understood each other, and did their best to be there whenever. They fit, and it was beautiful.

Glad about all the friendships on this book, especially the one between Shayla and Val. It’s not common to get a girl getting along with her guy’s ex, but it made the story that much better. Though I would have liked to see a bit more of the gang’s involvement.

Also, I hope Daniels is not sweeping a certain pairing’s romance under the rug, because I would be severely disappointed.

SO, A FANTASTIC READ, BY A FANTASTIC AUTHOR, AND I CAN’T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THE NEXT INSTALLMENT.

What can say that haven’t been said about the talented J. Daniels, her writing is no hold bar and you as fan/reader will have no choice but to fall deep when you’ve read one of her books. When I was first introduced to Stitch in the other books I just knew that his hurt ran very deep but once I found out how deep they were my heart couldn’t help but to break in a million pieces, but have no fear because Ms. Daniels took her time and put every single piece back together.

Shay and Stitch’s story is not your typical hearts and flowers book. Your heart will break and you feeeeeeeel, why, because with Ms, Daniels writing you will have no other choice but to. These two were meant for each other, Stitch helped Shay in ways that she never thought would be possible and Shay did the same for him. This man had my heart from the very beginning of the book and I didn’t want it back, there will be moments in this book where he will make you and other times where your heart will shatter for him. The best part is seeing what J does with his story and how she just puts this man back together.

I didn’t want this book to end but you know what they say, all good things must come to an end. Now for me to sit and wait for the next book to come out because I know when it comes to a J. Daniels book I will not be disappointed.

Sean’s young life had been a harsh one. The rejection and worthlessness he felt have now become his constant companions in adult life. The decisions he made in desperation have cost him greatly, but he sees his job at Whitecaps as the first step in the long road to rectifying them. He is focused and determined to make amends, but making friends is not par the course.

Why is it that we always want the things that are bad for us? That’s a question Shayla “Shay” Perkins has been asking herself since she first laid eyes on Sean "Stitch" Molina. Employed as the cook at the diner where waitresses, she’s been enamoured by him since his very first day. He’s notoriously standoffish, but with persistence being her middle name, she has seen glimpses of Sean that lay waste to the hostile attitude he projects to anyone who dares approach his hatch.

Sean feels unworthy of Shay’s attempts of friendship and bar a few lapses in his resolve; he rejects any kindness she has to offer him. She may think he doesn’t notice but he sees her, he sees her pure spirit and how far is willing to go for her loved ones. It’s because of this reason he is unable to walk away when he finds her in a time of need.

There’s none more surprised than Shay of Stitch’s act of kindness. She is overcome by gratitude and with renewed determination Shay makes it her business to show Stitch the ropes of friendship. Its sweet witnessing as the trust between them develops. They both have obstacles they need to overcome and as their relationship blossoms they soon become each other’s strength in overcoming them.

Stitches’ story is definitely a heart-breaking one and I marvelled at how equip Shay was in being some resolution into his life. More than her friendship and love she helped him to realise what he has been along, worthy.

Bad For You was a beautiful story fully loaded with emotion.
I was in tears and an emotional wreck from the prologue, yes the PROLOGUE. From that moment, I knew that it was going to be a heart wrenching, raw and real read but, I felt compelled to read it and to know how the story will unfold. J.D made me laugh and cry, fall in love and feel pain.
“I wasn’t ever going to be worth what this girl wanted to give. I knew that, and I needed her to know it too …”
Shayla is a fantastic heroine who believes in life and wants to do well and do her family proud. Family that she will do anything for. When her mum has to leave, Shay volunteers to look after her two brothers E and Dom. Those boys…. Soon, Shay realises how challenging it is to manage two jobs and two young boys.
Sean *Sight* Stitch is a broken hero. He is broody, charismatic and endearing at the same time. To say that his life has never been easy since his birth, is a BIG understatement. But now it is time for him, it is time to redeem himself from his mistakes and to give himself a second chance in life. I love him so much and when he is on Snapchat OMG he made me melt…
““Keep it up, Stitch. We all know you got a squishy little heart of gold under all that edge. You ain’t fooling us.”
Shay and Sean work together at the WhiteCaps restaurant. She is bubbly- he is moody, she is talkative-he is quiet, she wanted more- he did not… So when fate brought them back together, how are they both going to deal with the new arrangement that they have made? Do they deserve a second chance? Do they deserve a HEA?
Bad For You was heart-breaking yet, hopeful. I finished this book with an emotional high. I am still reeling from my book experience. I cannot find the right words to describe the emotions I felt. J.Daniels ‘s writing was flawless and so much so, that she made me care from the prologue for fictional people … they were real to me…she made me feel alive, even though she killed me with her words. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful, move-you-to-tears story
“He didn’t feel worthy. And he was absolutely worthy. Not just of me, but of everything good this world had to offer him. Of love. Of kindness.”

With as many books as I read, it is easy to fall behind with a favorite author or even forget why you love their books so much. This sort of happened to me with Bad For You. I had forgotten how much I really liked this series and J. Daniels is an author I have loved for a while. Bad For You is the complete opposite of its title, because it is far from bad, it was GREAT!

Bad For You is emotional, it is a book that will have you considering give a second chance to someone who may not deserve it, but is worth it. It will suck you in, hold you hostage and not let you go until you fall totally and utterly in love with this book. I want to go back and not just read this one but the previous two books as well right now. Sean and Shayla will take a piece of your heart with them throughout the book and you won’t get it back. I don’t usually include quotes in my reviews but just so you get a tiny taste of the emotions in the book.

“I don’t wanna be nothin’.” Tears filled his eyes again. “I’m so fuckin’ sick of bein’ nothin’, Shayla.”
“You’re’ not nothing,” I said, pulling him into a hug. His tears wet my chest. “You’re not nothing, Sean. Not even close.”
“Don’t quit talkin’ to me,” he begged.
“I won’t. Ever.”
“I want you fillin’ my head. I want it so fuckin’ bad.”
God, his pain – it became my own – I felt it. and I knew I’d feel it for as long as he did.
“You’ll never feel alone again. I promise,” I whispered.”

I can’t recommend this book enough, Bad For You was such an amazing read that I want to shout from rooftops that it needs to be on your TBR lists, that if you have never read anything by this immensely talented author you need to stop waiting and dive in. Bad For You was so good that I can’t wait to read it again soon.

5 “You are so freaking worthy” stars!!

I didn’t know what to expect when I picked this book up. One of the things I love most about J. Daniels’ work is that her stories are unpredictable. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, her books are romantic, swoony, sexy and erotic, having me envious of the heroines ALL THE TIME , but because she doesn’t really follow a set formula, all of her stories stay fresh and unique for me.

I stared into his perfect face, belonging to this perfect man, who had overcome so much to be here.

The biggest joy I found in this book, what made me feel absolutely blissful contentment, was something that I look for in all characters in all books. The heart. The hearts of both Sean and Shayla were massive! I don’t think it was even possible to make these two any better. Sean’s pain and suffering was gut-wrenching in its raw authenticity, however, his core was still beautiful. I just wish he could always see it. I think the author captured his silent torture perfectly. It was just so real. I hated every minute of it and yet loved what it brought to the story. His depth was immeasurable. As for Shayla… dammit I loved this chick so much. Her capacity to understand, overstand, sympathize, empathize, feel, protect, nurture, etc. She was an incredible force to be reckoned with. She was a miniature dynamo, willing to take on all comers in her defense of Sean. She was the first to see his awesomeness and also the first to reap the rewards of it. His kindness, caring, concern, and willingness to help her were just some of the traits that made him the right man for her.

"You stood there wantin’ me, wantin’ us, as much as I did, and you buried that want so I could get it all." He knew. He knew everything.

I could continue to wax poetic about the brilliance of this book. I could give you so many more reasons why I loved these characters. I can think of about 15 gifs that I could post to illustrate my love. I basically highlighted the entire book and therefore have a multitude of other quotes I could inundate you with. But I won’t. Let me just say that this is a book that shouldn’t be missed. A story that will pull you in and touch you in the sweetest of ways. A story full of pain, sacrifice, hope, rebirth, new beginnings, and love, with a couple that was worthy of all the beauty that life and love have to offer.

4.25 stars--BAD FOR YOU is the third instalment in J. Daniels’ contemporary, adult DIRTY DEEDS erotic, romance series focusing on twenty-three year old diner waitress and hair stylist Shayla Perkins, and twenty-seven diner cook and single father Sean Molina. BAD FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: BAD FOR YOU contains scenes and references to violence and child sexual abuse and may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual first person points of view (Shayla and Sean) BAD FOR YOU follows the building romance and relationship between diner waitress and upstart hairstylist Shayla Perkins, and diner cook Sean Molina. With the death of her beloved grandmother, Shayla Perkins is about to discover that being a parent to her two younger siblings is a lot tougher than she could ever have imagined when her parents must leave to settle her grandmother’s estate. Struggling with her brothers’ fluctuating schedules including after school sporting events, tutoring lessons and speech therapy Shayla will finally break down only to come face to face with the man who has starred in all of her fantasies for close to a year. Enter co-worker and diner cook Sean Molina, a dark, brooding, tattooed and quiet young man who hides years of painful abuse and loss behind a mask of cool indifference and heart breaking pain. What ensues is the friends to lovers relationship between Sean and Shayla, and the potential fall out when Shayla steps aside, sacrificing her own happiness to allow Sean’s past a second chance.

Sean Molina’s back story is painful and heart breaking; a life full of abuse and neglect that will eventually spiral out of control leaving our hero broken, scarred and permanently lost. Shayla Perkins is the epitome of perfection as it pertains to her handling and defense of our story line hero-a hug here, a caress there for a man not use to affection or love slowly begins to break down the barriers and walls necessary to survive.

The relationship between Shayla and Sean struggles in the early stages as Sean is unable to let go; unable to accept Shayla’s overtures of friendship as he continues to suffer with memories of betrayal, abuse and loss. Shayla’s continuous need to protect Sean is of-times over the top but one born of sympathy and love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

The reader is introduced to Shayla’s brothers Eli and Dom; as well as Sean’s ex Val, and his two daughters Fiona and Caroline: and Whitecaps Cafe new cook J.R. The return of Tori and Jamie (Hit The Stop #2), Sydney and Brian (Four Letter Word #1), as well as diner owner and manager Nate adds familiarity and cohesion between the story line.

BAD FOR YOU is an emotional and heart breaking story where the reader is pulled into the past as one young boy struggles to survive against a world determined to destroy and break; and a present that refuses to give up the ghosts and memories. The premise is moving and visceral; the characters are broken, tragic and colorful; the romance is touching and passionate.

You guys!!! 2018 is off to a great start!!! Another book I couldn’t put down. BAD FOR YOU is book three in J. Daniels’ Dirty Deeds Series. This is the first book by J. Daniels that I have read! (I know totally shocking). I did not feel lost starting with reading the third book in the series. It in no way takes away from the story and will have quite and emotional impact on you. This is a beautiful story filled with hope and true love. People from Sean’s past help him to realize that he is worthy even though he pushed those people away.

The characters work their way into your heart and stay there long past the last page. Sean “Stitch” Molina is so broken and you felt that with every bad thing he said about himself. Shayla Perkins is a beautiful human and she tries unsuccessfully to convince Sean he is worthy of love. J. Daniels did a great job building the characters and story and it moved at just the right pace to keep my attention. I finished this book in under 24 hours!!!

Pick it up Now!!! You don’t want to miss out on this incredibly moving story.

A story of redemption and realizing self worth, Bad For You managed to capture every nuanced emotion involved when selflessly falling in love with another. Having watched these two circle each other in prior books, it was a relief to finally be involved in their story to find out exactly who Shay and Sean were as individuals and what they were when they become one entity. I won’t say I was surprised to find it as romantic as it was, but I will say that I was amazed at how beautiful it really was when it was all said and done.

With much ground to make up for in getting to know these two characters, Daniels didn’t delay in wholly fleshing them out and giving us a true look into their struggles and everyday lives. And what was in abundance was the amount of things left unsaid, the pushed-down feelings, and the raw attraction that flared whenever the two of them were in the same room. The visceral nature of it was palpable and something I began to crave as the story went on, especially as this attraction became heavy with a blossoming uncertain friendship–or truce, really–that pulled them closer than before. In most stories, I find myself drawn to the heroes, as is the case with most readers I presume, but in this story the star is truly Shay. She’s the go-getter, the bighearted giver, the woman with a selfless heart of gold. Her inner beauty is what shines the greatest in this story and gives this story its pure romanticism. It’s her that inspires hope and acceptance in a badly tattered man that is entirely unaware of all that he is.

Without going into too much detail, Bad For You was an evocatively inspiring romance with two very complex and vivid characters. Their love story felt true and guided by the characters, not forced with a reader or writer’s expectations in mind. It was so easy to fall into them and become enraptured by their draw and appeal; the uncomplicated nature of it was pure and enjoyable. Each story in this series has been an amazing read, but I think this one will always hold a very special spot simply because of all that it is.
